17 17 | Happiness With Them

Sienna snapped her fingers in front of me. "Mate, did you listen to a word I said?" I shook my head. "Liam will handle your kitchen, I will do your living room, you do your bedroom," she said. "Clear?" Liam and I nodded our heads. "Now get off, I have work to do."

Liam and I separated ways and I began to tackle my room which looked like an earthquake had hit it.

It felt like an eternity ever since I started cleaning this room.

"Ey, drongo, what in the world happened to this place?" she called out.

I stopped gathering the broken pieces of glass on the floor.

She doesn't know?

"Sienna! I already told you about it!" Liam yelled.

Everything was silent for a moment. I peeked over my shoulder for a moment and saw Sienna frowning at nothing, this meant she was thinking deeply.

"Oh crap!" she exclaimed. "Adrianne, I'm sorry about that. I forgot about– yeah, sorry."

"It's fine!" I yelled.

"Bummer, I've never met auntie." she pouted. "Only seen her on TV."

"She was the greatest," Liam told her.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, she treated me like her own."

"Dang."

I stood still for a moment. Mom, you sure are missing out on a lot.

"Say, d'you happen to have a speaker? Let's play some music. It's rather boring in here." Her voice ripped through my thoughts. I turned around and saw she was leaning on the doorframe.

I nodded. "Computer table, grab it there."

A few minutes passed and music started playing. Music that hyped us up. Well, more like me. Then she suddenly changed the song.

"Ey! Dancing in the moonlight! Take me down like I'm a domino!" Sienna sang.

I raised my eyebrows at her. "Seriously? Domino?"

"What?" she asked while dancing.

"You used to play this while I was studying for exams and there you were, dancing as if there was no tomorrow." I laughed, recalling the memory.

"You were quite the addict," Liam butted in.

"What makes you say that?" Sienna crossed her arms across her chest.

"Uh because you both video-called me, almost every day," he replied, chuckling.

"Yup, and he would soon complain about the music and Sienna's awful dancing." I laughed and pointed at Sienna.

"And singing!" Liam added.

Her face flushed red. "If you two weren't my friends, I would have choked you to death."

I stuck my tongue out at her and smiled. I missed hanging out with these two.

By the time we were all finished with cleaning, we all collapsed on the couch.

"Who's ready for a movie?" Sienna suggested.

Liam and I raised our hands. "I'll handle the popcorn." I jumped up and headed to the kitchen.

"I'll get the blankets!" Liam said.

I grabbed popcorn and put it in the microwave. As I was inputting the number of minutes, a loud thud disrupted me. I turn around and see Liam on the floor, blankets to his chest.

Sienna burst out laughing. "You silly goose! You didn't see my foot did ya?"

I snorted. These dorks. They're like children.

Liam rolled around on the ground. "What're you doin' Liam? Are you a dog now?" Sienna teased.

I smiled at these two before grabbing the popcorn from inside the microwave. Earlier, we threw out the expired food and bought new ones. I grabbed a ceramic bowl from one of the cupboards and poured the popcorn in. I went back to where everyone was seated and held the bowl in my lap.

"So, what're we watching?" I asked.

"Who's up for no sleep tonight?" She scrolled through Netflix. Liam and I raised our hands. "The Exorcist it is," she concluded.

My eyes widened and glanced at Liam, sliding my finger across my neck. And so, I spent the next couple of hours screaming, being paranoid, and refusing to go sleep.

We eventually stayed up late and they decided to stay over at my place. We opened up some wine bottles and ordered three boxes of pizza. We all just talked about the recent months. Mainly me. All we talked about was the whole incident with Sebastian. About the night at the club, us acting out our engagement, and our wedding. They weren't afraid to let their opinions be known. Especially Liam.

"You know, I've only known him for a few days and I could tell he's a bastard." Liam clenched his fists.

"Gee, you look like you're ready to beat up the guy." Sienna took a sip of her wine.

"Wouldn't you?" he asked, chugging down his glass.

Sienna shrugged her shoulders. "I'm not the beating up type. I'd rather claw out his eyes."

"I think that's worse," Liam muttered.

"What you two are thinking of are still bad, so stop," I butted in.

They threw each other glances. "No guarantee," they said in unison.

"Of course."

"So Liam, heard you were going to build a house for your family." Sienna averted her gaze to him.

Liam placed his glass on the table and clasped his hands together. "Yeah, actually."

"Good job making it this far," Sienna said, cheerfully. "Before you were breaking down almost every day, it's either about your thesis or exams."

He laughed. "Good times."

"Now, you have to live life. You have to fight everything that it throws in your way," I added.

"Aw, drongo, is it okay if I ask something?" Sienna chose her words carefully.

"Shoot."

"How did you find out?" she leaned closer to me, placing a hand on my knee.

I pulled my knees to my chest, hugging them tightly. A fresh set of tears rose to my eyes. A tear fell on its own accord and soon, a lot more followed. I wiped away the tears that fell. Few tears remained, forgetting the path that was swept beneath them. A salty release slipped into my mouth giving me a taste of my sorrow.

Bitter. Unforgiving. Pain.

"It was the worst day ever," I finally spoke after what seemed like minutes of silence.

Liam smacked Sienna on her arm and she yelped. "Strewth! What's your problem, wombat?!"

"Wombat? Nevermind, we've talked about this Sienna!" Liam whisper-yelled.

"I know! I know!" She turned to me, "Adrianne, sorry for asking that."

"It's fine, Sienna." I wiped away more tears and sniffled.

My phone started ringing and the two frowned at me. "I thought no phones?" Liam asked, taking a slice of pizza out of the box.

"Forgot to turn it off. I promise after this I'll turn it off, let me just take this." I stood and grabbed the phone from the drawer.

I checked the caller I.D. and instantly, a scowl made its way to my face. "What?" I answered.

"Where the hell are you?" he asked.

"In the 'none of your business' land, why'd you ask?"

"When are you coming home?" he asked again, this time his voice reminded me of that of a little boy's.

"Why would I come home to where you are? I'm sure you don't want emotional bitches." I looked at my nails.

He sighed on the other line. "Fine, don't come home. Be like everyone." Then he ends the call.

I raised an eyebrow at my phone. "Is he on his period?"

I turned off my cellphone and went back to the two who were laughing, almost to the point that they were doubling over. "What're you two laughing about?" I grabbed my wine glass on the table.

"Oh, nothing." They wave me off.

"So is it possible you two are maniacs?" I scooted away from them.

"We were just laughing about the dad jokes we found." Liam raised his phone.

"Jokes like what?"

"What clothes do cowboys wear?" Sienna looked at me, face flushed red.

"What?"

"Ranch dressing." the two of them snickered.

I snorted. I have easily amused people for best friends and I'm not complaining.

"Liam, stop tapping her, she'll wake up on her own."A nudge to my ribs makes me jerk awake to see Liam smiling at me. I blink a couple of times before looking at Sienna in the kitchen, humming in a sing-song tune.

"What time is it?" I asked, wiping the saliva off of the side of my mouth.

"It's past twelve. What's up, sleepyhead?" Liam ruffled my hair.

"Food's ready." Sienna placed the cooked food on the table.

It was simply fried rice, fried eggs, and sausages. Sienna could put anything on a dish and still make it delicious to eat. I swear. There were some days she could just put cheese in a microwave and call it a dish. Then, some were filled with creative ideas. Nothing really surprises Liam and I anymore. Nevertheless, we were still excited about supper if it was Sienna cooking.

I just wished that every day it was with them I'd be spending time with and not Sebastian.
