5 A Monster 'Questions' A Fallen Angel And Delivers A 'Package'

"Breaking and entering is illegal, you know?" I cracked a joke...though with my monotone voice, it probably sounded weird, huh?

The woman disregarded the joke and scowled, "Shut up, human," she said and lifted her hand, light collecting in front of it and forming into a spear, "And die," she finished before the light spear flew at me. Though it wasn't actually light because I could see it move toward me and it was...slow. I felt an instinctive knowledge flow into me from my daggers and I lifted one up and parried the light spear away.

Not wanting to have more spears bombarded at me, I activated my innate ability and felt a rush of heat make me even more inhuman as I dashed forth, not bothered with the fact I left behind broken wood where I'd just been standing.

I appeared in front of the Fallen, her face morphed into shock as one of my daggers came slamming down overhead at her. She summoned another light spear but this one seemed more solid - stronger, perhaps?

As my dagger came into contact with it, the blue-haired woman's body bent down slightly as veins popped just below her skin on her neck and face.

"What...are you?!" she screamed but I ignored it and sent a thrust with my free dagger through her arms and at her face. She barely moved out of the way as the dagger cut across her cheek, leaving a long and deep cut. She realized she couldn't overpower me and jumped backward right into my wall. She lifted her hand and started shooting a hail of light spears at me.

I dodged and parried my way through the light spears, their brightness actually being because of heat as she signed the ends of my clothes. With each light spear parried or dodged, I took a step forward and the Fallen Angel began to become more and more desperate.

Funnily enough, during this...I'd felt more than I had whole day. This...thrill, was intoxicating. Is this why the monsters hunt? The thrill of the hunt? Of the impending doom of your prey?

...If it weren't for my human side, I'd have no doubt lost myself in a frenzy by now.

"WHY! WON'T! YOU! DIE?!" the woman shouted as I got in front of her. Another solid light spear appeared in her hands as she thrust it at me. I just used my dagger to maneuver it around to my right side as I used my left dagger to slice at the woman's tricep, deltoid, before stabbing the blade into her supraspinatus, through her collar bone, making her arm holding her spear harmless go limp.

Using the dagger not stabbed into her shoulder, I slashed at her neck but I left her enough time to dodge downward as I'd taken my dagger from her shoulder, just in time for...

*Smack!*

...My knee to find it's way into her face.

All of this was weird. I didn't know how to fight before I went into the dungeon. Sure I knew how to punch, how to do a basic kick...but I'd never really been in a fight. But right now I was obviously dominating someone who from her movements had seen quite a few fights and been in most of them.

Are these my instincts coming to me? Human instinct is usually hidden under all sorts of layers but maybe, just maybe, being turned into a half-monster gave me access to those instincts alongside a monster's instincts? Hundreds of years of ancestors who survived and passed on their genes...hundreds of years of instincts at my disposal alongside the instincts of a being made to be the embodiment of violence and brute force. It doesn't seem to make me an experienced combatant...but it seemed to sure as hell help me in a fight.

Grabbing the blue woman's hair, I kept my vigilance up as I stabbed a dagger back into her shoulder and put my other one into the opposite shoulder. I made sure both of the daggers were firmly through her body and into the wall behind her - holding her up.

Lifting her chin up to face me I saw her dull eyes but I could still hear her heartbeat so I sent a 'weak' shock through her system with my electrokinesis, causing her eyes to widen as her mouth gaped trying to scream but she couldn't as the paralyzing effect of the arcs of electricity flowing through her body stopped her from being able to made any sound.

After a few seconds I stopped and she gasped for breath as she glared up at me. But I ignored it and leaned in toward her, "You're going to answer my questions or," I lifted a hand covered in arcs of dark blue lightning, "You're going to help me with some training."

From the fear in the Fallen Angel's eyes...I must have sounded quite threatening, huh?

. . .

"So they thought I was a threat because of my Sacred Gear...And there's one more in danger?" I scratched my cheek as I fiddled with one of my daggers in my other hand, "Issei Hyoudou...one of the perverted trio. A childhood friend to me as well, though we stopped talking after he started ramping up the perverted stuff he did," I mused as I stood up and looked at the body of the Fallen Angel on my bedroom floor.

