17 To Be Your Wife

The night sky was filled with a whirring sound coming from a white helicopter landing on the rooftop of the 40-storey building. Cameras flashed at the sides as it softly sits on the x mark on the ground.

"Here comes the Stone couple! Hurry take a picture!" The news reporters moved forward but none crossed the red rope that separates them from the carpet of the couple. No one dares to cross that line.

Farrah went down the chopper first with one swift jump followed by Daemon's new butler, Alex. The two resembled twins as both their hairs are shoulder length and black. Their body builts are slim yet one could see how agile and strong they are in those black suits. Alex scanned the rooftop with his gray eyes before nodding to Farrah.

The helicopter's engine slowly turned off. A man in medium body built standing 6 foot tall and a few inches more in a navy blue suit appeared. The scar on his right brow was clearly prominent and added a dangerous aura around him. His unsmiling face never batted a glance at the waiting crowd. Instead, he lifted his left hand in front of the chopper's door and waited for a slim white hand to land on it. Her nails were clean and cut short unlike any spoiled queens in the industry. As she went down, her dark blue slacks and white blouse complemented the man's suit beside her. She adjusted her black rimmed glasses and smiled with her nude lips. No make-up as usual, that is how they have seen her. Her clean appearance made with her slim body and classic ways reminded everyone around her who she was, The Queen.

All the reporters held their breathe as she ascended down the chopper and walked beside him, The Monster.

"We will be taking in our full responsibility now as our position calls for." Daemon announced as his hand slowly held Maia's shoulder as if securing her beside him. She looked up at him and adjusted her glasses.

"My husband and I... have been quiet all these years. But as the times have been involving the lives of other people, we would like to deal with the business on our own. We hope for your cooperation." she didn't even land a frown nor a smile at the crowd. They were completely being ignored by the couple.

"Ehem. Would the disappearance of some directors part of your. "plans" of dealing with the situation Mrs. Stone?" a reporter at the back said.

His smile was alluring and charming just like his blue eyes which are looking at the lovely couple.

"Mr. Rivers, our positions for this issue stand with justice. If there are any improvements on the cases, we will let the public know." And the couple was about halfway the path when another question was thrown their way.

"No more substitutes or actors? How do we really know that you two are the real Stones?" The crowd looked at Blake. He seems not to know death when it is staring at him in the face.

"It's for you to find out." That deep voice ended the other questions lingering on the reporters minds.

Blue eyes shined as it concentrated on two huge hands around a slim figure in black and white. His gaze never left the two figures until the door closed and shut the reporters from their own world.

Maia looked out the floor to ceiling window. The city lights are almost dancing in her eyes but she couldn't see the beauty of the night scene. Her mind kept wandering.

"Daemon, how come did the position of Mrs. Stone be so hard?" without looking at him, she said.

He was sitting on her office table and looking at some paperworks before she asked. "Customs and traditions." He placed the papers down and crossed his hands in front of his face. "Are you tired? Do you want to rest?"

"I have wanted to... for a long time."

Her words carried deeper meanings sending a frown to his brows. "You don't want to be my wife anymore?"
