45 She is Who?!

A year has passed since Sirzechs and I destroyed the King Pieces.

Making the current year 1707.

Ever since the two of us worked together to wipe those fucking things out that day not a word has been spoken about them.

And no one has certainly tried to re-create them.

I've had the Order of the Black Knights make sure of that.

They have been watching the Great King Factions like white on rice, just to make sure those pieces of shit don't get any bright ideas.

A lot of them were upset after Sirzechs, Ajuka, Zekram and I revealed the news of the King Pieces and their subsequent destruction during a closed session of Ars Groetia.

Zekram's ideas.

Which we three relented to, since if we didn't we knew he would probably find a way to use the information about the King Pieces to fuck us over.

So at least this way we could tell our side of the story, and have our allies around to back us up.

Like Serafall.

She agreed with us other Maou that the King Pieces were too powerful to be left in the world. As did most of the nobles from the New Maou faction, and even a small number from the Great King faction as well.

Which settled the matter in the end.

Putting the King Pieces and their threat to the future to bed.

Also thanks to the Great King faction not having the King Pieces on their side anymore, their control over the Rating Games is not absolute.

In fact, it is barely negligible.

Especially with Diehauser, Roygun, and Ruval competing in the Games.

They are all top players who the people love immensely.

By the way in these past 100 years, both Roygun and Ruval have added to their peerages.

First up is Ruval.

He has added four members, using both of his bishop pieces and all of his pawns.

His first bishop is a Russian witch named Vasilisa Yuryevna Mostovaya.

She has blonde hair, dark eyes and big breasts.

Vasilisa is also quite proud and sadistic most of the time.

But even so she is an expert in magic, and her specialty is lighting magic.

Her skills are so great that Ruval used his only mutation piece on her, that's how powerful she is.

As to how the two of them met it's rather simple.

Vasilisa preformed a summoning ritual to contract with a devil, Ruval accepted her request, they got to talking and eventually she joined up as his first bishop.

That's the long and short of it.

As for Ruval's second bishop, she is nothing to sneeze at either.

Her name is Mari Shimon.

She is a half Japanese/British magician, with blonde hair and grey eyes. She also has a penchant for wearing the iconic pointed witches hat.

To describe Mari, she is the caring older-sister type.

As for her magic specialty, it is spatial magic.

Now then, as for how Ruval and Mari met.

Honestly it's not a pretty story.

You see Mari lived in Britain all her life with her mother who was a witch that was apart of the British magical community.

She taught Mari everything she knew and mother and daughter lived happily together.

That is until they were caught and arrested by the inquisition.

Since I have discovered that a lot of real magical beings were killed by the inquisitions in this world.

Well it was run by the Catholic Church so I am not too shocked, but still.

A lot of people died, and some are still dying to this day.

But back to the point.

Mari's mother was executed, and then just before Mari was supposed to be executed she made a pact with the first devil she could contact, and that devil happened to be Ruval.

Which he did.

He took Mari in and made her his second bishop.

Since then she has been living happily within Phenex territory.

Just like Ruval's two pawns.

A bother and sister duo named Fiore and Caules Forvedge.

The two of them come from a mage family that was dying out. The Forvedge family was on their last legs. That until Fiore was born.

She had more magical power than anyone born into the Forvedge family for several of the past generations.

But that power came with a price.

From the time she was a baby Fiore did not have the use of her legs, thanks to the insane amount of magical power she was born with.

Because of this her parents gave birth to Fiore's younger brother by two years, Caules.

To basically have a spare heir to the Forvedge family, just in case Fiore's immense power someday destroyed her body entirely and not just her legs.

Despite how their parents viewed them Caules and Fiore got along really well.

In doing so they started to work together trying to find a way to give Fiore the use of her legs, which led them to summoning a devil.

Which was Ruval.

After hearing the siblings story he offered them both a spot in his peerage, and they took it.

Their parents were the only family they had in the human world after all, and since they really didn't treat them like children they decided to leave them behind without a second thought.

