12 Chapter 12: Versus Kurenai

Alright so I may have to buff some of the characters, especially Kurenai, so please don't complain if you see Kurenai performing jutsus that she normally shouldn't be capable of.

10 minutes were up, which meant Kurenai was now ready to beat up some genin. As she was jumping through the trees, she was able to detect two different chakra sources. These were definitely Shino, and Hinata, Kurenai thought. Kurenai found the blindfold kid rather strange. For some odd reason, she could not detect his chakra at all. She knew the kid had low chakra reserves, but to think that she could barely detect his chakra.
Suddenly, from seemingly out of nowhere a knee appeared, barreling toward her face. Kurenai immediately ducked out of the way and landed on the ground.
Behind Shinra also landed, "My what fast reflexes you have Kurenai-sensei" he said laughing.
"Alright there is definitely something up with this kid." Kurenai thought. She could not sense the kid's chakra, its like he had no chakra at all, but that's impossible. "It definitely has something to do with the blindfold", she thought to herself.
Meanwhile Shinra had his 'Eyes of God' activated along with his vector abilities, ready for battle. Without any hesitation he immediately launched a sidekick at Kurenai's head. Immediately, he was parried, so he quickly used the momentum to swing around and launch another kick with this other leg. This time the leg was grabbed and Kurenai landed a punch to his stomach, launching Shinra away.
For some reason, she felt a resistance acting on the punch when her fist was close to Shinra, weakening the impact. Now she knew there was definitely something up with this kid. Where were his teammates? So far she only met Shinra, and she was too preoccupied with him to detect the other chakra signatures.
"Damn, sensei, I didn't know you were so strong."
"Kid, I'm a Jonin, if I can't deal with genin-level taijutsu then I just demote me back to a chunin."
Shinra ran toward Kurenai, again. She immediately went into a battle stance, however she was surprised to see him crouch a bit before spring up, bringing his right leg above her shoulders.

Kurenai tried to grab the leg from above her, but she was met with that resistance again, allowing Shinra to swing around and launch a roundhouse kick. The kick miraculously managed to make and contact, launching Kurenai away.
"Sorry, sensei.. did that hurt?"
"Damn, that was a good kick", Kurenai replied, rubbing the area where the kick made contact. "But where are the rest of them", thought Kurenai.
As if answering her question, she noticed a chakra signature coming toward her. She immediately dodged out of the way, and now she was face to face with the heir to the Hyuga clan. Hinata was in her gentle fist stance, with her byakugan active.
Now Kurenai had to face Hinata from the front while Shinra was still waiting in the back ready to launch an attack. Two taijutsu specialists, it was time to use her other specialties.
Instead of closing the distance to attack, Shinra opted to launch two kunais at Kurenai, in order to support Hinata's frontal assaults.
Kurenai found Hinata easy to deal with. The girl was always hesitating to land a strike, a problem that Kurenai needed to solve. However the problem was Shinra's kunais. No matter how many times they were deflected, they seemed to continually follow her.
"What the- hey kid you have the magnet release?", asked Kurenai
"What no sensei, guess again.", replied Shinra with a smirk.
"Then... is it chakra strings?", guessed Kurenai, still dodging the kunais while Hinata was busy launching attacks.
"Ding, ding. My low amounts of chakra allows me to control chakra easier, which meant chakra strings!", answered Shinra. Of course, he could not tell her the truth.
Seeing no choice, Kurenai immediately made a few hand signs. "Evil Illusion: Tree Capture Death".
Immediately what seemed like branches from a nearby tree appeared to wrap around Hinata and Shinra, causing them to be immobilized.
While Hinata was panicking, Shinra was a bit confused. Hinata suddenly stopped moving, but there wasn't anything there? Immediately, he thought about the genjutsu Kurenai used on Itachi in the show and a smile started to form on his face.
"Genjutsu on that level doesn't work on me", he yelled catching her by surprise. He immediately rushed to her.
Shinra raised his left arm, before recoiling his right arm ready to launch a punch at Kurenai's stomach. When Kurenai attempted to dodge out of the way, she found that she could not move at all, having to take the full force of his punch.
<Basaltic fist>
At the last minute it, Kurenai managed to block the initial punch , but the massive air pressure was another matter. The air pressure, boosted by vectors, causes nearby rocks and soil to be upturned, not even Kurenai can defy the laws of physics and so she was launched away. Shinra used his vectors to somewhat control Kurenai's fall so that she landed on a specific area.
Kurenai managed to recover from the attack, but she found that thousand of insects exploded out of the ground from where she landed. The insects started to cover her body, sapping her chakra.
"Damn, so glad that's not me" thought Shinra feeling a chill run down his spine seeing the horde of insects.
"Give up sensei." said Shino who suddenly appeared from behind the horde.
"Hmmm, looks like it was my fault for underestimating you. Alright combat's over", said Kurenai smiling. Immediately she shunshined out of the bugs, before knocking out all of the kids with skillful use of Shunshin.

Alright honestly I don't think the fight is that good. It was my first time writing a fight scene, so please post any criticisms in the comments. I will definitely come back here edit and improve once I get more experience.
