2 Collin Meet Katerina

Collin's POV

I stood there speechless. Unable to move let alone process anything as shock rang through my body. How long has been? Four, maybe 5 years? Who am I kidding? I know exactly how how long it's been since I've laid eyes on the girl who held my heart.

Six and a half years ago

I was running through the halls to get to class. Late again. The head master was not going to be happy with me. I was so engrossed with reaching my class that I did not see a girl open the door to step out into the hall. I knocked her over with my force, tripping over her as we both crashed into the ground .

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you, please let me help you." I reached out to help her when she suddenly pushed me away.

"You stay away from me!" She yelled. Her eyes were blaring red as tears slowly formed. I sat there shocked since I was not expecting that reaction. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. She was mighty angry and it seemed like I was the cause.

"Just because your the class representative doesn't mean you can literally step over everyone. " she jumps up and runs off, leaving no choice but to continue to class.

I could not pay attention to anything that was said all morning as my thoughts were on her. Question after question swirled in my head. Who was she again? She came out of my class room so we must be in the same class.

It's the middle of the school year, and I know almost everyone in our class pretty well. Why was she so mad? Did I cause her some harm? But most importantly, why did she not come back to class?

I sat there with my friends at lunch time, giving each other a hard time about everything. Before finishing my lunch, I turned to Riley, one of my best friends.

"Hey, Riley, you know the girl that left this morning? Who was she?"

Riley sat there staring at me, looking like he'd just seen his grandmother who passed away a year ago.

"What did you just ask me?" He asked in disbelief.

"You heard me," I said slowly looking around as everyone suddenly got quieter. 'Did I hit my head that hard? Maybe I should go to the nurse and have her check my head out. Why is everyone acting so weird all of a sudden?' I thought to myself since I was getting anywhere with him.

"Col, buddy, are you okay?" My other good friend Sky asked with concern.

" Um, I thought so but now I'm not so sure. I did just hit my head as I crashed into someone this morning but now everything is not making any sense. " I replied slowly. "I'm going to see the nurse" I added as I got up from the table.

Things were not any better at the nurses station.

"Collin, sweetly, you need to rest and take it easy for the next few days. It looks like you got a pretty bad concussion." The nurse tried to keep me calm but I was just really getting more frustrated.

"I'm going to message the head master and the other professors about you taking a few days to rest. " she continued.

" I few days!" I yelled. " I can't be gone that long! "

"Sweety! " the nurse said authoritatively. Never in all her years of being a school nurse had she ever heard a child complain about taking a few day's off of school.

"Sorry, nurse Stacy," I said calming down. "I don't know what came over me, I'll do as you say. " Since I didn't have any other choice, I was just going to have to wait it out. Seeing that girl again was going to have to wait.