When joining Ruval's peerage Fiore took five pawns. While Caules took three.

And thanks to Fiore becoming a devil she finally gained the ability to walk.

I am told she cried tears of joy on that day, as did her brother.

Since that has happened the both of them have been indispensable members of Ruval's peerage, during and out of the Rating Games.

Fiore is a genius who loves working on magical technology.

Meanwhile Caules is an expert on curses and hex magic.

A dream pair of siblings if there ever was one.

That's all for Ruval's peerage at the moment.

Sure he doesn't have a queen or his last knight yet, even so his peerage is strong.

And speaking of strong peerages, time to move onto my pink-haired wife's.

Roygun's peerage is something else.

In these past hundred years she's managed to find herself a queen, a rook that took took up both her rook pieces, and finally a second pawn that took up her last four remaining pawn pieces.

First up is Roygun's queen.

It is a man by the name of Shiroe.

Even though he is not Japanese.

Shiroe's parents are actually a female dryad, and a Celtic Druid.

The two people who taught him magic, and his specialties plant and illusion magic.

As to where his parents got his name, I asked Shiroe once and he said he didn't really know. But he suspected they read it in a book, and just decided to give it to him.

Which I can get.

Since from the way Shiroe described his parents to me when we first met, they were obviously book nuts.

However both of them have passed on.

It happened when Shiroe was in his twenties.

And after it did he decided to go and travel the world.

In doing so he happened to meet Roygun and decided to join her peerage since the benefits of being a devil intrigued him greatly.

Which just shows that Shiroe's parents made the right choice when they picked his name.

Since Shiroe ltierally translated into Fortress of Wisdom.

And our Shiroe is a Fortress of Wisdom.

The underworld has named him on of the best strategic minds to have ever entered into the Rating Games so far.

Shiroe also has another name that people call him.

Villain in Glasses.

That is because he will do anything to win a Rating Game match.

Which is why he and I get along very well.

Roygun couldn't have found a better queen if she tried.

Now then, as for her only rook.

She is quite something.

Roygun's rook is a Sarugami yokai named named Kanami.

Who has quite the upbeat and bubbly personality.

And unlike how the Sarugami yokai are described in the legends Kanami is not a crazy person who goes around kidnapping young maidens from villages whenever possible.

But she does drag Shiroe around any chance she gets.

Kanami has a straight-forward personality after all.

But don't let that be all you judge her by, she is a monster in combat.

Skilled in both Yojutsu and Senjutsu, as well as hand-to-hand combat, and touki. She also knows how to handle a staff with immense precision.

Kanami is strong, which is why Roygun used both her rook pieces on her.

Finally we have Roygun's final new member, her only other pawn who took up her last four pieces. A woman from the Greek panthen named Albis.

She is a daughter of Echidna and Typhon the king of monsters.

A master of hexes and curses, and a strong physical fighter as well, Albis fits in well with some of the more battle hungry members of our family and peerages.

Now then, as to how Albis met Roygun it was simply by accident.

The two of us were having a day trip/slash date in Athens about 50 years ago when all of a sudden Albis came out of nowhere and challenged me to a fight.

Which I would have gladly done.

But Roygun stepped up.

Since Albis interrupted our date.

And if you know Roygun, you know never to interrupt her when she doing somethin she loves.

Lest you face her wrath.

Which is exactly what happened to Albis.

Roygun beat her black and blue.

Then afterwards Albis asked Roygun to join her peerage since she wanted to fight her and train under her.

To which Roygun agreed.

Which is how she gained another peerage member.

Now Roygun only needs one more bishop until she gets a complete peerage set.

But when that will be is anyone's guess.

However even without that final peerage member she is doing well in the Rating Games.

As are Ruval and Diehauser.

And now without the King Pieces in the mix the Raitnig Games should be a lot more fairer.

But if they are not I will make them so.

Just because I want to.

--------------------------------------

Sitting in my personal study at home I was enjoying a book I found some time ago in the human world.

When all of a sudden I heard a knock.

*Knock Knock*

Stopping where I was in my book I looked up from it.

