Hidden Truth: The uncovered secret

My head hurt as I awoke, I tried to recall what had happened but couldn't remember a thing. I tried to get up and move but all I felt was this stinging pain all over my body, but why? And what was a knife doing in my hand? I thought to myself as I looked around and it seemed a little bit dark in the room, was I in the basement? I moved closer reaching for the stairs when suddenly I heard it, the sound that made my heart beat so fast I felt panic creep inside me. I moved backwards, looking around in search for a spot to hide. I heard these footsteps and wondered why I got so frightened by them. Why was I hiding and who was this person I hid from?
