5 Ran away

In the car leading to Prime Hospital, there were several other black cars trailing behind. Indicating how important the patient was. Lucy was just about to leave after the successful conference taking place two hours prior.

The conference itself was presented not late before dinner, but there were some after party that she could not just ditch because of how important all the guests were. She sighed, the presentation was supposed to be just for two hours, yet it dragged for another four.

'I suppose three days off are worth it...', she smiled to herself, feeling better after thinking that for the next three days, she could laze around and sleep until late afternoon.

The black car rushed to the underground parking lot, where Lucy was standing beside her Bugatti Veyron, ready to step inside it. She raised a brow upon seeing such luxurious Maybach in a rush, even late at night.

'Why not use the front door out there when you're in a rush?', she thought to herself.

What function could it be if there was a sick patient needing quick help if they went to the underground instead? Seeing how secretive things were, Lucy concluded that it was better not to pry.

She often saw some famous people not wanting the masses to find out about their illness. This one might just be one of those people too.

'Well, if they need help, they will find it after taking the elevator. Not my business.', Lucy climbed her car and drove away. She yawned a couple of times while driving to her home.

Her house was just a twenty minutes drive from the hospital. It was located in Kalla Villa, one of the private property of Lee Group. The Villa only consisted of twenty houses in total. Tight with security but not quite when all the houses were miles apart from each.

It was like living in a vast garden all by herself. And she liked that. Knowing that the security was tight only far away from the entrance. Lucy was happy to be as personal as she could in such a neighborhood.

At the underground parking lot, one of the bodyguards tried to lift Aubrey's limp body that was full of stain of blood. He never stopped coughing out blood during the entire ride to the hospital. Which made the men in black worried about the outcome if they failed to save Aubrey.

Aubrey had never tried this method before. Whenever he ran away from the mansion, he made it clear about what he was doing, which was indeed such a foolish idea- considering the tight security around that house.

Now, he forced himself to be the scapegoat himself in order to get away. And it might work since that man was out of the country now. Aubrey knew that man was still in a flight back to the country, that was why he chose this exact time to execute his long-time plan.

Just as he realized that he was being carried to the elevator, Aubrey jumped away from the man holding him. He took out the knife under his shirt which surprised the bodyguard further.

He ran closer to the man and without hesitation, he plucked the knife to the stomach. Pulling it out, the blood gushed out from the bodyguard. Another man in black tried to reprimand Aubrey since they could not use weapons against the young master.

While they approached closer, Aubrey's face turned bleak. He knew he would not be hurt by them because that was exactly their main order. Aubrey took the chance to strike them instead.

He kicked the man at his stomach using his knee and then he snapped his elbow at the back of the man's neck. His moves shocked the bodyguards around him.

How could he know some self defense? And he seemed different than usual? He always appeared meek and low in motivation, but why was he so strong suddenly?

Aubrey never wanted to try this again, because he knew that he should succeed at all cost. And he needed to be fast. Or what happened eventually would be backfired at him.

He took out a small bottle of colorless liquid, pour it all onto his handkerchief that he always brought with him and ran straight to the other bodyguard. He kicked the man knee, step onto his toes and shoved the handkerchief to the man's mouth.

Then the man lost sight of everything around him. There were only three men with him when they rode the car. The other cars were outside, lining up in front of the hospital entryway. They did not drive to the underground to avoid suspicion.

Aubrey tossed the handkerchief and took the knife back to his hand, he changed his blood-stained clothes with the suit of one of the bodyguards.

He was tired, he wasn't pretending when he coughed the blood out of his system, he really consumed some amount of poison to convince the bodyguards.

A hard constriction on his chest was now replaced with a sudden pain in his head. He was slowly becoming dizzy by the loss of blood. Aubrey took a deep breath while he tried to stand properly, if the men outside did not get any update about him in a few minutes, he knew that everything he worked for today would be in vain.

They would come here any minute now and he didn't have the time. Aubrey forced his feet to move and went towards a door leading upstairs. It was an emergency stairs.

He rested his back on the wall. His chest heaved up and down. He was still hesitating after all. He was afraid of what he would do next. But he didn't want to stay there any longer.

He realized he should do this if he didn't want that man to track him again. All of his failed attempts before was due to the thing that clutched tightly around his neck. A choker that had a tracker and some waves of electricity if pressed on one button.

He remembered clearly as day when that man first pressed the button. He felt like losing his voice and his throat felt sore and in fire. It was one of the tortures he experienced since he was eight years old.

Whenever he tried to talk back to that man, he received the same punishment. And since then, he never talk. His heart was shut away and his voice disappeared along with time.

Aubrey then clenched the knife in his hand, pointing it towards his throat. He gulped, closing his eyes. He immediately pressed the tip of the knife to the black choker that was circling around his neck in swift motion.

Crack- a sound of something broken. Aubrey was a pessimist, he chose to completely destroy the device around his neck because he was afraid if it was still functioning. He tried several times until he was satisfied. But he was unable to get it off his neck.

Maybe it was designed to never be opened again. Aubrey's eyes lit up in devastation when he realized the possibility. But he was quick to not let his emotion get to him.

He had had enough of this. He wanted to be free. Aubrey ran away from the hospital when he noticed that the other bodyguards were now in frantic, looking for him.
