“Maybe, just maybe we’re being unfair to Aamiya forcing her into this. What if she doesn’t want Asfand as her husband?” Her father spoke to her mom.

“You haven't seen the way she is these days. She can’t stand a day without him and you are going on about her not accepting him. She just needs to accept the truth and start thinking of him as her husband. She’ll be fine.”

Asfand spoke to Dad, he said that the wedding was a must if he wanted Aamiya to accept him anytime soon.

The wedding took place 15 days later. Aamiya looked gorgeous and didn’t put up much of a fight after she had seen their childhood Nikah pictures. She didn’t know what she wanted, the right of choosing her spouse was taken from her. She stopped thinking and let things go with their flow.

On their wedding night, Aamiya and Asfand entered the room and quietly got ready to sleep. Aamiya hadn’t spoken much to him. She looked so forlorn sitting on the bed, that Asfand couldn’t handle it. He went and sat on his side of the bed, “Doll, I am not expecting anything from you, try to relax and sleep.”

Tears welled up in her eyes and she moved towards him. Asfand pulled her closer and onto his lap with her face tucked away in her neck. Asfand hugged her tightly, “Don’t cry, baby. You know it hurts me to see you cry.”

Aamiya pulled back and looked into his eyes, “I am losing my mind. I don’t know how to deal with this change.”

Asfand stared at her, “Give us a chance, if you still don’t want me, I will let you go.” Knowing that letting her go would mean that he would die. For him, living without her wasn’t possible. She was his life.

Aamiya nodded and placed her head on his shoulder. A while later, it was evident that she had dozed off in his arms. The effect of his touch was still the same, even though a lot had changed.

Asfand spoke to her dad the next day. “Dad, I want to take her away for a few days.”

“Tell me where, I’ll book your tickets.” Dad said.

“No, not that far. I was thinking of making a trip to Murree. She likes it and I want to be able to return whenever required.” He said and Dad agreed.

Aamiya wore a beautiful grey gown for the reception. She looked quite like a doll. Asfand fought to resist her. He couldn’t take his eyes off her, even after a glance.

Aamiya’s mother was used to him getting lost, looking at her. He really was crazy for her. Her mother shook her head at him, smiling widely.

“Aamiya, you’re our daughter. We never would've put you in a situation knowing it would hurt you. He loves you a lot and we know it. No one can make you happier than him. You're not sure of your feelings yet, which is why I want you to focus on them on this trip. Trust me, you will get all the answers you seek.” Her mother spoke softly to Aamiya, making her nod.

After the reception was held, the new couple packed and left for Murree.