Then I looked to the damage of the room. Sighing, I spoke out loud to DM, "Next time someone's on the way, with harmful intent, please remind me to leave the house, DM," I said before standing up and willing the Daggers to disappear. Turns out these daggers act like Sacred Gears and can be stored inside my soul or something. I'm not quite sure but it really is convenient. Sadly, the daggers don't have any innate 'abilities' other than being incredibly heavy, incredibly durable, and incredibly sharp. The first one of those isn't an ability, more like an annoyance to deal with.

Just that fight has caused my arms to feel like the muscles are tearing themselves apart. Luckily my bones have been fortified by my mana otherwise I doubt I'd be able to lift these daggers...

[I will do so, Ikki,] DM replied before carrying on, [And your daggers scale to your strength, so they cannot be that heavy,] then DM went quiet.

Walking over to Kalawarner, the Fallen Angel's name, I picked her up before placing her on my shoulder. Looking down at the blood stained school uniform, I sighed once again before looking out my broken window.

It had begun to darken.

Taking off my blazer and tie, I pulled out a cheap white, paper mask from under my bed. It had no facial features and was simply just a white mask with two eye holes.

I put it on and covered my face. It fit snug around my new face unlike the bagginess it had when I brought it for the schools Halloween party last year. Affixing it properly do it wouldn't fall off, I carried the dead body out of the widow before activating my innate ability and jumping to the roof of the house next to mine.

I continued this with one destination in mind; the Kuoh Town Church.

I had a package/message to deliver the inhabitants of the church.

. . .

I laid Kalawarner down on the ground before knocking the door and rushing away into some nearby tries, keeping low and behind the thick leaves and branches. Though my eyes never lost site of the door. DM's hiding of my mana was still active so I didn't have to worry about them sensing that.

The door cracked open and a beautiful woman with raven black hair and violet eyes. She wasn't really wearing anything and seemed to be the late-Kalawarner's senpai when it came to being an exhibitionist or showing off her assets.

She was wearing black, strap-like objects, that resembled leather, around and under her breasts with a thong-like piece held around her hips by three thin straps, gloves that ran right up her arms with small lengths of chains hanging from them, shoulder guard-like objects on her shoulders with three large spikes sprouting on her right shoulder pad, and black thigh-high heel boots.

She looked...like a pervert, honestly.

But when she saw Kalawarner, her expression morphed into anger. Not like the anger you'd see from someone who lost someone close to them...but the anger of a petulant child who lost a toy or a pet. I was here, in this tree, to see what I was up against.

Turning around I silently jumped away, going from branch to branch as my enhanced body more than made up for my lack of skill and experience with doing such movements.

I'd seen what I was up against and I really wasn't impressed.

Now all I have to do is wait for them to strike at Issei. Who'd have thought the two of us were both targets of the Fallen Angel faction? Two Sacred Gear wielders growing up in such close proximity. I didn't need DM to tell me that that was weird or unusual. Aren't Sacred Gears supposed to be rare-ish?

Hey, DM?

[Yes, Ikki?]

Can you send me to the dungeon now?

[...Yes, I can. The first time in the dungeon is just a test. Hosts can enter it as soon as possible after they've recovered from the first time they entered,] it said in my head before carrying on and almost sounding worried, [But are you sure you wish to go back in? The last time you were in the Dungeon, you nearly lost your mind. I am your system, Ikki, and my goal is to keep you alive and make sure you grow strong, so I'm warning you that you may not be ready to enter the Dungeon so soon.]

Smirking after what seems like forever since the last time I did it genuinely, I replied to DM out loud as I was out of the forest and running across the roof tops again, "I'm ready. Trust me, I'm not weak anymore."

[As you wish, Ikki. You can tell me when you wish to enter and I will give you a mission for you to complete while you're in the Dungeon.]

Nodding I sped up and jumped before curling into a ball as I burst through my broken window and into my room with a burst of wind. Taking off the mask and throwing it onto my bed, I told DM to open up the portal.

As the black, abyssal portal opened up like the maw of a great beast, I didn't flinch or stop myself from walking into it.

I practically dived into it.

I need strength to stop those Fallen Angels, first. Why do I need to stop them? Because Issei's parents...some part of me that isn't completely frozen over by my first experience in the Dungeon...it doesn't want to see their sad faces when they have to bury their only son. Nor do I really wanna see the goofy idiot get buried. He's a pervert but he's not a bad guy. He's a bit of a white knight, if I really think about it. Which is why...

I need strength to stop those Fallen Angels.
