14 CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Evelyn leans on the balcony. Her mind thought something made her snicker alone, she look like crazy woman but no. She bet Imhotep won't dare coming in here as Cleo walk around the house, she could purchase more cats she like to.

Jonathan wouldn't allowed it.

Imagine? Their house become a cats house. The peeing, the shit? Just imagine _ and the smell. Worst, they had to buy lots of food just for cats not for human.

Ardeth will turn into insane man if he stay longer than he wasn't expected.

Wherever he go Cleo will follow him behind. Cleo loves Ardeth than Evelyn or Jonathan. Hear door creaked behind her, Mama Madeline stood beside her.

"It's cold in here. What are you thinking?" ask Mama Madeline to Evelyn. "Child?"

She laid her hand on her shoulder. "Worried aren't you? About that _ what it called? Imhotep. We here darling. You don't have to worry about that".

"Like how? Ardeth was right. You and Mr. Charles are older that I can't trouble it. You can't fight Imhotep or shove him away. His powerful mummies, the undead who control the universe. He gain stronger since he start to killed".

Mama Madeline nod with smile. Evelyn spoke again. "I'm not worry. He can't kill me, he want me to be his. Still, you two are the only person me and Jonathan had since our parent death".

"You don't belong to him. Just let you know that". Sighing. "I notice you had a cat in here, beautiful. Cleo. Such a nice name but doesn't mean he won't coming in here".

"Mr. Charles getting jealous on him. What a beautiful name like he is. Ardeth Bay. If he can flirting with your mother why can't I?"

Mama Madeline snorts. "If I had a son I would like to name him like His. Ardeth Bay. So, he's here saving you again".

"I don't know what on my mind right now. I think having Cleo around me he won't get near me then. I believe that, the whole house seems pretty quiet. Don't you feel it?"

"It's night dear. Of course is quiet. The children are asleep".

Evelyn shaking her head.

"You too stress and tense dear. Don't take this seriously. You will take this seriously but _ don't until your get sick. It's not good for your health, you're young".

Breathing out loud. "For your own safe dear".

"He will do anything to get me, Mama Maddy. Who's will stop him to get me. No one can".

She bit her bottom lips. "He obsessed! He drive me crazy, there's no place I can escape from him. This is INSANE!"

After she said that, Ardeth burst inside her room. Both women are shocked to see him. He look around the room, his eyes stop at the women right front of him.

"What is going on? Are you alright, Evelyn". He ask.

"I'm good. Why?"

"I heard you scream".

"Doesn't mean I'm in trouble".

His eyes on Mama Madeline. "Did she bothered you?"

"No, Ardeth. Mama Maddy here with me because I'm upset that's all". He nod understand. "You alright?" She ask him back.

Ardeth, Mama Madeline are stared each other eyes. "She scared me". Backing away. Mama Madeline hand on her hips.

"Look into her eyes. She some kind of _ hypnotic me. Like asking my eyes to see hers. She trying to seducing me. This is bad. You're like my mother that's all I can said to you, I respect you because you an old woman. I'm not fighthing with the old person".

"Young man?" Mama Madeline said. "I maybe trying to flirting with you but I love my Charles. Understand Egypt boy?"

Ardeth nod. "You're not my type. I've been staring at you because you like my son. I've never had a child, we never. Trying but, God's not allowed it. Three of you are my child and under our care".

"That good to hear from your lips. Because it's uncomfortable while I'm here. Looks like we understand each other. And I forgive. Mother Madeline".

Evelyn turns to her. Mama Madeline now in tears as Ardeth mentioned mother words to her. She smile, wiping down her tears.

"I'd never had child did I mentioned? Thank you, Ardeth Bay".

"May Allah blessed you both". He smile. "I could keep hearing someone snoring that I never found what sorcerers is that".

"That would be my Charles. Trust me when he start sleeping the neighbour could hear him out". Smile. "Don't you have a wife".

He blinked. "Nah. Never had a wife. Not now. One thing is _ the creature. He still out there, by chance he will get Evelyn".

"Don't you dare try to scared me!"

"I'm not. I never did. Keep your Cleo away from me for while".

Cleo now walked towards Ardeth.

Quickly he turns his feet. Walking at the corridor straight to downstairs. She hear the main door creak open then shut behind from downstairs.

Cleo enter her room.

Now, with Ardeth are outside the house. Guarding the house, guarding her. In moment, Jonathan show up at her frame door after Ardeth left.

"What?"

"Checking on me, Jonathan?" She mocked him.

"I'd saw Ardeth outside the house. Guarding or something. On what purpose".

