Chapter 165: Interruption at the Night

Two days later, at Kuoh High School, Asia Argento was introduced to her classmates as a foreign student that had just moved to the city to live with her uncle, teacher Ravenclaw. Issei was very surprised by her presence in the school and, as soon as people let Asia breathe from the copious amounts of questions that she was receiving, he went to talk to the cute blonde.

After a little talk, Issei discovered that Gabriel had given Asia the opportunity to choose what she wanted to do from now on and, incredible enough, Asia's choice was to go to school. While in the convent, where she had grown up, Asia never had the opportunity to go to a normal school and live a normal life. Every day was filled with sermons, bible study, and being taught by the old nuns. She had no opportunity to make friends since a 'saint' did not need such things. Now that she was given the choice, she wanted to go to school to try and live a normal life. Well, normal while she was at school since Joan had offered to teach the gentle nun how to use her blessing better. Initially, the idea was to let Asia enroll in a school in The Nexus. But, since the idea was to have a life school as normal as one can get, it was decided that she would be enrolled in Kuoh High School since the schools in The Nexus were very far from normal for a normal human. After all, what normal school would have Magic as a core subject? In Kuoh High School, Asia would be under Erik's protection all time and would have the opportunity to make friends her age.

After the classes time ended that day, Erik called for a little meeting with the two Kings. The meeting was quick with Erik mainly saying the two heiresses that Asia Argento was a 'no go' for recruitment. He went as far as explaining the girl's past to them together with the almost certain identity of the Devil responsible for her excommunication from the church. The two Kings, of course, had heard about the perversion that was the heir of the Astaroth clan, Diodora, but they had taken it as just gossip between young Devils. Well, it was not. It seemed that Asia was not the first young nun that had been plotted against in the last year. All of them had some special ability and had been excommunicated because of some 'grave sin'. Unfortunately, aside from Asia, all the young nuns disappeared soon after leaving their convents and were never seen again. After launching an investigation, it was discovered that more than a few corrupt church members were paid to excommunicate them by a young-looking Devil with blue hair that carried the Astaroth clan shield with him. Said corrupt people were, of course, harshly punished, and Heaven, together with a little help from Erik's information gathering group, managed to gather enough evidence to make an official complaint about the deviant Devil that was pouching the nuns. They were not expecting any great result from it, aside from a slap in the hand of Diodora Astaroth, but, luckily for them, the person who received such complaints coming from 'foreign' sources was Serafall's office, and the Magical Girl Levia-tan had been thirsty for some time already to deliver some justice/punishment to those old fools in the council.

With the message delivered, the two Kings promised Erik that they would not try to recruit Asia into their Peerages. And as a reward of sorts, Erik decided to tease the two Kings with the bones that he had thrown at them almost one year ago.

"By the way, girls, congratulations on finding two of the three students with the highest potential~."

After saying his piece, Erik left the room while leaving behind two Devils that had some competitive fire burning in their eyes, ready to search again through the school for the missing 'bone'.

Three weeks quickly passed again with Erik continuously observing the growth of the children. Asia had fit very well within the school, making a lot of friends during this period. Her gentle and innocent personality quickly conquered a lot of her classmates. Between them was Aika Kiryuu, who took as her personal mission to try to corrupt the gentle ex-nun into a pervert like her in the most subtle way possible after seeing how innocent and oblivious Asia was to the matter of boys and girls. Outside school time, Asia classes on magic were going well too. Her teacher, Joan, quickly discovered that she had no talent whatsoever for attack-type light magic, something heavily influenced by her gentle personality. With that in mind, Joan focused on the other aspects of light magic, that being healing, barriers, and seals, with the first one being exclusively for her to not become dependent on her Sacred Gear. Aside from magic classes, Joan taught some self-defense to the girl too. As a healer, she needed to know how to react to threats that got too close to her, after all, a 'down' healer could not heal anyone.

Issei's growth had been a fast one too within Rias' Peerage. The boy had finally awakened Ddraig, much to the red dragon emperor 'despair' when he saw who was his host teacher at school. Ddraig still remembered very well the beating that he and Albion had got from Erik and Joan's hands. Not that was without reason. After that episode, Ddraig and Albion started to discipline their next host in finding the right spot to have their fights. Preferably one that would cause the least collateral damage possible to their surroundings.

