3 Lucy Kim

On the desk full of medical documents scattered around, pens lining up and down, blank papers and sticky-notes of various colors, lied a woman's head. Light brown in color with a completely straight hair, down to the middle of her back, and she had a brow bone bangs as her signature hair style from birth.

Lucy Kim was napping, taking her sweet time during her break. She had not gotten a good amount of sleep nowadays, as she was busy with her conference titled Mind and Mental. She had just finish the preparation since she started it a month ago. And the conference was due soon.

Many things had to be taken care of. She wanted the conference to be successful. In order to get the people better understand the importance of mental health. Lately, the rise of depression cases in the country was worrying.

Lucy continued being in her La la land until she was hit by a stack of papers, surprising her to the core.

"What the-!", she woke up immediately. Dazed.

"I told you not to sleep in this position, it's not good for your neck.", a young man seemingly older by a couple of years sighed. He wore a white jacket indicating that he was also a doctor. There was name plat on his coat, Gary Kim.

"Damn Gary. I was supposed to sleep for another hour.", Lucy frowned. Disliking how her nap was disturbed.

"Wake up, lunch is almost over.", disregarding his cousin's complain, Gary shoved Lucy away from her seat and forced her to stand up reluctantly.

Just a second after that, a loud bump on the door startled Lucy awake again. Gaining her frown to deepen now. She looked at the direction of the door, it was her younger sister, Mia Kim.

She was a year younger than Lucy. A bit cheeky and social, unlike Lucy who preferred to indulge herself in gaming and lazing around in the house if she got nothing better to do.

"Sis, you're gonna grow a beard if you continue living like that.", she said.

"What? There's nothing better for you to say? I'm dead tired now and both of you guys never stop to bother me!", Lucy was now in her climax of anger.

If there was anyone who knew Lucy's characters, then one of them was her temper when she got woken up by someone without her consent.

Well, most of the time, it was always without her consent. She didn't like to wake up knowing that somebody had disturbed her. She had a low blood pressure- that was what she claimed it to be.

"Now now.. stop acting like a child and let's go eat. Your parents will nag at me again if you don't want to eat.", Gary as usual, ignored her fuming and dragged Lucy out of her desk. Stepping closer to Mia.

"Don't do this.. I beg you guys.. just let me sleep. Damn it!!", Lucy threw a tantrum. Showing how displeased she really was. She just wanted to take her nap.

"No means no.", Mia said. Agreeing with her cousin Gary.

Seeing how the two of them were actually having fun in this, Lucy scowled. She slapped her hand away from Gary's grip. Walking ahead of them and leaving her room with a tight face. She really didn't like it when someone tried to reason with her right after her sleep was disturbed.

Lucy walked through the hallway of the highest floor of Prime Hospital, where the majority of directors and high-profile doctors were residing with their own private office. Hers was also located here. Although she preferred her primary office at the Department of Psycology down there.

The reason she was owning an office up here was for the fact that she had quite a share in the capital. As she was a granddaughter of the owner itself. Everyone with a surname Kim, had their own office built. Her father was a vice president while his older sister was a president, who was also a gynecologist.

Walking upon the quiet hallway, Lucy met her aunt, her father's older sister who seemed to be ready going home.

"President.", she took a slight bow towards the elder woman in her fifties.

"Call me aunt, Lucy.", the woman sighed. Her niece was too adamant in formality even though they were family.

"No way. Have you eaten lunch? Going home?", Lucy smiled.

"Yes, I just got back from business trip yesterday. I was supposed to be on leave today.", her aunt smiled back.

"Oh? You should go then. Rest well when you get home, president.", Lucy nodded slightly before walking ahead leaving her aunt behind. But she halted her step and went close to the woman instead.

"Hm?", her aunt raised a brow. Confused.

"Love you aunt Annie.", Lucy whispered close to her ear. Then she went fast ahead without looking back.

Annie Kim, smiled a little before she went to the opposite side and hopped inside a private elevator leading to the underground parking lot.

Lucy kept on walking steadily to her department after having lunch with both her cousin and sister. Although she was acting hostile towards them for waking her up, she was not that petty to hold on to the grudges.

It was actually a norm for her to get mad and then settled down quickly. It was also one of her characters. Passing by several departments and nodding to the fellow doctors, she stepped closer to her destination.

All the way of the walk was annoying as usual. She could hear the murmurs of some people whether they were patients or nurses or doctors, saying how beautiful her face was. How long her legs were, and how bouncy her chest shown. It was damn irritating.

She knew that she was pretty, not because she had narcissistic disorder, but because that was what people around her said. Even her family said so. Her younger sister, Mia was as beautiful as her, but she looked more like a princess while Lucy exuded an aura of a queen.

While the talk mostly consisted about her beauty, there were some about her authority. She was already quite famous for being a Kim. But some of the talk also consisted of full envy and jealousy.. being a center of attention was tiring, she sighed while she thought to herself. Not minding the hard but petty gazes of those female doctors.