"Come in." I said.

When I did so the door opened and my daughter Meredy walked in.

Seeing her I put a smile on my face.

"Yes Meredy, what can your father do for you today?" I asked her.

"It's not for me dad." She said. Meredy then looked at the still open door. "You can come in now little brother." She said.

When Meredy said this I paused.

Because her brothers, and all my children, know they can come talk to me about anything no matter when.

Since I'll be there.

The only reason Meredy would act as a buffer like this is for one reason and one reason only.

As soon as Meredy called out, said reason walked into the room.

Sporting a grumpy expression as usual.

My second youngest son, Callum.

He loves all his siblings, but he and Meredy are particularly close.

Just like how Leon and La Folia are closer with each other than any of their other siblings.

Though I think that has more to do with them being twins than anything else.

Point is, Callum is using Meredy as a buffer.

Which means he must want something big from me.

He's always done this, ever since he was a little boy.

But ever since he became a delinquent he hasn't done so.

Which makes me really curious as to what it is he wants from me.

After Callum entered the room he looked at me. "Dad." He grumbled.

"Callum." I said. Leaning back in my chair as I did so. "So, this must be pretty important what you have to talk to me about huh?" I asked him. "Since usually you just tell me what you want to my face without asking anyone to back you up."

"Tsk, not now old man." Callum said.

When he did so Meredy slapped him upside the head.

"Ow!" Callum cried, rubbing the back of his head after Meredy slapped him ."Sis that hurt."

"Well stop acting like this and I won't have to hurt you." Meredy told him. "Now pull yourself together. Or else dad might not help you out, and that's why you are here right? To get his help."

"Yes." Callum grumbled.

"Good. Then get to it." Meredy told Callum.

"Whatever." Callum grumbled.

He then stopped rubbing his head and looked at me. Staring directly into my eyes as he did so.

I looked straight back at him.

A few minutes passed by while this happened.

But eventually one of us made a move.

And it was Callum.

He began bowing to me.

Which caused me to raise a brow.

Since ever since Callum has entered his delinquent phase he only shows me and anyone else respect when absolutely necessary. So for him to bow his head like this, it must mean whatever he is asking for is big.

"Dad, please help me get my own set of evil pieces?" Callum asked me, his head still bowed.

My eyes widened even more when Callum told me his desire.

Since he has never before been interested in obtaining evil pieces or the like.

After Callum asked his question he raised his head and looked me in the eyes. "And before you ask, yes I am serious with my request."

"I can see that." I said. "Now then, let me ask you a question. Why do you want evil pieces?"

"So I can create my own peerage and compete in the Rating Games." Callum swiftly answered me. "But also for another reason." He said.

Callum looked at the door. "You can come in now." He said.

The moment after Callum did so another person entered into the room.

She is a girl with long dark hair and blue eyes. As well as of Japanese descent from what her facial features tell me.

(Image Here)

I can also sense she is human and yet not at the same time.

This girl has some kind of divine energy mixed into her very being. But I can't tell what kind since I have never felt anything quite like it before.

She's quite interesting.

As for the girls attire she is dressed in a pure-black Kimono.

Once the girl entered the room she walked right up to Callum's side and he put his arm around her and pulled her closer into his body.

And having several wives I know what this means.

They are in an intimate and sexual relationship.

Which sort of explains why my delinquent son is acting out of character.

A woman has changed him.

I looked at the girl once she got close to son. "So young lady, are the reason my brash son is acting so polite to me?" I asked her.

"She is." Callum answered.

"Nice to meet you Maou Asmodeus. My name is Riona Toba. Callum's wife. It's a pleasure to finally make your acquittance, father-in-law." She told me.

"Yes, nice to me-.....wait, what?!" I questioned. "Did you just say you are Callum's wife?"

"That's right." Callum answered me. "Dad, this is my wife. Riona Toba." He told me.

When he did so I started rubbing my head.

Today was supposed to be my off day from work.

But now with this revelation that has completely gone out the window.

I guess this is just what happens when you have kids.
