7 Chairman Lee

A private plane landed on a platform exactly at seven in the morning, and a man around his thirties came out with a long black jacket swirling around behind him whenever he took a step to walk alongside the red carpet laid upon him.

He carried an undeniable air around him, full of charisma and was cold, heartless and most importantly, his purple eyes indicated death. He looked more than a man in his full youth, handsome and sexy.

Whoever laid eyes upon him must be ready to die due to the hotness and sexyness. Because he could kill with both. His shoulder was broad and he seemed like he work out each day to maintain his proportion well.

"Chairman Lee, welcome back.", a long line of servants gathered at each side of the red carpet, bowing full ninety degree when he walked by.

He continued walking without sparing a glance, seemingly quite angry for something.

"Report.", he said. The man in black behind him went faster to his side.

"Chairman, it was due to our carelessness that we lost the young master. He was now nowhere in our sight and it has been seven hours since then.", the man said, looking nervous, but he was a professional, so he masked his emotions well.

The man who was referred to as the chairman of Lee Group looked like he was ready to eat people. He pictured a grim look, distant and ruthless.

"I gave you one task. Just one simple task. It has been seventeen years and you said you failed now? Of all times?", he questioned the man. If look could kill, his bodyguard might have been dead in a coffin by now.

"I'm sorry chairman Lee. We will further investigate to track down young master's whereabouts.", the man in the black suit said, not wasting a second to find a clue on Aubrey.

Chairman Lee gave a scrutinizing look towards his people before he walked away in madness. He looked composed as ever, even though everyone knew there was a volcano erupting in his head right now.

Adamson Lee, 34, stepped into the car when the guide opened the door for him, and closed it a moment after he went inside. several more cars trailed behind when the car started moving, the destination was the main mansion of Lee family.

It had been two hours, but Lucy failed every attempt to make the man speak a word. His walls were too high that they could even reach the cloud. He never let down his guard around her. The poor woman who only wanted to help.

Kalla Villa was quiet and the sun now was seen rising slowly through the curtain in the room. It was gradually getting warmer and dawn was close to cease.

"Um.. listen, I have introduce myself, so what is your name? If you don't want to say it, that's fine but.. I want to help you. So I need to know you better. I'm not a bad guy. So you can rest assured.", she talked to him again, this was her 47th try.

Silence...

Lucy sighed. This man was too much. Damn! How could she break the ice? Her other patients were not this hard to talk to.

"Um.. you can stay here for however long you want. I won't force you to talk okay? I'll prepare breakfast for you. And you should get a full checkup at the hospital.", she said.

The man stiffened when she mentioned hospital. She found that he didn't want to go there and she realized he had his reasons.

"But you are injured and I don't have the equipment to fully check your condition.", she explained. Hoping that he could tolerate it. The man was silent again.

Lucy sighed yet again. She inched closer when he didn't notice, then she closed the distance and was holding one of his hands in her hand.

"Alright, I won't mention hospital anymore. I will bring the equipment here instead, okay? Relax... I'm on your side.", she soothed the man in front of her. She ignored the fact that she was like a mother coaxing a child to sleep.

Great, he didn't seem like he hated to be touched. A sign of trust although it was just a little. Lucy smiled as she softly gripped his hand.

Aubrey wanted to slap the hand away, but the moment it touched his cold icy hand, he could feel his ice melted. Her hand was warm and it helped him calmed his rapid breathing.

He liked the touch, it reminded him of the warmth before the tragedy befallen him and his family seventeen years ago. Aubrey didn't return the grip of her hold, but he didn't reject it either.

He then faced the nightstand beside the bed, there was a pile of sticky-notes and a pen. He reached them slowly. Lucy saw his movement and decided to observe.

Aubrey started writing something and he handed it over to Lucy quickly. She took it without question. His handwriting was beyond neat. It was beautiful.

'Wow...', she thought to herself. She read the words.

(Aubrey Lee. Thank you for saving me.)

She faced the man named Aubrey with a wide smile. He told her his name! What a great achievement!

"Nice to meet you, Aubrey! Call me Lucy from now on!", she grinned, looking excited.

Aubrey decided to trust his luck, if she was really a doctor, then he should tell her the reason of his massive blood loss. He knew she was not stupid. She must have seen the trail of blood on his mouth. That was why she wanted to take him to the hospital for a test.

Aubrey then wrote something again on the notes. He passed it to Lucy.

(Strychnine.)

Lucy's eyes went wide. What the-

"You were poisoned? That was why you lost so much blood?", she knew it, his pale complexion was not due to his neck injury, it was something else.

Aubrey changed his blood-stained clothes before he went for the run, that was why he was clean of blood and looked normal. But for a doctor, that mere fact was established long before he explained it. Lucy knew he lost more blood from his mouth than from his neck.

"We need to undergo treatment alright? I will be back again.", she said to him. Ready to go to the hospital to get some medication for the poisoning. She was worried, but she held it inside.

She must hurry and have him recover faster. His digestive system must be contaminated with the poison and it might be severe if not treated properly. Lucy stood in haste but she halted suddenly.

"Do you know how much you consumed?", she asked.

He wrote again.

(Not much.)

'That's to be expected. Since he survived more than three hours.', she thought.

"Alright, stay here. I will come back again.", she went downstairs, grabbed her car key and started the engine. And then she was nowhere in sight.

Aubrey started to calm his nerves when he realized that he was alone in the house. But he still felt the sensation of some lurking poison in his system. He wasn't able to relax his tense muscle, it felt heavy and was about to explode, he felt like his body refused to answer to his command.

But he fought it. He needed to survive now that he was able to escape. He wondered how he was able to hold on when he was laying unconscious at the back of the house. And then, without notice, he drifted off to unconsciousness despite the unwelcoming body condition.
