He made his way around the underground chambers, despite his own eyes and tongue having rotted away over the centuries. Upon finding Bernard in the corridors, he used his powers to forcibly remove Bernard's eyes and tongue.

He stepped out of the shadows, causing Evelyn to shriek in horror at the sight of the reanimated mummy. He stepped closer, squinting at her, believing her to be his long-lost lover Nefertiri. Having stolen Bernard's eyes, his eyesight was faulty. He then extended his hand to her, telling her to come with him.

He then saw Ardeth quickly ran into the chamber to retrieve Evelyn, and had a moment of shock when he saw him. Jonathan and others explorer who saw him to.

He had reached Cairo by scent Evelyn means of disguising himself as a prince in black garments, complete with a mask to hide his face.

The plan set forth was that he would remain in disguise so that he could enter Mr. Burns residence without being discovered. He first went after the now blind Bernard Burns.

Intent was to take the rest of Burns organs and fluids, he then removing his mask, revealing his rotted face.

Back to now. Imhotep close his eyes as he remembered everything he did. He look down on his body, his flesh and muscles regenerated itself, creeping up his dried bones.

After Burns, he kill his next victim. All the americans explorer been kill by him. Except the Carnahan's and the chieftain of the medjai, Ardeth Bay. Now even stronger than before, he now fully regenerated.

He doesn't know what time it was. All he know about last night. He got back from Carnahan's house where he scent her since she stumbled upon his sarcophagus, was buried at the feet of a statue of Anubis.

He pinned her on bed, he kiss her. How he longing to have her in his arm. Last night is the most gift ever he had. Nefertiri.

3,000 years he been waited someone would bring him back and she did. Now, he's here. In the future of Egypt. Something bothering him, the chieftain of the medjai, Ardeth Bay.

Carnahan's home. Noon. Jonathan lean on single chair, Ardeth stood front of the window. Evelyn stay in dining room. He hear her sighing so loud, he snorts regarding of what she did.

The Book of the Death in safe place with her. She must've be thinking how to send Imhotep back into the underworld, unless she an ideas or The Book of Amun-Ra would help her.

That it's, she need that book.

"Let said how to kill Him?" said Jonathan. "We can't just stabs him with knife, shoot him or something am I right?"

Evelyn rub her back head, he spoke back. "He must be powerful to fight for".

"Yes. He too powerful. I have a news". Evelyn out from dining room. "The americans? all died tragically".

"How?"

"Imhotep. He kill all of them".

Evelyn step out. "Why he kill them?!"

"Back to be a man of course. Like he use to when his alive".

"Include Mr. Burns?" ask Evelyn. Ardeth nod his head. "Imhotep took his eyes and tongue. Now, his dead. I hate him".

Ardeth stare her, said. "That's funny to hear. Hate him. I mean - his High Priest of Osiris, trusted adviser and close confidant of Seti I, the Pharaoh".

"You made my day, Evelyn".

She snorts. "What's so funny of that? He kill innocent men. What? For organs and fluids so he became what he became. A man he use to be when his alive. That ridiculous".

"I think what best he did. What you gonna do about it?".

She look into a mirror then walk toward the door, Ardeth watch she doing. She turns back to the men behind her.

"If you two excuse me I'm going to work. Dr. Bey waited for me. And seek for this man background, a history who just kill the explorer".

She turns her feet, bolting out from the house. Ardeth turn to Jonathan who shrugged.

"She's yours".

Later. Evelyn in library. Her finger and eyes searching for the book. A book about Imhotep.

Her heart suddenly pumping, felt someone standing behind her while she searched the book. She feel Him behind her. She turned and no one, she was alone.

"Miss Carnahan?" She shrieked. Turn behind her. "I wasn't try to eat you, I'm sure you alright".

She drag down her glasses to her crooked nose. She gulp and sweating. "You scared me".

"Ah, do I? Do I scared you? Was it because you found something in Hamunaptra? I can't believe you - you did it and alive. Like I'd said most of them don't".

He sigh continue. "Last night something happen on the sky while I was awake. It suddenly turn into red, and saw people running and shocked after see it. Was it you? A cursed from Hamunaptra you bring in here"

"Pfft, you can't be serious, Dr. Wasn't me do that to the sky". She lied. She do worst than the red sky. "I was shocked too".

She hide her guilt. "Anyway. This is Egypt. Sometimes it happen even that wasn't from me".

"Then why you sweating when I'd said that".

"That because you scared me. Standing behind me with no word, or coughing to show your presence. Of course I scared, Abdul could scared to, Mohammed too if you do the same thing".

She lied again. She sweating because she feel Imhotep right behind her, not Bey.

"I'd said that". She sigh with fake smile. Walk passed him, and started to look Imhotep's book at another section.

