1 Need For A New Manager

New York is a business hub in America known for various businessmen coming in and out. Among them is a young Charming prince in a suit with well-trimmed hair. He is the president of a multimillion-dollar industry and an eligible bachelor, loved and chased by all ladies.

His name is Nathaniel Slater, young and handsome.

He steps out from his Range rover looking all elegant and charming.

"Sir, we have a problem!" A lady said, rushing out of the company at full speed as if being chased.

She is Quinn Harvey, the best worker in the industry so far. She's always diligent and hardworking, nothing matters more than seeing the company's progress.

"What?" Nathan's tone is bland, void of any emotions but Quinn is used to it. Ever since his mom got ill, he has been aloof and cold towards all. Spending his time in his shell, wallowing in his pain.

"The company is in a big mess, we are..." Quinn kept on ranting, going around the bush yet nothing was coming out.

Nathan stares at Quinn, boredom written all over his face."What's so big that you can't find the words to tell me, Quinn? You know how much I hate being left in suspense" He is annoyed.

"It's about, Mr. Richard... He... He is gone!"She breathes out the words, and Nathan frowns, frozen in his steps.

"What do you mean by he is gone, Quinn?" His voice was surprisingly low, and his gaze on Quinn demanded a quick answer.

"We can't find him anywhere, he's not in town at the moment," Quinn explains in fright, she knows what Nathan is capable of doing.

He's been gloomy throughout the week and his temperance won't make things any better.

Nathan's facial expressions are beyond description, he neither seems angry nor happy. There was more to what he wasn't showing.

"Get hold of all the airports, halt all their activities!" His tone is solid and commanding," No one leaves unless I say so"

Quinn knows better than to disobey. She hasn't made mention of the amount of money Richard took along with him, " this is bad!" She murmured, heading inside the building at full speed.

"Any news?"Quinn shot at the brown-haired guy as she approached him.

"No, ma'am, we are unable to track him," the guy informed, eyes focused on the screen as his fingers clicked on the keyboard nonstop.

Quinn sighs as she quickly assigned him, "get hold of all the airports, seaports and other means of traveling out of the country, there should be an immediate lockdown" she walks to her desk, pull out a file

"Luckily I got hold of these files" she breathes out, staring at the papers in her hands.

" Ma'am, the post for the job notice is set, should we make it go live?"A blond-haired girl said, pulling Quinn from her trance.

"No, not yet," Quinn denies. There is no way she can proceed with anything without letting Nathan know.

"I have to get the boss's permission, first... Wait for my signal "with that, she left.

Nathan quietly sits in his office lost in thoughts. He can't believe he is about to lose the only person he's ever loved, "no, I can't let this happen!"He speaks out, unable to come to terms with his life.

The knock on the door was enough to bring him back to earth, "come in" he commands in a firm tone.

Quinn walks in and takes a seat. She didn't need him to tell her, they'd known each other for years now.

Even though she can't boastfully say they are friends, at least, they are above the new boss and employee level.

"He took away all that was invested in the project," Quinn said, silent reign between them.

Nathan's gaze was on the beautiful view of New York, he seemed so cool as if it was nothing.

"How much?"He asked, still not looking at her.

"Five hundred million" Quinn sounds frightened. Her voice was so soft at the mention of the amount Richard embezzled.

She is sweating out, she could feel it. Her palms are super wet to the point she feels like water will drip off at any moment.

"What do you have in mind?"Nathan seems so carefree, his gaze falls on her for the first time, and out of instinct, Quinn trembles.

There is something in those eyes of his she can't get enough of, " I... I am thinking, ``I want to..."She stutters, unsure of what to say.

"You are the only one I can trust right now, David is here and I need you to say something" Nathan's voice was soft, low, and pleading.

He had no strength to think of a solution to this big problem, his life right now is so unsure and uncertain. He can't tell his stand.

For some reason, Quinn could feel her heart-tugging at his words. " Common now, stop playing around and say something"She forces herself to stay calm as she tries to get good ideas.

"Right now, we don't know where he is and we can't sit back and do nothing," Quinn said, " lucky for us, I got hold of the project files"

She looked a little bit unsure of what she was about to say next. Nathan's gaze never left her, he quietly listen to what she had to say

"I propose we create a job vacancy to start searching for someone worthy and trustworthy enough to get the post of manager as soon as possible" She explains, " we will be in a big mess if this project is not completed as per the time we agreed with the clients"

"How sure are you that this will help out?"Nathan asked. Deep down, he knows it's the only best option but he, of course, wants to know her level of trust in her ideas.

Quinn takes in a deep breath, "can't say what lies ahead, it's left up to the output and what we receive"

Nathan slumps into his seat, tirelessly. "Be sure of the choices and decisions you make, plan for your tomorrow before it says otherwise" he was telling her, Quinn nods in affirmation.

"Go on and post the job vacancy, whoever comes in should be sent directly to me"Nathan informs.

He wants to be the one taking whoever is coming in for the interview.

"Ok, bet to take my leave now!"Quinn stood up and walks to the door only to stop

"Mind having a cup of hot less sugary coffee?"She asked.

"Never mind, I'm good" Nathan has no appetite for anything. Nothing seems colorful to him.

With that, Quinn shot close the door behind them. Nathan stares at the closed door with a blank expression on his face.

"Ma'am, I'm so sorry... I mistakenly post the job vacancies without knowing"the blonde hair lady cries,

"It's ok, Boss approves of it so it's fine" Quinn smiles, clearing out the lady's stressed face.

She breathed out in relief, "thank goodness!"The blonde-haired lady exclaims, holding her pounding chest.

"Any reaction to the post?"Quinn asked, just then a lady walked in in a purple trouser suit as if being agreed upon, Nathan walked out of the elevator and was met with her beautiful self standing before him.
