2 Part time job

Y/n: "Your Name"

================================================================================================================================================================

Y/n's POV:

I wasn't even in Atlas anymore, they had to ship me to Vale because apparently no one in Vacuo, Atlas or Anima were available for taking me during probation. I didn't really care, I didn't recognize any of the countries they talked about, their regions. I was just told that neither Anima nor Vacuo wanted to take me in and that I was in Atlas.

I sat down on a giant plane they called a bullhead. It looked like it came out of a videogame or anime. I sighed and just waited for me to reach the location. I looked at the window and looked at the reflection. I sighed.

I looked like the protagonist from persona 5, it's not just a cosplay anymore, even my face changed in shape, making me look exactly like him. Yesterday it felt super weird – now though, I couldn't care less.

Apparently the place they want to drop me off on is very far from Atlas since we had to make various stops.

When we finally reached it I couldn't help but sighing. It was definitely the sketchy part of town; there were several alley ways with multiple questionable establishments. Hell even the police officers look confused, they pushed me towards a pub looking place, they opened the door and then closed them behind us.

It wasn't a pub, it was a club, a dancing club, the policemen made me walk until the bar and from the other side a tall man with a beard, he had black hair, beard and eyes and wore a suit – he looked like a bartender... maybe because he was one.

"Junior Xiong?" asked one of the police officers behind me, the man nodded and then looked at me, his eyes narrowed.

"Who's the kid?" asked Junior, crossing his arms, "And why are Atlan soldiers like you two all the way here in vale?" he asked, making the two police officers sigh and hand him some papers.

"This young man is Y/n Kurusu, he was detained for illegal possession of weapons." Answered the police officer, making Junior nod and then look at me with risen eyebrows.

"You said you were willing to hold reforming members of society, since no one in Atlas or Mistral were willing we had to come all the way here." The other police officer said, pushing me forwards, "Don't I get paid for doing this?" he asked, making the police officers nod, "Yes, you will be paid for this." they answer, Junior grinned and took the papers before signing them.

Soon after the police officers left, Junior pulled me to the other side of the bar. "You better not cause any trouble kid." he said, making me nod.

"Well, let me show you to your room." He pushed past the group of people, allowing us to get to the other side of the room, on the other side of the club was a door which we went through, the door led to stairs which we went up.

This place had four floors above the club, the first is the club, the second and third are accommodations and the fourth is an attic, if I wasn't surrounded by people who looked like they could kick my head off my shoulders I'd laugh to just how similar this situation is to persona 5.

I of course was going to be living in the attic – which although mostly occupied by different things also had a lot of space, around half of the club downstairs. I turned around and looked at the other side of the small hall, there was another door, I wasn't too interested to find out what there was behind that door.

"You'll be sleeping here from now on, the bed is all the way at the back, let me go get you a few things you might need."he said, walking out of the room.

When I went to the back and started moving some boxes around, most of the stuff here has definitely not been moved since it was placed here – most likely a few months ago. They all have a layer of dust on them.

A little while after Junior came back with some stuff, like a closed bar of soap, shampoo, blankets and one pillow. He handed them to me and then I put them on the desk I had just discovered behind boxes.

"Yea, make yourself at home – you'll be here for a while." he said, making me nod, "Also, I don't have extra toothbrushes lying around so you'll have to do some shopping." he said, I nodded, "Not much for words are you?" he asked, making me shake my head.

'Not really.' I thought, trying to take out all of the dust off the bed before putting the blankets and pillow. After arranging my bed I sat on it. "There's a bathroom behind that box over there," Junior pointed at a box to my left, I nodded and then he sighed, "I heard you have no documents, so I'll have to do something about that..."

"We'll be going to a school in a few days, from what I understood you're a civilian right? No weapon certificate." he said, making me nod, "There aren't many schools around for civilians only, so you'll have to learn some self-defense – I can pay for your classes, but I won't teach you myself."with that he left the room . He doesn't know, but I don't need some self defense class to help me, I have practiced several martial arts.

After Junior left I continued cleaning up the room I was in. I sat down and tried to think of where I was, how I got here and try to remember where I came from, but every time I thought about where I came from I got a headache, when I asked myself how I got here I got blanks as answers and where I was... well I was in vale... that's somewhere apparently.

I went inside the bathroom and saw dust covering everything, even the mirror, I sighed and swiped my hand on the mirror so I could see my own reflection. I remember seeing a drug exchange or a drug export – while I saw it I had a persona 5 cosplay.

The weird thing was that, the cosplay changed – I am now wearing what Joker in persona 5 wore when he first got to Leblanc, which I don't think is a coincidence, something is happening, something I'm not aware of, but still experiencing.

I sighed and walked out to the club, "You're heading out?" asked Junior, I turned to the source of his voice and nodded, I wanted to get acquainted with the area. "Here are your papers." he said, throwing me a small binder which I took, 'How did he have time to get all of this?' I questioned, looking inside and checking through my papers, "When?" I asked, he smirked.

