131 Why Would You Lie?

Officer Felix felt absolutely delighted with switching sides. He happily pranced up and down as he watched the news at the safe house. "To think I would have lost my only shot at my dreams if I stuck it out with that witch! Oh Miss Olivia and Mr. Delmira thank you, thank you, thank you for helping in my time of need!" Olivia swallowed back the bile that was threatening to come up while Dexter Coblepot rolled his eyes. Eli ignored the man child and went back to his laptop, furiously typing away on the keys.

"So you'll testify against Ag-n-n.... cough.... Falicia then?" Olivia asked once she calmed her nerves. "Honey I will go swear to the Pope if I have too! I mean it's big daddy... oh... I'm mean Mr. Delmira who's giving me such a handsome reward for all my hard work how can I not repay you with a little help?" He said as he made his way into the bathroom. The safe house that Officer Felix had arranged for Dexter was nothing short of pretensions. They were not that far from the edge of the City, where it was well known for its night life, love hotels, prostitutes and teens trying to prove their worth.

They were staying at the Leak Split, a well known establishment within the LGBT community as a favorite hook up spot for any of their newer members. The place was moderately maintained, the hallways had a grey, textile pattern carpet, the rooms were spacious and decorated as if they should have belonged on the cover of Ell* D*cor magazine. With its slate grey and white colour schemes and fancy marble coloured, swirl ceilings.

"Felix can you guarantee that we won't be ambushed by Falicia's other goons? I mean she just lost her mind in front of so many witnesses! How is she not arrested yet?" Olivia asked as she watched the recap of the noon hour news. "Honey please! I am the police Intel! Nothing gets past me and I pass along all messages. Tweddle Dee and Dumb couldn't figure out the meaning of the bracelet you tossed them and tried to get some outside help. You gotta pick your allies a little bit more carefully sugar, I mean they almost lost the one thing that could prove Ag-Falicia's plans against you."

"Wait! What?!" Olivia said as she tore her eyes away from the screen and Eli stopped typing instantly. Felix stepped out if the bathroom with his pants rolled up into shorts and had a razor in hand. "Oh ya should have told you. Well you know how I struck a deal with A-Falicia first? Well she didn't just agree to my demands of making me a woman just because I was her eyes and ears. You see I also grabbed the bracelet the knuckleheads left at the lab before the fire started. Oh my G*d was Falicia ever furious to find out that her precious Carl Jr. number 3, or whatever his name is, couldn't get the bracelet and started a fire instead! I mean how clueless can you be and Chief Wilhelm was all like 'Oh my little buttercup, you won't have to worry anymore! That evil mind control thing is gone.' Ha! Only if he knew the truth."

"What is the truth?" Dexter asked reluctantly as he stared right at Felix. "Goodness me aren't you just the saddest puppy I have ever seen in my life! Precious, let me give you a big old bear hug to make you feel better!" Felix exclaimed as he took a step forward but Olivia quickly moved and wrapped her arms around Dexter's shoulders. Felix clicked his tongue and grabbed a bag before going back into the bathroom. "You already have Mr. Wonderful at the desk why do you also have to dig your claws into McDreamy Blue Eyes! Honestly I was only going to take a little bite barely a taste."

"Felix!" Olivia and Eli shouted together towards the closed door. "Fine fine. You see Falicia had programmed that bracelet to not only act as a wireless control to the death traps in the warehouse, cameras and PA systems but her 'brilliant Carl' thought 'hey why don't we also record everything you've done!' Like come on, can you really be that stupid?! I mean it's bad enough she keeps trophies of every person she's killed over the years but recordings too! She is one sick woman, let me tell you!"

Dexter's eyes flashed and Olivia tightened her embrace as her blood ran cold. "You mean to say that this bracelet is the key to everything?!" Eli shouted as he stood up. "How did you find out Felix?!" Felix opened the door and walked out, legs clean shaven, a bright, neon pink mini skirt and a black t-shirt. "How can I not know! I mean come on, Intel is my thing! I know who I can take things too and get what I want. So I have a guy who can crack things, like 23 layers of security like it's child's play." Felix said with a shrug.

Olivia could see the wheels turning in Eli's head and with a side smile he sat right back down and started typing again. "What do you mean she keeps trophies?" Dexter said as his body trembled. "Gosh your slow but pretty, just so pretty! See Falicia is what people call a sociopath, or a carnivorous flower. She has the ability to play or lure you into her honey trap and kill you without so much as batting an eye. Once she's done doing her business she keeps a little reminder of her fun time. Some times it's teeth, some times it trinkets and some times it's the dirty murder weapon."

Dexter started to pale at an alarming rate and Olivia tried to snap him out of it. "Hey, hey now look at me. Look at me, it's okay. Do you want to lie down or hold my hand instead?" Dexter shook his head and brought his left hand up to message the bridge of his nose. "No, I'm... I'm going to be fine. I just wish this wasn't real."

"Better believe it's real." A voice said loudly into the room. "Carmen, loved your work today." Eli said with a laugh causing Dexter, Felix and Olivia to turned their gazes towards him. "You don't even know the half of it! I have been flooded with so many emails, phone calls and text messages that I have no idea what to do!" The woman said as she smiled mischievously towards the camera. Olivia could feel Dexter's body tense up and she quickly turned to look at him. Her jaw dropped when she saw the blush spread up his neck across his face and to the tips of his ears. "Carmen I have something new. It seems there is something that will be the last nail on Falicia's-?!"

