1 Emergence

"Why can't I get over you?"

"Why must I suffer just because you never chose me?"

"I've had enough!"

"You're not the only guy out there"

"I'll find my own happiness even without you in it!"

"I will prove to you and to myself that I can do better!"

"I can do it! I will do it!"

These are what my thoughts were like after we've met and as we graduate college.

Before all this ever even happened, I was living my college life to the fullest, by keeping things balanced between fun with friends and keeping my good grades maintained. I'm not an honor student, i just study diligently.

"YES!" i exclaimed.

I passed the entrance examination to a college i've always been gunning for.

"I'm finally a step closer to my dream".

Ever since I was a child I dreamed of becoming a Pilot or a Flight Attendant. But for some reasons, growing up, I couldn't be any of both so I chose to become an Aircraft Mechanic instead.

"Oh! I gotta inform mom."

I pulled my phone out my pocket, looked for my mom's number and as I was about to press call

*Phone Rings*

"Wow! Great timing mom!" I laughed. "I was about to call you."

"Well, I had this feeling I should call" she scoffed. "And- what is it? You seem excited."

"Mom!" I squealed.

"I passed! I passed the exam, can you believe it?"

"I knew you would dear. I never thought you couldn't" she said.

I can hear her smile behind her words, giving me this feeling of sad comfort. Mom always believed in me. She always supported me in all my actions and decisions. I know she means well by letting me decide for myself, but sometimes, it makes me think that she doesn't care much.

"Mari?-"

"U-uhm, yes ma?"

"You okay, dear?"

"O-of course! Couldn't be better, haha-" i fake a laugh.

"So, what about the dormitory?"

"The what?" i was confused.

"You weren't listening were you" she laughed. "I told you, i think it's best you stay close to school so you dont have to worry about travel time and focus on your studies more."

"Oh-".

"Are they tired of having me around?" is the thought that's circling through my head. Mom and dad never went against my decisions, and I never questioned theirs' either. We just agreed to whatever the other wants.

"Right-... you're right mom. I should probably look for some place now" I laughed dryly.

"Okay, dear. I'd like to help look around but i'm also quite busy, so tell me if you found a good place okay."

"Y-yeah, of course, mom. Bye"

"Bye, dea-" *Tut*

*Sigh*

Both Mom and Dad have high expectations from me and my capabilities. I never did things that could dissapoint them. Even if i did, they would just tell me "It's fine!" or "Don't feel bothered, its okay!". Sometimes i do things deliberately to make them mad but it's always the same response. With this, I grew distant to them.

I went and looked around for places that are close to school and also near a shopping mall. After hours of search, I found an all girls dormitory. It was the perfect distance from school and mall so I decided to grab and take this oppurtunity. I went in to inquire and I talked with the landlady. Everything went well, she told me that I can move in anytime I wish.

I went to a nearby cafe to rest after a long day. I went in and took a seat first to rest my legs after walking around for hours. After a while, I finally stood and decided to order. The cashier i'm in line for was a man. He looked a bit gaudy but the air around him gives a different feeling. I didn't think much of it, he's just a stranger anyway. But who would've guessed, that this stranger whom i thought i'll see just once; enter my life and ruin me.
