16 A Crucial Decision

"The government has just issued a state of emergency in the School District. A large scale assault has been organized by the Villain Alliance and they are currently being faced alone by the hero Blue Flame."

In the student council room, the students were sitting around the table looking pensive. They were looking at the broadcast of a fight taking place, not far from Mobius High School. 8 villains with powerful quirks were causing rampant destruction before being confronted by the hero Blue Flame.

However, the Blue Flame looked to be in trouble. He seemed to have sustained severe life-threatening injuries, bleeding severely from several places. His flame too had turned into an incandescent yellow from the powerful blue flames he usually displayed.

"He is in trouble.", Lily suddenly said. "That hero is going to die, and no other hero is present. It looks like he was ambushed."

"If those villains come here, many students lives will be in danger as well. Should we not try to help?" Sarah asked with a hint of worry.

"Putting ourselves in danger by trying to intercept them will only create problems for others. The government has special people to handle such situations. They should arrive on the scene." Diana said coldly. "We are students, we can't break the law."

At that time Adrian suddenly banged the table with all his strength, causing it to crack. Electricity surged through his body as his eyes turned blue for a moment.

"I... need to save that fool!" He yelled out, before standing up in urgency.

"Woah, what the f%$# ?", Roman cried out. "What happened to you man?"

"Adrian, calm down! What are you trying to do?" Delilah screamed as Adrian was trying to dart out from the student council room, however, Diana had already teleported in front of the door and blocked his path. Lily did the same by reaching there moments later, lightning fast.

"Did you finally go crazy?" Lily asked. "You are going to try and save that hero? He is a criminal! Not to mention you aren't sanctioned to fight in public! Against villains, of all people!"

"You won't understand!" Adrian retorted stubbornly. "I just need to save him! I have to go no matter what."

"Like hell you are!" Diana said as she smiled a toothy grin, cracking her knuckles and preparing a combat stance to stop Adrian. However, Adrian did not care, he had to go no matter what!

"Dude, stop! Will you even fight against your own friends now?" Roman tried to mediate between the two groups. Delilah too tried to do the same.

"Adrian, please let me calm you down first. Let me use healing on everyone." She said, as she suddenly started glowing white and sun rays started falling on the others. Delilah's healing ability also had the side effect of calming minds, and she hoped she can cool them off a bit.

After the glow ended, the situation had partially calmed down for a moment. Adrian, who looked like he would explode thunder on everyone calmed down, however, a flash of urgency still flashed in his eyes. He realized he had no time to waste.

"Zeke is Blue Flame. He is going to die if I waste any more time. I need to go and save him."

"Sh*t!" Lily swore. 'No wonder! Things are finally starting to make sense!' she thought to herself.

Diana who was still ready to have a go against Adrian stopped, her mouth agape with surprise. She remembered the discussion they had had recently about that boy who had changed the order in the school to some extent. A low rank who exceeded his limits to be stronger. Somehow she thought back to her own promise with her master - Ryan, a promise that needed her to exceed her own limits to accomplish. Weren't they similar in a way? Moreover, Blue Flame, wasn't he considered one of the best among the heroes who cared about everyone? He was this kid?

"Ok, I will help you. But do you even have a plan beyond charging in like an idiot?" Diana suddenly said.

When Diana said that everyone else was shocked, with the exception of Sarah, who had never moved from her seat on the table. She simply nodded.

"I too am willing to help Adrian. Moreover, I somehow feel the government is being suspiciously quiet to scope out the situation and get clues on these organizations, even at the extent of collateral damage, We can't let other students in the school be harmed."

"You idiots..." Lily bitterly cried out. "If 'we' need to do this, then we need to hide our identities. Can you imagine the shitstorm it would cause if legacy family children turned into freaking vigilantes? What a d*mn mess."

"Roman, can you and Delilah stand guard here? We need you here to keep off anyone who might become suspicious." Adrian asked gently, but his eyes held determination in them.

"Uhuh", Delilah nodded with a smile. She was happy that her friends did not fight, however, she was worried about what was going to happen.

Sarah suddenly went towards a closed wooden shelf in the corner before opening it.

"There are some costumes from the horror show of the last year's student festival in here. Everyone, wear it on quickly. Blue Flame looks like he cannot last more than a few minutes."

"Good thinking Sarah! Everyone, please do not use applications of your ability that can be easily associated with yourselves. We go in, take that stupid boy out. I will teleport everyone near the location." Diana said as she looked around the place where the attack was taking place in the live stream of the situation. "Form a circle around me."

Adrian, Lily, and Sarah surrounded Diana, all of them were in costumes. They collectively sighed.

"Let's us go.", Diana said as a portal formed beneath their feet, swallowing them up.

Zeke had somehow been miraculously holding on. However, he was very clear about the situation. It was a one-sided whitewash. They were playfully injuring him, using him as a ball to hit around. As he saw people on the streets, severely injured and some even dead, his heart pained.

'Just like there would be no Hero Association without a Villain Alliance, wouldn't there be no Villain Alliance without a Hero Association? Was this my fault?' Zeke wondered in his heart.

His body was covered in painful bruises. The flesh had torn off in parts and he was quickly losing blood.

'I guess this is the end.' He sighed again. 'There is nothing I can do at this point.'

The villains saw the fallen shoulders of the man who called himself a hero and got bored.

"He only lasted this long, forget it. Let us finish him off." The laser shooting villain grumbled.