"Carmen! Carmen! Carmen! Hi I'm Olivia, sorry to interrupt your talk with Eli but I need to know something absolutely important!" Olivia said as she jumped off the bed and pushed Eli aside. "Um yes Miss Olivia?" She answered as sweat started to collect on her forehead. "Your so pretty, so furiously charming and such a great reporter that I need to ask you something for my friend over their, Dexter, he seems to be your biggest fan and I think he's dying to know... are you single?" Olivia said excitedly as she motioned for Dexter to come closer.

Carmen started laughing, her cheeks slightly flushed and she wiped some tears from her eyes. "Your so cute I wasn't expecting this type of-of... of... oh... wow... hi... um I... cough.... hic... oh my G*d... hiccup, I have the hiccups! I can't belie-hic this!" She said as she flushed a deep red and hid her face with her hands. She moved apart some fingers so she could peak through the gaps. "I-hiccup can't hic talk right hic now. Call hic later!" She said as her fingers started to turn red. She turned the camera away and soon a brown skinned, slightly built man was taking a bite of pizza. "Pe-ma wut you doing?" He said as he swallowed his food.

Dexter clenched his jaw when he saw the other man. "Sorry, sorry, I swear I was listening. Yes my prima is very, very, very single and she would love a date between her the blue eyed-! Aye! Aye! aye! I'm sorry but seeing you turn this red is so new and refreshing, I couldn't help but tease, aye p*ta it hurts! I swear I'm done making fun just let go of my arm already!" Gerson yelled as he tried to pry off Carmen's crimson fingers from under his upper arm. "Sorry Carmen can't talk right now she seems to have found her femininity, Aye! Okay already! But how can I be of assistance in this particular matter?"

...

"So to some it up, you have people coming to pick us up and now we have to go on a mission to find a, a piece of jewelry? This is crazy, how can we even trust you and chase something that has what?! The same properties as the Holy Grail?!" Eli grabbed Olivia and snuggled her against his chest. "I have no reason to lie to you or your cousin. I honestly do value Autumn's judgement on the two of you and think that you are the only ones who can do this." A hand covered the camera and muffled voice could be heard. After a few moments, the hand was removed and Carmen appeared on the screen.

"We except your offer Mr. Delmira and will be more then happy to get the Holy Grail of jewelry back. I got a score to settle with that-ah.... oh... um.... Falicia and hope we can bring her to justice together.... I don't need extra money what you gave us is fine... I just want to be there when the babies are born... that's all." Carmen said as she turned her gaze towards Gerson and fiddled with her fingers. Gerson face palmed himself and groaned as his cousin suddenly transformed into a shy school girl. "And a date."

Everyone present turned to face Dexter as he spoke his mind. Carmen squeaked when she heard the word date and forced herself to look directly into the camera. Dexter gulped causing his Adam's apple to move up and down. "I want a date with you Ms. Marroquin. After everything has settled I mean." Carmen's face flushed a even deeper shade of red Olivia thought that her blood vessels would pop from the pressure. She unconsciously nodded her head and Dexter started grinning from ear to ear. "Fantastic!" Was all he could say before Carmen's eyes rolled back and she fainted.

Then someone knocked on the door. Gerson started to panic. "Crap! Crap, crap, crapity crap, crap! I swear we are usually more professional then this. Look dreamy blue eyes get her number from Mr. Delmira, we will keep in touch once we find what we are looking for!" He said in a panic before he cut the connection. Felix started to laugh then Olivia couldn't hold it in either. "She is so cute!" She said as she wiped away her tears. "See I got some good eyes, dubbing you McDreamy Blue Eyes. It was completely appropriate." Felix said as he held onto the bathroom frame.

Dexter brought his big hand upwards and swept his golden strawberry blonde hair back. The pink hue never left his cheeks as he kept grinning like a fool. Eli grabbed Olivia's hand and gently messaged the back of it with his thumb. "With this I think your curse will be broken." Olivia froze and she turned to look at Eli. Her mouth moved up and down but no words came out. Eli waited patiently as she swallowed back saliva to moisten her throat. "You believed me?" She asked awkwardly but Eli turned her hand over and kissed her palm while looking her square in the eyes. "Why would you lie?"

Olivia could feel her knees go weak but Eli quickly caught her. "Felix can you go to the vending machine and get her a juice please?" Eli said as he quickly tried to fish out some change from his pocket. Dexter held up his hand and passed Felix a $5 bill. Felix reluctantly took the bill and stood rooted to his spot. "You know the first steps in changing yourself is being true to yourself." Dexter said as he walked over and placed a hand onto his shoulder. Felix hugged himself and trembled as he stared at his feet.

"What if people stare?" He whispered but it was so quiet in the room it might as well have been a roar. "So what? One thing I learned about making sweets is some people love it, others hate it. What matters is what you believe in and the rest kinda falls in line." Felix gave a small nod and lifted his head up. He took two steps forward and found that he wanted to hug himself just a little longer before he got enough nerve to walk out the door. "You know pink suits you pretty well." Dexter said, making Felix look back and give him a big smile. "Sure does!" He said and went for the door. As soon as he stepped out, Eli lifted Olivia up and carried her over to the bed. "You believed me and helped me." Olivia started to whimper but Eli started to stroke her hair. "I would believe anything you told me. Expect you telling me you don't love me or these babies aren't mine. Other then that I would believe you."

Olivia wrapped her arms around his neck and quietly cried. "Sakura's gone." She whispered into his ear and snuggled up against his neck before more tears rolled down her cheeks. "Now what do we do." He asked as he started to embrace her back. "Nothing for now."