As the week closed in, the members of the Occult Research Club noticed the worsening mood of their president. All of the older members of the peerage knew the reason behind it but no one wanted to tell Issei the reason for it. That behavior was starting to irritate the boy. Weren't they supposed to be a family? Family helped each other when in need! Erik, as an observer, already knew what was happening due to his spies and what he knew from his past life. Rias' father, Lord Gremory, was, together with Lord Phenex, pressuring the teenage girl in the advance of her wedding date, disregarding completely the accord made between daughter and father previously. With enough time, Rias was sure that her peerage could surpass her fiancee's in strength, allowing her to, basically, do the same thing that Sona had done to her suitors when her father had tried to do the same by announcing that she would only marry someone that defeated her in a game of chess but using a rating game match for it. She was getting desperate, and desperate people tended to make stupid decisions. And she did it.

Like what had happened in the novel that he had read and in the anime that he had watched in his past life, Rias teleported herself, naked, in the middle of the night to the bedroom of her Pawn, Issei Hyoudou, and asked him to take her first. Issei, just like his counterpart, immediately knew that there was something very wrong with his King, and while being more mature than his counterpart, immediately sat the girl down to talk. As Erik watched the scene inside the lounge room in his dummy house in Kuoh, he sensed a new teleportation incoming to the boy's bedroom and decided to mess with it by changing the target destination in it. A frosty-looking Grayfia appeared by Erik's side in the middle of motes of red light and looked around, ready to stop her little sister-in-law from doing something foolish, but she was not expecting her transportation magic to be hijacked, by Erik Ravenclaw nonetheless.

"Lord Ravenclaw, what is the meaning of this?"

Grayfia asked Erik, who pointed at a magical projection on the wall.

"Just watch, Grayfia. Your interference is not necessary anymore."

Erik said to the frosty maid, who turned to look at the scene passing in the projection. It was showing the happenings inside Issei's bedroom where a covered Rias was crying her eyes out while talking with Issei, letting go of all of her grievances. The boy had taken his bedsheets and wrapped them around the girl's body before calming her down enough for them to talk. Grayfia watched in silence as her little sister-in-law cried her heart out, while the boy listened and tried to find a different solution from giving her virginity away.

"I see. It really seems that my interference is not necessary."

Grayfia said as she continued to watch the projection. Erik nodded his head in agreement while keeping himself quiet. Half an hour later, Rias teleported back to her home in the human world after promising Issei to get the peerage together the next day and discuss a plan of action with everyone. But not before jumping at Issei and giving the boy a sudden kiss on the lips as thanks, leaving behind a wide smiling Issei. As the scene ended, Erik waved his hand and ended the magical projection.

"It seems that Rias made her decision."

Erik commented to Grayfia, who nodded her head

"Indeed, it seems like it. And she found a good Peerage member."

Grafia replied to Erik while commending Issei's behavior. Erik laughed at that.

"Yes. The Red Dragon Emperor of this generation is indeed an interesting one."

Erik said shocking Grayfia that had no information yet about the new pawn of Rias aside from his human life history.

"I see. Better go back and tell Sirzechs that he will have to intervene then with the plan that he had traced before."

Grayfia said and started to cast her transportation spell. A red magic circle with the Gremory's clan shield appeared on the ground.

"Give my regards to Sirzechs and tell him to prepare himself too. Some bad elements are preparing to make some moves against peace in the background."

Erik said to Grayfia, whose only reaction was the brief widening of her eyes followed by a nod of her head.

"Have a nice night, Lord Ravenclaw."

Grayfia replied and let go of her transportation spell.

"You too, Grayfia, you too."

Erik replied to grayfia just before she disappeared between motes of red light, leaving Erik alone in the room.

*sigh*

Letting out a sigh while thinking about all the movements being done in the background, Erik cast his transportation magic spell and disappeared in the middle of motes of blue light, going back home for the day to spend some quality time with his family. Blessed be the soul that came with the idea of time turners for allowing him to keep an eye on Kuoh at times like this while not putting his family aside.
