7 Chapter 7 required her to kneel down and apologize

Xiao Jiuyan looked at her for a few seconds before saying, "Go to sleep. If you're late again tomorrow night, you will be punished six times."

'What?'

'Six times?'

'How much crueler can this old man get?'

"Oh."

Guan Xi didn't dare to voice out her anger. Instead, she lowered her head meekly and headed for her room.

With her back facing Xiao Jiuyan, the corner of her lips tipped up into a fox-like smile. She got away with her antics.

There was one thing she didn't notice though.

Her back was to him so she didn't see.

She didn't see how Xiao Jiuyan's sharp black eyes perused her body.

He looked as though he was ready to jump her.

He was equal parts fascinated and confused at the effect this little lady has on him.

Perhaps, the Gu family raised her right and she was not as useless as he thought.

At Tongcheng University...

Guan Xi's head was spinning after a full day of taking exams.

Gu Wenxi was an underachiever, but in order to show off her social status, she paid her way into Tongcheng University and took up finance as her major. When Guan Xi was forced to take her identity to be Master Jiu's wife, that apparently included taking her classes too.

That situation ended up sucking for Guan Xi since Gu Wenxi flunked five classes last semester. Now, she was the one who was forced to take all of the make-up exams instead of her richer and more annoying twin.

'What a clusterf*ck!'

Suddenly, the phone in her bag rang.

It was Producer Xu telling her to hurry over to the set to continue the stunt.

She promised that she'll be there before hanging up.

She looked at the time. It was a little late to take the bus so she would have to take a taxi just to make it in time.

Her heart actually ached at the thought of taking a taxi.

The trip from Tongcheng University to the film studio would cost her more than thirty yuan. That was way out of her budget.

However, she could not also afford to be late.

Guan Xi hurried to the school gate and stopped a taxi.

Just as she was about to get in the car, a hand blocked her entrance and closed the door.

Guan Xi frowned and turned to see who the interloper was. It was Xiao Jingming.

Gu Wenxi got the better of him last night. He had to run around the villa 100 times just because of her pitiful damsel act. It nearly killed him. Today, he was out to get his revenge.

With gritted teeth, he said, "I'm here to get even for what you put me through last night."

"Young Master Xiao, I... I don't know what you're talking about." Guan Xi feigned looking confused. "What did I do last night?"

Her expression and tone made it seem like nothing had happened last night and that she was merely an innocent girl who had been bullied by Xiao Jingming.

"Gu Wenxi, don't play games with me. You f*cking set me up and then you had the gall to mock me."

Xiao Jingming's anger blazed with renewed fervor as he recalled the events of last night.

He didn't expect Gu Wenxi, who used to suck up to men at school, to stand up to him last night. She even dared to set him up in front of his uncle! When he woke up this morning, his legs were shaking, and it took him several attempts to get up out of his bed.

The only reason he showed up to school today was because he knew that his uncle would surely punish him for skipping.

Xiao Jingming threatened fiercely, "Gu Wenxi, if you don't kneel and apologize to me right now, I assure you, I will make your life a living hell."

Behind Xiao Jingming, a rich young man piped, "Young Master Xiao, it's not appropriate for a girl to kneel before you."

Guan Xi and Xiao Jiuyan were only married in paper, so they kept a low profile on their relationship.

Except for the Xiao family and the Gu family, almost no one knew about their marriage. So no one at school knew the relation between Gu Wenxi and Xiao Jingming.
