Chapter 1 :: [ Hit by the ball ]

The class was filled with students chatting happily, few sleeping while others were eating. The whole students were all in their own world and most of them were excited because they were the seniors of the whole school and also their last year in high school too.

"Xiao Lan! come let's go and admire my crush!" The excited Bei Duo pulled up the lazy Qi Lan who was sleeping after the PE class and thought of sleeping the whole break but her best friend wasn't gonna let her sleep at all, after all Bei Duo is gonna go to the basketball court to admire her crushes!

"Bei Duo I hate you" but she just smiled and pulled the lazy girl behind as they head out of the class heading to the school basketball court where the school popular students are playing basketball with cheerleaders around them flirting 24/7.

Qi Lan and Bei Duo has been friends since they were kid and till today they are fine, plus they are cousins from her mother side, they met at her cousins wedding when they were 5 and till today they are friends. They would do things together and help each other and also share secrets together.

Qi Lan and Bei Duo are known as the bestfriend icon of the class and among the teachers too, Bei Duo is a troublemaker for the teachers and the clown of the class while Qi Lan was someone who always makes her class mates laugh of her witty remarks plus she is someone that the teacher can't scold at all because she will find one excuses or another to avoid punishments.

As the two girls reached the court, as usual the cheerleaders were cheering for the boys playing in the court all sweaty, Bei Duo eyes sparkle like stars and start to cheer along the cheerleaders but Qi Lan wasn't interested at all that she kept on yawning that she didn't know what to do and just hug her knees and fell asleep.

Qi Lan's beauty sleep was ruined when the hard ball flew towards her head and hit it hard that she let out a scream with a curse "Shit!" her eyes flew open and the ball bounce up and down around her feet. Bei Duo started to laugh seeing her friends face who was getting red from anger, then Qi Lan gave a dead glare to the players who were trying hard not to laugh.

"Qi Lan we are sorry, the ball flew 'accidentally' towards you" one of the player who is Zhu Yang the classmate of Qi Lan spoke up but broke into laughter after seeing Qi Lan's expression soon joined by his friends.

Qi Lan became more angrier as she held her head which was swollen then glared at the boys as she took off her shoes then threw it to Zhu Yang directly hitting his lower region that made him clutch his finger and fell on the ground

"Perfect shot!" Qi Lan cheered for herself then went to the court and took her shoes while throwing the ball to one of the player and making faces at Zhu Yang "Serves you right, you better thank me that I didn't destroy your future to bear child"

The whole players started to laugh so hard that few fell on the ground laughing, Qi Lan didn't mind and showed a thumbs down to Zhu Yang and went out of the court leaving her bestfriend alone heading to the nurse room to get some ice.

"That Zhu Yang, he purposely did that!" One definition of relationship between Zhu Yang and Qi Lan : Tom and Jerry , that's what everyone calls as Zhu Yang is Tom and Qi Lan is Jerry. They will always bicker like siblings and diss each other even in public without any shame at all, sometimes the teachers wonder if they are siblings or couples whenever they are getting detention for fighting at class.

Qi Lan would be willing to sell Zhu Yang if someone offers her chicken pizza and kfc family bucket while Zhu Yang is willing to sell Qi Lan if someone gives him new bandana to. wear at his match.

Like Bei Duo, Zhu Yang is also a close friend of Qi Lan and always tease her they have been friends for around 8 years so they understand each other and care for each other a lot but one thing they can't change is their bickering system or habit , the Tom and Jerry of the school!

The school nurse Miss Xue laughed seeing Qi Lan at the chair placing the ice pack at her head "Did Zhu Yang threw the ball at you?" Qi Lan face scrunched in anger remembering Zhu Yang's face but she nod and suppress her anger inside, she wasn't done with him at all.

"When are you two gonna stop this?" The school nurse often see Qi Lan and Zhu Yang at the nurse whenever they have fight or beat up each other, even though Qi Lan is a girl she is strong and a black belt taekwondo students and also used to be fencing player, she doesn't really fear men at all unless they are so fat.

At the end of the class, all the students started to leave one by one including Bei Duo and Qi Lan. The two walked hand in hand out of the school waving byebye to the teachers or to their friends, suddenly Qi Lan bumped onto someone very hard while she was looking upside the school building to wave at her friends

'I should have walk properly!' She looked at the person who she just bumped and quickly bow after seeing who it was , "Sorry Huang Junjun it was my mistake"

It was Huang Junjun, the popular boy of the school. He didn't look angry or sad or bored but just a blank expression, he quietly looked at Qi Lan and just nod before going away.

Qi Lan and Bei Duo looked at the figure going away from them

"I don't really understand why those girls are so into him, I mean he is good but he is too quiet. If I ever get detention with him, I would probably bang my head on the wallーuh oh, he never get detention anyways~"

Bei Duo clicked her tongue and flick Qi Lan's forehead which she whined in pain" Stupid! You are lucky to bump into Huang Junjun, be happy that he didn't give you a glare"

"Okay but what's with the forehead flick for!? My forehead is precious and it's swelling!"

Later at evening , Qi Lan went to her own coaching center where she had to take coaching for some subjects but when she came back to her house with lots of snacks plastic bag on her hand and singing happily while keeping her shoes at the shoe rack "Dear Majesty dad your princess daughter is home! Dear Highness Mother China your useless daughter is back home!"

She sang as if she was at the opera theater and continue on singing with whatever lyrics that's on her mind and opened the door still not glancing at her parents then she happily hoped into the kitchen and threw her bag on the counter then place all the snacks at rhe fridge, few at the snacks drawer.

Qi Lan felt something wasn't right because her father, mother and elder brother would nag her or shout at her to keep quiet but today they didn't and she just shake her head and started to dance some funny moves she recently saw from Tiktok, the alien dance while opening her snacks.

Dancing while singing the wrong lyrics she came up to the living room with her bag and mouth full of chips but then her face went pale seeing who were there at the living room, the snacks on her hand dropped on the floor, her face started to heat up.

It was Huang Junjun and two couples in their 50s were sitting together with her parents and Qi Lan's brother Qi Chen was already laughing under his breath, her father and mother were trying their best not to laugh seeing her face until Mother Yun Ruo spoke up "Xiao Lanlan come here, she is Madam Guan NingLu, her husband Mister Huang Qingxiao and their son Huang Junjun. They are our new neighbour's"

One look and they all can see the blush on Qi Lan's face and ears, she was embarrassed, 100% sure. 'What the hell did I do? what? new neighbours? and that also Huang Junjun?'

Qi Lan mentally started to curse herself and grab the snacks that fell on the ground and ran into her room after giving a bow then lock her room.

Then they all laughed seeing Qi Lan' s behavior while Huang Junjun just glanced at Qi Lan's room , "Xiao Lan is really cute , she is also a senior then that means our Junjun might know her too?"

"Yes I know Qi Lan, but she is in another section"

Meanwhile they were chatting Qi Lan was having her internal crisis and cannot shout or make any sound to make it more obvious but her brother Qi Wei clearly know what would she be doing. Qi Lan rolled left to right, right to left and trying to calm herself down

"So miss Qi Lan you practically embarrassed yourself in front of the Huang family, so seems like it's time for you to avoid Huang Junjun or any of his family when going out for school"
