Moving on from that, out of my set of evil pieces I noticed this the moment I injected them with my demonic power. Three of them feel different from the rest. Those pieces are my queen, one rook, and one pawn.

It took me a few days to realize that these three pieces had become mutation pieces. That is the only explanation I could come up with.

And once Ajuka examined the pieces a few days ago my theory was proven correct. When it was I jumped for joy.

Mutation pieces have no set value. Meaning even if one is weaker than the one they are trying to reincarnate, it won't matter. Which is how Rias was able to reincarnate Gasper despite his tremendous potential and latent abilities during canon.

And since I am a super devil, this basically means I can use those three pieces to reincarnate any being I want except for gods and god-like creatures.

That's why I jumped for joy.

Since these three pieces open up a huge number of possibilities related to my future peerage members.

By the way, I have already selected four individuals to join my peerage.

Angelica, Zest, Esdeath, and finally Kaido.

Why those four?

Well I'm about to tell you.

Over the next few centuries, the members of ones peerage will become related to their status more closely. And since I am a Maou I need strong peerage members to showcase my strength and power, even though I don't care about shit like that.

It just sometimes its easier to play the game than to sit out.

What I'm basically saying is I really don't want to hear whispers of people questioning my strength.

But it's not just that.

Truthfully I really want to compete in Rating Game matches.

I know since I am a Maou my games won't officially count, but I've always liked games, and fighting games have always been a specialty of mine.

I killed it in Mortal Kombat and Tenkai Fighters in my last life.

So that's why I want a full peerage as soon as possible.

Now then, on to my choices for my peerage members.

I chose Zest and Angelica because they are incredibly strong already, and it is because both of them are from commoner birth. With them in my peerage it will let the devils of common birth know its possible to reach the same levels of strength as the nobles if they work hard enough.

As to why I chose Kaido and Esdeath, the reasoning is a lot more simpler.

The two of them are battle maniacs who are always looking for a food fight. So having them join my peerage and competing in rating games will make the both of them extremely happy, and also placate their more savage instincts.

So overall, I don't think it's a bad start for my peerage. No, not at all.

Closing the top of the box containing my evil pieces set I put it back into dimensional storage.

Then once did I took another drink from my bottle of brandy, and let the silence of the night engulf me fully.

Which will increase my political and social standing to new heights over all.

Also, as to why I am still living in the Belial territory, it's because I want to be close to my family. Since I already squashed the Maou's not having a harem rule, I might as well disregard most of the other rules as well.

"Is that why you called us here?" Eugeo asked.

"Eh." I said, waving my hand in a so-so motion. "While it's true I wanted to see you all, that's not really the only reason I called you all here. Truth is I already got my set of evil pieces and wanted four of you to join my peerage, if you are willing that is?" I explained.

"Of course dear." Roygun said.

"Thank you my pink-haired goddess." I said to Roygun, getting on one knee in front of her as I did so.

She then stepped up to me, and I took out a rook piece, placing it near her chest.

Why a rook piece and not a bishop piece for Angelica you ask? It's simple, I am going for custom-builds.

Let me break it down for you.

When you really look at the evil pieces they basically only have two real major functions.

1. They have the ability to transform an individual or being into a member of the devil race.

2. The evil pieces augment certain aspects of a person's abilities to new heights.

When a knight piece is used to reincarnate an individual they get a boost in speed and agility. When a rook piece is used to reincarnate an individual, they get a boost in physical strength mainly where attack and defense are concerned. If a bishop is used, that individuals magical reserves will increase. When a queen is used, an individual will get boosts in all stats across the board and be able to use them freely, or boost one specific trait at a time. The same applies to a pawn.

This is why most magic users that join a peerage get reincarnated using a bishop, and why most swordsmen are reincarnated using a knight. To boost their natural stats that they have trained in over time.

And while that's all well and good that is not what I'm going for.

What I am looking for is something different. For instance, if one where to give a swordsman with already great speed a knight speed, they could becoming a moving magical swordsman. Basically a high-speed cannon.

The vice versa can be said if a giant with strong-defense was giving a knight speed to increase their speed. They would becoming a rolling tank or a battering ram.

You see, not only is the individual important, but its also about how you use your evil pieces as well.

Angelica already has high magical reserves, but her physical attack and defense are lacking. That's why I am using a rook piece on her, to allow her to tank attacks better. I am basically turning her into a magical canon.

So yeah, that's why I'm going for.

As to why I am not using the queen piece on Angelica, it's because I am a few others in mind. Especially now that I have a queen mutation piece. That opens up a whole new can of worms.

Anyway, Angelica took in the rook piece without issue.

Then next up was Esdath, who I made a knight.

Although I want to do some custom-builds, I still want to have some oldies but goodies as well. And Esdeath is the perfect candidate for a knight. She works for a rook as well, but you get the point.

Moving on, I gave Zest two pawns.

She is an all-rounder, and with two pawns she can push past the wall that has been holding her back. Zest has been stuck at high-class for a couple of decades now, but with the evil pieces now inside her I am sure she can push into ultimate-class without issue.

Anyway, after my three wives were done, Kaido came up next.

I made him a bishop.

He's already got crazy strong attack and defense, and now with this he is can spam large-scale magical attacks without even trying. He's a giant, flying magical canon.

Once I finished up with Kaido I closed my box and sent my evil pieces back into dimensional storage.

Proud that I now have my first four peerage members.

I can't wait to acquire the rest.
