5 Enchanted

I was so stunned I just stood there for a moment lost in my thoughts. Was this the voice of the woman in my head? Had my feet known where to go before my head had time to process and realize it? Or was I just imagining it? Could it really have been this easy? Then she came out from the shelves and I couldn't believe what I saw. Not only was she beautiful but she was perfectly beautiful. Her warm and inviting deep blue eyes like the depths of the ocean, her dark golden brown hair loosely in a bun, her dark gypsy skin tone was flawless, I couldn't take my eyes off her. Especially since her aura was like none I'd ever seen before. It mirrored the way mine was this morning, the way it changed and danced as if it was full of life and mystery.

She must have realized I was staring because she nervously cleared her throat and walked over to the register.

"I-I'm sorry ma'am, I se-seem to be a little lost. I was won-wondering if you could help me?" I stuttered as I tried to look at anything but her.

"No worries, babe." As she said those very words it was like the world around me was dissolving and all I could see was her. "What was it you were looking for? Do you need to call a cab or something?"

I just stood there in shock again, I didn't know what to say to her. She was the voice in my head but I couldn't just blurt that out. I don't even know her name.

"Uh, no," I finally manage to say. "I don't need a cab." I tried to come up with something to say but I couldn't think of anything but her voice. "I, uh, c-can I look a-around your shop?" I knew it was idiotic to say but I couldn't come up with anything else, I just knew I didn't want to leave. For the first time in my life I actually wanted to be around someone other than Lucifer.

"Sure, be my guest hun," My heart was erratic every time she spoke. "Let me know if you find something you like." She smiled before returning to her work at the counter, I thought for sure my heart was going to jump from my chest and land right in front of her.

I just nodded and disappeared between the closest shelves, not trusting my voice anymore. I couldn't help but think to myself that I found what I didnt realize I wanted, her. I tried to look like I was browsing through the books but really I was too busy trying to watch her without her seeing me. I pulled a random book from the shelf to seem like I had found something of interest, I was turning pages randomly, skimming through it when something caught my eye. I opened the book more and looked at the picture. It was of a woman who seemed to have an aura of very bright color but I couldn't tell with it being a black and white photo. I'd never seen a picture that had someone's aura in it that wasn't on a paranormal website, which could be a fake, or in a movie. The caption said she was one of the very few and very rare dark chasers who were born with a soul of light and hunted the shadows of the night.

I closed the book and read the title, 'The Ancient Mythology of The Azulian People' I stood there for a second then turned around, heading for the register where I figured she would still be. As I rounded the corner, not paying attention, I bumped right into her.

"I-I am so in-incredibly sorry!" I stuttered as I drop the book and reach out to catch her before she falls into the shelf, luckily I do just that.

We stood there with our eyes locked and me still holding her waist. I felt my heart racing and my hands became clammy. I cleared my throat and slowly let go of her as I looked around nervously. She just watched me for a moment with those incredibly deep blue eyes.

Before I could say or do anything she picked up the book I had dropped. She looked at it then back at me. When she spoke it was almost as if she was scared, I could tell by the flicker in her aura, something was troubling her. I wanted so badly to know everything about her.

"Are you wanting to purchase this?" She spoke as if she hoped I'd say no.

I looked at her for a moment then back to the book. "I'm not sure," I pause for a second, collecting my thoughts. "I was actually wondering if you could tell me a little more about it."

"I don't think this book is for you." She sounded as if her words were supposed to be a warning.

"I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're saying." I could not fathom how a book, of all things, would be dangerous.

"I dont believe we have anything here for you. You need to leave." She was stern, she was trying to throw me out, I had to know why.

I took a deep breath through my nose and blurted out, " You're the woman who's voice has been stuck in my head since we bumped into each other last night when I," I stopped myself before telling her I was hunting. "I was walking the bars."

She was half way to the door when she stopped and just stood there. For the first time ever, I could not tell what she was feeling, her aura was changing so much. As she turned around she stared at me and I tried not to stare back.

"What do you see?" She asked as she walked back toward me.