She hear Bey leave her alone. She sigh again, lean her forehead on the shelves. Finally he left her in peace. Now, she must find this book.

Imhotep, Nefertiri, the Pharaoh Seti I. What connection three of them. She thought herself.

"Oh God helped me to find this book". With bless, one of the book drop on the floor. She look on her left. Curious.

It sound like from the restriction room. She look around her. "Abdul?" She walk. "Mohammed?"

No one.

Hurried her feet toward the restriction room. A room that been forbid by Dr. Bey. She thought people who coming in here for book were there. This is restrict section, no people allowed except for Dr. Bey.

Well for her to if Bey ask her to clean the shelves.

Entering. She saw book on the floor between the shelves. How possible heavy book like this jumped out from the shelves itself?

She knee down and reach the book.

"What do you think you doing in this section, Miss Carnahan?"

She shriek again. Book she held on her chest. "Don't you do that! How many time you gonna scared me like that!"

"Until you realise being in Hamunaptra it was a mistake".

"I don't regret what I've did. I'm still alive and I - I'am alive".

Bey snorts. "Did you found anything desire in this section? Which book you like? Split the earth into two? Blood river? River of the Nile? Execution? Cursed?"

"No. Why would I do that?" She stare him. "It drop on the floor". She show him. "Now, I have to put where it belong".

Bey nod then he smile for no reason. "I think I might help you with that. Come to my office".

She follow him behind. As they walk at the corridor, she saw Abdul and Mohammed talking outside the museum, drinking tea and smocking. Her eyes then back at the back of Bey.

They two arrive at the office. Bey hold the door for her as she enter. Smell fishy in here, why sudden Bey act kindness to her. Did he know that Imhotep -

"Sit". She drag the chair and sit. "You look distracting, I'm sure your sweat wasn't because of me standing right behind you. It was something other than me".

He smile again, open his drawer. "This might help you". He show her the book she been looking for. History of Imhotep. He push and she reach it slowly.

"Seems the right book you've been looking for. Yes, Imhotep. This book will tell you who Imhotep are".

"Who's Nefertiri?" she ask him.

He smile, push his chair. "Is all in this book. I leave you with it". He out from his office. Evelyn watch him left the room. Soon he close the door behind him, she bring the book and sit on the carpet.

And she began her read.

"Well that cute. Can we skip it? I want to know why he called me, Nefertiri".

"Nefertiri?"

She jolt. Almost throw the book, she look at the door, Bey on view.

"Nefertiri is the Pharaoh daughter Seti I. Some said he loves her. There's nothing they said about Imhotep crimes on that book, the Pharaoh keep it secret because he respect Imhotep as his own son. He attended on many occasions with the Pharaoh, including a sparring match between Amunet and Nefertiri. Nefertiri lost the fight to Amunet, and was embraced by Imhotep than the pharaoh himself".

He nod. "Well sort of. The pharaoh did embraced his daughter after Imhotep did. His always with Nefertiri no matter what. His loves for her never ended".

"I'd want to know his crimes".

Bey shake his head. "No one mention it. I told you, the pharaoh keep the secret, no one knows what crimes Imhotep did".

He walk toward his desk. "I hear you saying He called you Nefertiri. What do you mean by He? Did I missed something".

"No. not at all. I've dream about Nefertiri". She lied. "Well, just a dream no one will figured it out, who cares about the dream".

He smirk, said. "Indeed. But seems you knowing about His return. Don't!"

"I've never said anything. I swear I didn't".

"You want my advice, Miss Carnahan? If someone brought Him to lived I'm sure this is the end of the world. He will have this world, rules this world, raise the army. And the mean time people start screaming for help".

She gulped. Nod her head understand. Bey doesn't know Imhotep are returns from his death. He's out there. But where?

"He claimed what he want". He study her. "You remind me of someone, the pharaoh daughter, Nefertiri. Of course. Your her reincarnation. Well good luck for that".

She's up from the carpet, hand on her hips. Anger. "What that supposed to mean?"

"Your the pharaoh reincarnation daughter. If Imhotep returns - you're his priority to claim for. He will hunt you down no matter where you go. You will feel his presence around you".

She did. She feel Him. "You joking".

"Was I? I think not".

"I can't love him".

"Who said you must love him, Miss Carnahan? You don't have to, He will". Chuckle and sigh, he spoke back. "He won't hurt you. He loves you".

She snarl. "Put yourself on my shoes, Dr. Bey".

"As long he know who you are. He won't hurt you. But you must learn one thing from Imhotep".

"What?"

"Imhotep always love you. So, he did to Nefertiri. Nothing can't keep Him and Nefertiri apart".

He correct himself. "I mean Imhotep and you apart".
