32 Engagement

Her back hit the wall, as she was trembling in fear because of his close proximity. He was so angry that his veins were popping out from his neck, his jaw was clenched.

Her eyes were continuously looking down at her fingers, playing with them because of the nervousness. She didn't dare to look at him and that made him even more pissed and he yelled at her

"Look at me!"

She still didn't muster the courage to look at his evil eyes, so she kept her head low, squeezing herself into the wall. His hot and raging breath was all over her face.

In an instant, he moved more closer, flushing his body against her.

A whimper escaped her mouth and she put her hands on his chest to create some distance but he didn't even budged.

She is usually very daring in front of everyone but now his eyes filled with rage and the closeness was making it difficult for her to keep a hold on her sanity.

His proximity, his musky cinnamon scent, everything was too much for her.

She finally got the courage to say something and said

"M- move away!"

She closed her eyes in fear and didn't dare to utter another word as she heard him growl. Her blood was freezing in her body because of fear, in fear that he will hurt her. She slowly felt rough fingers caressing her cheek and she jolted in her place, stifling a sob.

He came closer to her face and said

"If I ever see you hanging out with that man again…

I will break your legs."

Just as he said that anger completely took over her.

Her mouth went wide as she realized what he just said to her. No one has ever dared to even raise their voice at her and here he was threatening her. She clenched her jaw and breathed fast to reduce her anger but it was of no use. She glared at him hard and yelled at him while he was also looking straight into her eyes.

"Zen, who do you think you are?

You're so used to bossing around that you really think I am afraid of you?"

It was her first time calling Zen through his name and it felt so good to him. His name rolled so well on her tongue and he felt a little tickling sensation in his stomach.

For a second, he just forgot that she was misbehaving with him and just thought about how it will feel when he will go to the office and when he will come back, Javi will say to him with love and care in her eyes

"Zen, you are back. Go and freshen up then we will eat dinner."

He was looking at Javi but his mind was somewhere else. He always wanted a happy family and when he looked at Javi he got the feeling that he has a family now with whom he will live happily ever after.

He was in his thoughts when Javi pushed him with all her might and he stumbled back and let go of her. She straightened herself and was just about to leave when Zen snapped out of his thoughts and held her wrist. She turned around and saw Zen's pleading eyes.

She melted when she saw his pleading face, all her anger flew away in a second.

Her eyes softened and she felt helpless as she sighed.

She hated the fact that she was now feeling helpless in front of a guy who was rude to her a minute ago but with his one pleading look she melted.

Her heart melted when she saw her husband's pleading face.

She snatched her wrist out of his hand and went over to the bed.

She sighed before finally sitting on the bed with a big pout and her arms crossed which rested on her chest.

Zen was analyzing her every move and he realized that she had melted just by his one look.

He bit in his chuckle as a slow, small smirk appeared on his cold face. His eyes filled with mischief.

"How naive."

He thought as his dominance growled at her innocence.

He also went over to the bed and sat beside her. She pushed herself away from him a little as she was angry with him but he also pushed himself a little towards her.

She snapped her eyes at him and gritted her teeth and Zen said to her.

"I am sorry, I shouldn't have done that

But yet again why were you with that man?"

Javi's eyes widened as she now realized that Zen was jealous. There was now a complete silence in the room as Zen was waiting for her answer and Javi was busy realizing the situation. Soon her laughter was heard in the room and Zen became shocked but then when he looked at her, his heart missed a beat and his breathing hitched.

Javi had a spark of something. He couldn't quite name it but he really liked it and just couldn't get enough of it.

He watched Javi laugh in an awestruck and soon he also joined.

Both of their laughs were now heard in the room making the atmosphere which was deadly a minute ago, quite lively and cheerful. She tried to suppress her giggling but ended up bursting into loud laughter.

His cheeks flushed red when her hand went on his hand.

Just by her single touch, he was feeling so happy and his heartbeat increased.

Her hair, her smile, her happy face, everything was just too much for him, and his palms became sweaty because of the nervousness.

He took her both hands in his hands and pushed her closer to him.

Her laugh stopped as her forehead hit his chest.

Her face reddened but then she looked at him with a hint of mischievousness in her eyes and said.

"You were jealous. Awww."

He started blushing at this and the corner of his ears turned bright red.

Javi saw his ears and again started laughing. Zen pushed her more closer and her laugh died. She gulped hard when she saw him this close. His lips were just an inch away from hers and if she moved anything could have happened, so she restrained herself from moving. He spoke and his lips nearly touched her lips which caused a tingling sensation in her stomach.

"Yes I am jealous and please don't meet with boys again."

She was really happy that he was jealous because of her. It meant that he really loved her and that's why he was jealous when she was just talking with a boy. So she decided to explain herself and clear the misunderstanding.

"He was just Zila's friend and he was congratulating me for my marriage, you jealous boy."

He rolled his eyes but didn't let go of her hands and made a small pout to show that he still didn't like it. Javi let out a low chuckle but then nodded which caused a big smile to appear on Zen's lips.

He, at last, let go of her hands and pushed his hand in the pocket of his pants, and then after some time, he pulled out a small black box.

He opened that box and pulled out a really beautiful ring which had a silver band.

A big heart-shaped diamond rested on the band and on its sides, two small round-shaped diamonds were there, making the ring look more expensive and royal.

The ring shined when the light fell on it and Javi's face brightened up when she saw that attractive ring.

He took Javi's left hand and slipped the ring in her ring finger.

Her face shined with a bright smile on her lips seeing the ring, which now rested on her finger in all its glory.

Zen also smiled when he realized that she liked the ring but still wanted to ask her, so he asked

"Do you like it?"

She abruptly nodded her head with a big smile and hugged him. He also hugged her back and pushed her closer to himself while saying.

"This is our engagement ring, never ever take it off. It's a request!"

Javi said while pulling herself back but Zen's arms still wrapped around her waist protectively.

"I will never take it off. It's a promise and I will give you your ring tomorrow."

He smiled and hugged her tighter and she giggled while her head rested on his shoulder.

"I love your giggles," Zen said.

She snuggled in his arms as she felt shy but at the same time happy as she has such a good husband. Zen was angry at her first but when she explained everything to him, he melted and just let it go.