Evelyn jerked her eyes, then he remembered. "Oh. Yes. That problem. Sorry my dear sister. I suddenly forgot".

"Such a lame excuses, Jonathan. Should you be outside, wandering around the town. Drinking whatever it takes".

"Not tonight darling. Maybe". He snicker. "My god sister, look at you _? Reading to be His".

"Not even my death I do not wanting Him in here either." After that, Cleo slowly jumped at the edge of her bed then sleep.

Evelyn awe as she watch Cleo. Cutest creature people adore it so much. "I can't believe He'd afraid of cat".

"Lucky or wasn't? Never ever think that Cleo will protecting you from him. Cats were the guardian of the Underworld. Ardeth told us before".

Jonathan walk forward her then smile. "No matter what happen between you and Imhotep we will not giving you to him. Never. Unless you willing it".

"That such disgusting, Jonathan".

Mama Madeline interrupted the sibling. "Children please it's night off to bed both of you. We talked about this later then. Cleo is here company you, your safe my dear".

"Great. Thank you". Mama Madeline left the room. "Now shoo, Jonathan. Eesh!"

"I'm gonna talked with Ardeth then I taking a taxi toward the city where I can met my friends and the girls. Such fun I'd said".

Evelyn rolled her eyes up. Jonathan out from her room. She follow him behind, shut the door after he left the room. She look over her shoulder where Cleo at, she soundly sleep at the edge of her bed. Smile, she walk to her bed.

"You're lucky. An ancient Egypt worship of cats. But you don't know what this creature worship for".

Later midnight. As she sleep on bed. Imhotep had entered Evelyn's room by slipping through the keyhole as sand. Coming close to her bed, he mused on Evelyn being Nefertiri and kissed her full on the lips again without her awake.

He then carried her in his arm.

Finally he had her without trouble. Not the Medjai or Cleo around her. She fully belongs to him.

The next morning, the sun rise up. Mama Madeline knocking at the main door but no one is answer. She turn the knob and the door weren't lock. Maybe Jonathan forgot to lock the door last night after he's back from the town.

Where's is Ardeth Bay? She brought breakfast for them.

"Evelyn? Jonathan? Ardeth?" She shout their name. The house is empty. "Anyone?"

Her feet entering the house, she look around. "Evelyn?"

Her shaking voice called again, walking upstairs straight to Evelyn room. Finding the room are empty and no sight of her.

The bed are mess. But the window?

"EVELYN!"

Ardeth walked at the sidewalk, he just got back from his morning touring, exercise a bit. As usual the weather in London are cold. Having cup of coffee and hot bun as he walk back to the Carnahan house.

Finishing his breakfast, from a far he hear Mama Madeline scream from the inside of the house.

Panic. He run towards the house. "Evelyn!"

Running upstairs where Mama Madeline stood. "Evelyn!" Another heavy footstep running behind him. It was Jonathan. "What happen in here?"

"Evelyn! She's gone. The door weren't lock. Jonathan and you nowhere to be seen. Evelyn? Her bed are mess, this is not her. I knew her. She wasn't like this, after she wake she will tidy up her bed. Compared than Jonathan".

Her eyes on him. Jonathan face changing. Ardeth look over his shoulder where Jonathan stood. "You made fun of me, Mama Maddy".

"There's not time to talk about how lazy you are, Jonathan. Please continue".

"And this". Mama Madeline point around the room. "Where is she?"

Ardeth entering the room. He senses something. "I smell dead".

He said close his eyes. Until Cleo purring around his legs. He open up his eyes. "I sense something but not Cleo". He look down at the cat. "You must be know where your master when".

"When where?" ask Jonathan. "Town? Having a nice coffee. And she didn't inviting us".

Ardeth exhaled. "That not the point. The creature is here last night where'd have you been? He took her. I didn't expected the creature return while I'm away. Thy must be know where I were last night".

"Imhotep. He took her? My dear sister".

"I should be here last night. I was wandering around the neighborhood. I was looking for him and it was a mistake. He's here all alone before me".

Mama Madeline ask him. "You know where he took her, Ardeth? We must safe her before it's too late. I know because Evelyn told me what he want from her".

"What should do now?" Jonathan rub both of his temple. "We don't know where could he bring her".

"There only one place that creature brought her back".

He stared. "He brought Evelyn back to Hamunaptra. Where all it started. The beginning of their love, he will show her who really she was, her past life. The Pharoah Seti I daughter. Princess of Egypt, wife of Ramesses II. And she _ Princess Nefertiri".

"Princess what?" Mama Madeline curious. "Evelyn is the princess?"

Both stared. Ardeth spoke again. "Which mean we starting now!"
