Chapter 159 - Crystals Of Light Property
Neither Rias and the others nor Mahiro and Vali interrupted the conversation between Ddraig and Albion.
They allowed the two dragons to converse freely.
The conversation shifted from business boasting to self-praise, and then to reminiscing about battles from past centuries.
The two dragons spoke as if no one else was present, their words flowing effortlessly.
For Rias and the others, this was something entirely new—like witnessing centuries of history unfold before them.
"Let's end it here for today, Red. See you later," Albion concluded.
"Alright, goodbye, White," Ddraig responded.
With that, the conversation between the two ended, and Vali prepared to leave.
"Red Dragon Emperor," Vali said, turning his gaze toward him. "This is our first meeting. My name is Vali, and I am the White Dragon Emperor—your destined rival."
"Sooner or later, we will have a battle."
"And until then, I hope you grow stronger. So that when we fight, I can enjoy it to the fullest."
Vali's gaze lingered on Mahiro, his fighting spirit reaching its peak once again before he took to the skies.
In an instant, he transformed into a silver light, vanishing into the night sky.
Mahiro watched him go.
"Ddraig, this is the first time you've spoken. I didn't expect you to have such high praise for me."
"Should I be honored?" Mahiro asked playfully.
Ddraig had been boasting, and Mahiro could sense that the dragon was optimistic about his potential.
However, Mahiro knew the reality of their situation all too well.
The two of them didn't exactly see eye to eye.
"In terms of talent, you are the strongest host I've ever had," Ddraig said in a low voice.
"However, you're also the least compatible with me."
"Hmm," Mahiro nodded in agreement.
Ddraig was left speechless by Mahiro's calm attitude, unsure of how to continue.
"Albion's host is incredibly powerful. I spoke with him earlier, and you must have noticed the admiration in Albion's words," Ddraig warned.
"I know," Mahiro nodded. Having knowledge of DxD, he was fully aware of Vali's strength.
Vali's full name was Vali Lucifer, a direct descendant of the original Satan Lucifer.
In terms of lineage and power, even Rias's power of destruction paled in comparison.
With such a prestigious bloodline, even without the Divine Dividing, Vali was destined for greatness.
Compared to previous White Dragon Emperors, Vali's talent and foundation were far superior.
"With your talent, you learned balance breaker in just a month. Even without my guidance, you'll likely be able to unlock the true power of the Boosted Gear," Ddraig said after a brief silence.
"Now, I'm going back to sleep."
As his words faded, the light in the Boosted Gear dimmed, and Ddraig fell silent once more.
"Darling."
"Mahiro-kun."
"Are you okay, Mahiro-kun?"
As soon as Vali left, Rias and the others rushed to Mahiro, concern evident on their faces.
"I'm fine. The issue with Kokabiel is over," Mahiro said with a smile, shaking his head.
"Yeah, I didn't expect Kokabiel to be dealt with so easily," Rias said with a relieved smile.
"I thought when the White Dragon Emperor showed up, this place would turn into a battlefield. But I didn't expect him to leave so quickly," Sona added seriously.
"The White Dragon Emperor..." Jeanne teased.
"Red Dragon Emperor, you're going a bit too far. I have been running around with you, and all I can do is watch."
"Should I send you to the underworld with a map to the Fallen Angels?"
"You can show off your skills there; they've got plenty of fallen angels waiting for your heroic deeds," Mahiro joked.
Jeanne was speechless.
She had only been complaining.
If she really went to grigori headquarters, she'd be sliced to pieces.
"Kiba, how are you doing?" Mahiro asked, turning to Yuuto.
"I've dealt with Valper Galilei, but there are many who continue his research. I plan to destroy all of it," Yuuto said, his tone heavy and serious.
"Yuuto-senpai, are you planning to leave?" Koneko asked, her voice tinged with sadness.
"Yuuto..." Rias raised her voice, clearly worried.
"Sorry, President, I betrayed you, but..." Yuuto apologized, his voice trailing off.
"Alright, don't turn this into a vengeful knight situation," Mahiro remarked, thinking over Yuuto's words.
"Did you manage to get the crystals of light property from Valper?"
"The crystals of light property?" Yuuto asked, looking puzzled.
Mahiro sighed. "It seems my intervention caused you to miss your chance. You probably killed Valper without even knowing about the Holy Sword Project's secrets."
"The crystals of light property... what's that?" Rias asked, her curiosity piqued.
"It's the result of the Holy Sword Project—the one Kiba was a part of. Valper's research was focused on creating artificial Holy Sword wielders," Mahiro explained.
He then briefly explained the general details of the Holy Sword Project that he knew.
"Like Irina?" Xenovia asked.
"When I received Excalibur Destruction, I saw the bishop give Irina an ice-blue crystal. That must've been the crystal of light property."
"That sounds right," Mahiro nodded.
"So... they could extract the light property from us without needing to kill?" Yuuto asked, his voice trembling slightly.
"Exactly. Valper defected from the Church because of he was found out of this," Xenovia added.
"Rias, Did you destroy Valper's body?" Mahiro asked.
"It's still at the church doors," Rias replied.
"Let's see if we can find the crystals of light property," Mahiro suggested.
