3 This Will be a Long Ride

A week has passed and the couple started talking more about business under their companies.

Mr. Vladymone Stone and Mrs. Nehemia Stone are both business tycoons before entering their marriage. The couple have started as small and silent business owners.

Click clack click clack...

The sound of steady steps of stilettos disturbed the quiet hallway of the Stones Inc. The rooms and hallways are all lit up but only a few guards here and there are present.

The silhouette of a slender woman in a black suit walked the hallways and the elevator doors. No one dared to bother calling out to her. Her cat-like sharp brown eyes just pass by the guards and they nod to her in return. They knew who she was.

The powerful secretary of Mrs. Stone~Maia Phillips.

On the way to the top floor, she looked for the guard before entering the CEO's office.

"Higgs! " she called out. No shadow came into view. The air was cold. The surroundings was black. But her heart was calm and steady. She squinted her eyes and scanned the area.

"Come out. " Calmly and full of awareness, she whispered.

"Keen as the Madame said you were, " the deep voice echoed through the thin air as a man in white long sleeves and black trousers came from behind her.

"You... Did Mr. Stone sent you?" She asked not even turning around to glance at the man.

"Whether he sent me or not is none of your concern Ms. Phillips. I came here just to fetch you."

"For what? I don't have any scheduled appointments with you."

"Just a little friendly chat, just to get to know each other better since we are going to be together most of the time."

Maia raised one of her brows and just surrendered. Maybe she would get some information about Mr. Stone through this Daemon guy.

"All right, wait for me here."

She went through the office and directly dialled the phone. She asked for the missing guard and reported a trespasser.

"Ma'am, Mrs. Stone called him in before you arrived."

"I see."

She put down the phone and quickly grabbed some files on the CEOs table. She needed to study some files from the company Mr. Stone has newly set up and maybe his Butler may come in handy.

As she finished placing the files inside her bag, she heaved a deep sigh.

'This is going to be a long ride home, ' she thought to herself.
