89 Come Find Me

Olivia ran as fast as she could down the street, she was mindful to not drop the phone and to take care of the little one in her womb. As she ran past street corners she caught sight of police officers stopping pedestrian. She had no time to be stopped and questioned so she she took a quick detour into an alley.

It was dark and grimy, she had to swallow the bile that threatened to creep up her throat as she remembered what almost happened the last time she was in an alley. She turned on the smart phone and opened up the search engine. Relief washed over her when she saw that the phone could connect but felt her heart plummet when she could connect to social media or messenger.

She tried texting her friends and Eli but a giant waving finger came up on the screen with the text 'No Cheating'. Olivia tried the maps app and it successfully loaded. She quickly punched in the address and soon a map was generated. She tried hard to see if there was a possible short cut or way to avoid the police officers.

Once she figured out her route she stepped out of the alley and calmly walked the street. It was going to take her close to an hour to walk to her destination and she prayed that she made the right choice. She climbed over fences, went through stores and used their back doors, trudged through rivers and climbed through bush until she was finally close to where she needed to be.

Olivia involuntarily shivered as her eyes looked upon the Maki Hudu Memorial Building. The phone she had securely zipped up in her jersey pocket started to vibrate, she quickly moved to grab the phone and swiped the screen. "Hello?!" she semi-yelled. The electronic voice started to laugh. "Little Livy you found the place! Good girl, good girl! Now here is the tricky part get inside without being seen, once your in you will have to go to A very ex-ci-ting room to find your next cl-ue." the line cut and Olivia looked at the screen.

A message came through 'Half hour is all your gonna get before your clue disappears." Olivia pocketed the phone into the jersey and she steeled her nerves. Now was not the time to allow anything to distract her, no matter how bad it looked.

Olivia decided to make her way to the emergency door that was propped open by the small pile of dead bodies. She snuck through some more bushes and watched as the patrolling officers moved around the area. The moment they passed her and turned the corner she bolted out and went for the emergency door just to find it locked. She cursed as she pounded a fist against the door. She turned and tried to think of another way in.

The phone in her jersey went off again and she quickly checked to see the new message. 'Ten minutes wasted, time is slipping by hurry.' Olivia felt her hands go cold, she needed to think. How was she going to get inside and she remembered. There was a small fire escape she could use to climb onto a balcony. It was dangerous but she had run out of options.

She quickly darted a few more feet, she saw the raised flower bed, she stepped onto the wall of the flowerbed and tried to find a grove she could place her hand to lift herself up onto the slanted stone steps that were attached the the building. She hauled herself up with all her might and was already a quarter of the way up the building.

She needed the height from the stone step to barely reach the ledge that went around the building. Once she got a grip onto the ledge she tried to lift her leg upwards, sweat was dripping down her face as she strained to bring her leg onto the ledge. She quickly realized that there was not enough room to drag her body upwards, she dropped her leg and started moving her hands slowly along the edge.

She knew she need to move fast and try to get the fire escape before the patrolling officers came back to where she was. Her muscles were aching as she was suspended in the air but it was a small gap to close. Once she was close enough to the ladder she hauled her leg up again. She lifted half her body up and placed and elbow on the ledge while her other hand held onto the ledge for dear life and her other leg hung downwards.

She took a deep breath and watched drops of her sweat plop onto the ledge, She gritted her teeth and pushed herself upwards. She barely held onto her balance as she grabbed the first bar of the escape ladder. Soon she heard footsteps approaching to her location, she grabbed the next bar and started to pull herself up.

Her hand were know coated with sweat and she didn't dare stop moving to clean them off there were only 6 bars on the ladder and she could jump onto the balcony but she needed to do it fast before the patrol spotted her. Three bars left and now her feet were on the ledge, she could hear them coming closer and heard low grumbling voices.

One bar left, she saw the two officers, she held her breath as she stepped lightly on the ladder, her one foot slipped and kicked the bar. The one officer stopped the other "Hey did you hear something?" he asked his tanned co-worker. "No why?' the tanned officer asked. "I think I heard metal chime or something from up above." the offices looked up and saw no one there.

The tanned officer smacked his partners back "You're working too hard Simon, now you're hearing things." the tanned officer said. Simon scratched his head and looked at his partner "You might be right Ray." he sighed. "I keep telling you to relax, we missed all the action thanks to Chief Wilhelm. Not sure why we were so delayed in coming here but I guess he has his reason." Ray said and he started walking again.

