A few months later,

Asfand was on a call, when Aamiya went to him in the living room. She waited for a moment and pouted when she realized his call would take longer to finish. Still pouting, she started to go away when Asfand caught her hand and pulled her into his lap. Showing no resistance, she sighed and buried her head in his shoulder. Asfand continued his conversation and kept stroking her arm. When finished, he kissed her forehead and asked. “What happened to my doll?”

He had a vague idea as to what was going on, she was getting tired a lot lately and had missed her menstrual cycle for about 2 months. She hadn’t noticed but he did.

“I’m just feeling down.” She said with a pout.

“Is that so? Why don’t we go for a long drive?” He asked lovingly, making her smile.

He took her to the doctor first. “Why are we here?” She asked in confusion.

“Because we need confirmation.” He said with a smile and took her inside.

It was thus confirmed that Aamiya was 9 weeks pregnant. Asfand was beaming in happiness. When they informed their family of the news, the whole house was bursting with joy. There was a baby arriving in the family after so long.

7 months later, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, who they named Zarmeenay.

3 years later,

Asfand was busy doing work in the lounge, Zarmeenay was playing beside him. But Asfand’s focus was completely on Aamiya, she was talking to her mother about some kind of jewelry. He felt his daughter tapping his leg, making him pick her up and put her in his lap.

“What’s up, my princess?” He asked, kissing her chubby cheeks. Her features resembled Aamiya’s, except the eyes which were Asfand’s.

“Nothin’, do you wove mumma a wot?” Zarmeenay asked curiously.

He stared at his daughter, “Yes, I do.” Zarmeenay gave him a big smile. It was true, he loved Aamiya more than anything, and his love just increased every day.

“I also have someone like that?” Zarmeenay asked again, making him chuckle.

“I hope so.” He prayed and kissed her head.

2 years later,

Aamiya was sitting and talking to her mother in the sitting area, whereas Zarmeenay was in school. It was around 10 o’clock.

Asfand had gone to a seminar, where they were suddenly attacked by a group of terrorists. They were killing people in the blink of an eye. Asfand was in a room full of students, the fear visible on each face. He knew that it wouldn’t take long for the terrorists to come into their room as well.

He took a deep breath and started speaking. “I want all of you to quickly leave through the back door. The Army has already surrounded the building, they will save us in no time.”

Hearing movement out the front door, he ordered them to move quickly through the back. As he himself made a move to leave, 2 terrorists blocked his way.

“Listen to me..” He spoke slowly, his hands splayed outwards and trying to buy some time.