"I'm Junior, the best informant in Vale,"He cleared his throat, "...Also you spent like four hours in your room." He continued making me nod. I had no idea time had flown so much while I was cleaning up the room.

"I got you a weapon certificate, make sure to carry it around with you just in case." he said, I nodded and searched my pockets, I took out my wallet and placed the ID and weapon certificate card in it before walking back to my room and placing the documents down.

With that all done I walked outside to get to know the area better. I walked around and looked around, there were quite a lot of interesting stores around. I entered the closest one to the club, I made sure that it didn't look sketchy.

It was a fast food place, if I had money I would buy something to eat – but I don't so I left and looked around.

There was an interesting weapon model shops which also had several other models, there was also a cool electronics shop I should check out later along with a place with furniture. I looked around every shop around.

The best part was that it was crowded around here, it was quite empty – and it wasn't even that late right now. I looked around the clothing shops – the fashion was really weird wherever I was, they sold armor in clothing shops for some reason, weird, really really weird.

I stopped at a small sign on one of the various streetlights. Apparently there were a lot of stores in need of a part timer – weird, but very much welcomed.

I walked towards the closest store in need of a part time worker – dust till dawn was it's name. I walked inside and looked at the cashier.

We talked for a few minutes as he tried to ask for my qualifications, work experience and such. I answered everything truthfully and obviously tried to make myself look better by not highlighting the negatives about myself.

Thankfully I was hired and would work there in the afternoons Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting today of course, since today was a Thursday.

I wore the uniform and then started working as the new cashier while the previous one stocked the items around. I honestly had no idea what we sold – so I had to take one of the various catalog showing the different type of "dust" we sold.

I won't lie, I was worried they sold drugs, I mean what kind of name is dust?!

As I read the catalog I saw someone get in the store with the corner of my eyes, "Hello." I heard her say. I lowered my catalog to look at who had entered the shop. She had black hair with red tips, two big and bright silver eyes. She was wearing a gothic dress with some red accents and a cape hood thing?

Is this what's popular now a days?

Damn... It looks like a persona cosplay gone wrong.

"Hello, welcome to Dust till Dawn," I said, she looked quite nervous, "Um – er– I-I'd like to buy some f-fire and ice crystalized dust..." she said in mumbles while looking down and fidgeting. I nodded and looked at her, "Can I see your ID and weapon certificate?" I asked, she looked up and blinked before nodding and handing them to me.

"You're new here." she said as I checked her ID and weapon certificate.

[ID]

(A/n: For the dates it's day/month/year, also I have no clue when RWBY is set in place, so the year at the end of the card is random)

<Name: Ruby Rose>

<Age: 15>

<Blood type: -B>

<Birth Date: 5/11/03>

<Date of expiration: 1>

<ID Number: 110984425>

[Weapon certificate]

<Name: Ruby Rose>

<Date obtained: 5/11/09>

<Date of expiration: 11/5/50>>

<ID number: 524489011>

"Yes, I am." I told her, handing her ID and weapon certificate back. "Usually the cashier doesn't ask for the ID and certificate," she said, making me hum, "That seems irresponsible." I told her, "Yea..." I looked around, "Well, what kind of crystal do you want? Refined, unrefined?" I asked, she looked at me and put a thinking face.

"Um– unrefined please." I nodded and took out a box with a tag saying "unrefined" and opened it, there were several crystals with different sizes inside, "What size? small, medium, large?" I asked, she looked at the box and hummed, "I'd like medium please." I nodded and took out fire and ice dust from the box and handing it to her. "That'll be 500 lien please."I said, she took out a small wallet and gave me a bunch of coins, I took them and handed her the dust she wanted.

"Is that all?" I asked, she looked at me and seemed uneasy, but nodded either way, "We have several weapon/dust catalogs and magazines if you'd like." I told her, she seemed to light up with the idea and nodded, "Yes I'd like the latest please!" she said, I crouched behind the counter and took out a weapon/dust catalog and magazine before putting them on top of the counter, "It's 50 lien for both."

She took out more money and handed it to me, I put it all in the cash machine in front of me and then handed her what she asked for, "Would you like a bag to help you carry that?" I asked, she looked at me and nodded.

As asked I handed her a plastic bag with the store logo and placed her things inside, "T-thank you." she said, making me nod, "Bye, have a nice say." I said as she left through the door.

After that costumer I had several others which came to buy dust or weapon catalogs, it was quite a productive day for me.

"Very nice new guy," said the store manager(and the old cashier), I gave him a thankful nod and he smiled, "We sold a lot today, see you Tuesday." he said, I nodded and left the store to the club.

"So did you get to know the area?" asked Junior, I nodded and walked towards the door leading to the stairs, which led to my room, Junior stopped me.

I turned around and looked at him.

"Since you'll be staying here, how about you help the club out? You'll get payed, don't worry." He asked in quite the demanding way, I looked at him and nodded, "Is there any position you would like to have?" he asked, "Bar tender." I answered immediately, I'd rather not have to clean.

"Wow, you had that one saved up didn't you?" he asked with a grin, "Fine, let me teach you how to bartend kiddo." He said, pulling me towards the bar.