"I guess." Simon answered as he looked one last time at the escape later before joining his partner. Olivia finally exhaled the breathe she was holding as she laid on the floor of the balcony. She rolled on her back and gently massaged her stomach. "I'm sorry sweetie I must have scared you." she whispered to her womb. She stayed laying on the stone balcony for a few more seconds to catch her breathe.

The phone in here pocket was vibrating again. '5 more minutes before your clue and family are gone.' Olivia quickly got up and felt the rush of blood go straight to her head. She stepped back and held onto the stone railing. She shook her head and moved forwards. She was excited to see she was relatively close to room 'A' and that no one was really upstairs. She bolted towards the doors and stepped inside.

In the middle of the room was a chair with a basket stuffed with blankets. Olivia ran up to the basket and turned it upside down. A tablet fell out and a silent video call displayed on the screen. She moved the icon upwards to accept the video call and gasped at the sight. Loreley was chained up by her wrists and slumped forward. The room she was sitting was dark and she couldn't see any hints to were she was being held.

"Where's my dad." Olivia said in a shaky voice. The electronic voice started to laugh. "Really little Livy how are you so heartless why didn't you try calling out to Loreley do you really truly see her a s your sister?" Loreley started to stir and Olivia felt the blood drain from her face. "Shut up! I want to make sure they are both alive you monster!" she yelled at the screen. "Tsk, tsk, tsk, little Livy you have quite the temper but I would be quiet if I were you or you will have some very nosy people dragging you away."

Olivia bit her bottom lip as she held her breathe. It was still quiet outside "What do you want for them." she demanded in a low voice. "That is more like it! Well I don't think you can give me anything I couldn't get myself. In all honesty I can probably sell your sister in the black market. I could have sold this b*tch for more if she stayed innocent but she just h-a-d to give her virginity to that bastard.... Oh well that's how life goes, I guess I could always feed her to my wolfy friends and they can train her to be a top notch b*tch." The electronic voice said flatly.

Loreley's head shot straight up her eyes were shaking in fear and her mouth has gagged with a white clothed tied around her head. She was yelling something but it was muffled but she could clearly see her shake her head no. "Really Loreley this is all your fault. You have no right to protest. If you and your father didn't try to stop me from shooting Olivia I wouldn't have shot the lovely Laila.... now she's in an induced coma and I'm stuck with a sl*tty you and your father." the voice said with malice and disappointment.

"Give them back to me!" Olivia hissed. The electronic voiced sighed "Dead or alive? I could really care less what you want. But I will humor you and let you choose, so let's link your dad in... and look a family conference!" the voice said happily. Olivia saw her dad in a bright white room, he was also chained up by the wrists and his face slumped to the side, she could tell he was heavily beaten and her heart screamed at the assailants.

"Avery! Avery can you hear me?" the voice called out. Avery started to move his head, refusing to lift it up to the camera. "Don't be like that don't you want a chance to say hello to your daughters Olivia and Loreley?" the voice teased. Avery's body tensed up, he lifted up his face and rattled his chains. "You f*cker if you have done anything to hurt my babies I will skin you alive. I will tear off you eyelids and make you watch as I pull your skin and muscle off your bones and feed it too you!" Avery yelled.

"My goodness! Maybe I shouldn't let you choose. Durham kill Avery I don't appreciate him threatening me." the voice said nonchalantly. "No!" Olivia screamed she heard footsteps racing towards her. "Choose! Who will you come after Avery or Loreley." Olivia ran out towards the balcony and closed the doors she hide herself in the corner. The wind was starting to pick up.

"10 seconds." the voice said. Olivia covered her mouth as she stared at the screen. A count down began and she watched the slime covered numbers change from 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, "Livy I lived long enough save your sister." Avery plead while Loreley tried to break free from her bindings and she tried to scream her protests. 4, 3, 2, 1.5, 1, 0.5, "LORELEY!" she shouted.

"Final answer." the voice asked. "Yes." she squeaked. The video cut out and her phone vibrated. The map popped up and it showed where she had to go. The curtain that covered the glass paneled doors moved and Olivia pressed her body against the building. She held her breath and no one came out.

After what seemed like a lifetime she exhaled slowly and kept her breathes shallow. She wasn't going to risk going back into the room. So she climbed over the stone balcony and slid down the side of the building towards the ledge, scratching her back along the way. It was barely 10 inches wide but she kept her back pressed against the wall and slowly walked along the ledge till she found a way down.
