46 Part XLVI.

Dylan, Jack, Betty, Sean, Miranda, Adrian, Joe. Seven people that have affected my life in ways I never knew was possible. I've come to realise that the most unpredictable thing is life. You never know what'd happen in the next year, month, week, day, even second. Who knew I'd be able to appear and disappear by the mere touch of a strange being while I'm still alive.

The worst enemy you could ever make is your own memory. It follows you everywhere, when you're awake, when you're asleep. And it haunts you, taunts you, makes you weary of everything and drags your sanity away from you.

I'm completely confused on how I still managed to remain sane after everything, I still can't sleep and my eyes are chili red and heavy like lead but I'm fine, I'm not crazy. At least not completely.

Sighing loudly, I stand up and walk around the dark room like I've been doing since Sean left for two days. He's probably still angry about the hard truth I told him but he could fuck himself for all I care, I don't give two shits. It's 2:30am and I'm hungry. He hasn't provided anything for me to eat since then and I'm famished, the water running from the tap in the bathroom did a fair job in quenching my thirst though. If I continue this way, Sean might misplace me with a mop stick. Laughing at my comparison, my legs act before my brain and I find myself heading downstairs, taking slow and quiet steps.

This is a bad idea, it's the worst idea, but I need food. Finding my way to the kitchen, I search the wall for the light switch and flip it on quickly, releasing a sigh of relief that I wasn't caught.

Scurrying quickly to the fridge, I open it and find heaven, my stomach grumbling loudly at the sight. Although there isn't any real food and I can't cook anything so he doesn't notice, I'd have to settle for cereal. Wasting no more time, I take a pack of Cheerios, milk, a medium sized bowl and spoon and prepare a really generous amount. If it's the fear of being caught or the hunger I can't wait to ease, I don't know but I do know I finished it up faster than I've ever done in my life.

Tiptoeing back up after rinsing the bowl and leaving the kitchen in the exact same state I met it, a sound coming from that black door stops me dead in my tracks.

"No no no not again." I whisper to myself and close my eyes, trying to shut the sound from my head.

The last time this happened, he nearly killed me. I can't risk it again by going back there, he'd surely kill me this time. The groans get louder and my heart beats faster, I want to see him but I can't. I won't.

As I raise my hand to twist the door handle, I notice it looks strange, different. What? Why am I infront of Sean's door?! I'm tired of my body acting without permission, I'm inquisitive but this is too dangerous. What exactly am I going to do if I go in? Nothing. Turning back around to leave, the voice becomes a bit louder and my conscience wouldn't let me take another step further.

Fine. I'll do this. I just hope my curiosity isn't the death of me.

Just like before, the room's dark but his bed is illuminated by the dim light on his bedside table, showing clearly his suffering. I walk closer, away from the shadows and see his scared face, his eyes shut tight, lips mumbling, forehead sweating, fists tightened and body shaking.

"Please. No more. Stop. No. Please. Mercy. Please." Just like before, he pleads and my heart stops when a tear drops from his eyes. I shouldn't be here, I shouldn't be seeing this. Hurriedly, I turn around to leave when I carelessly kick something in the dark, then another thing drops followed by a loud clanging sound causing my breath to hitch in my throat. Oh no! Please don't wake up, please don't wake up. I stay rooted in my spot until the sound stops and I realise his groaning had ceased too.

What do I do? What do I do? I knew I shouldn't have come in here at all. Damn my stupid curiosity.

Quietly, I take a step forward towards the door, hoping he's still fast asleep. I can't afford for him to wake up and realise I came in here again. He mustn't.

Finally making it to the door, my relief is cut short when I twist the door handle but it refuses to open. I didn't lock it. How could--.

"You never learn." My thought is cut short by Sean's voice dangerously close behind me. So close I could feel his minty breath on my neck and his masculine scent filling my nose. Not being able to react, I stand there with my shaky hand on the door handle, my legs trembling and goosebumps all over my arm.

"I guess I'm going to have to teach you some other way." He says in a strong whisper, too close to my left ear, "a memorable way."

My heart pounds and my head processes over a billion thoughts per second, would he send me to the dungeon too? Or would he torture me?

"Tell me," he says and puts his cold lips on my neck, awakening something strange in me. There's a subtle feeling and it's definitely not fear, "what did you see?"

"Nothing." I respond, my voice tinier than expected. What the fuck is wrong with me! What is he planning to do?!

"Well," he runs his finger tips along my arm, leaving goosebumps in it's wake, "how sure can I be?."

With that, I turn around immediately with my back to the door and look up into his face. It's hard to see clearly in these shadows but I can surely tell he's smirking slightly.

"I-i d-didn't see it," I stutter shamelessly, "I promise I didn't. I had only just come when you woke up, I swear it."

"Then," he says in a husky tone, bringing his face closer to mine, "why were you in such a hurry to leave? Didn't you miss me?." Something about the way he's sounding, ticks off something strange in me and my heart beat pounds loudly.

"I do." I blurt out earning a smirk from him, his eyes looking into mine but I look away, "I mean, I didn't. I did, but I er, I wanted to check if you were er, fine and I wanted to leave but then you er-"

"I missed you too." He cuts me off with a voice so thick and husky, his full pink lips mere inches from mine, I wonder if they taste as minty as his breath.

"You wanna find out?" He asks and I look away from his lips, my face reddening immediately. Why did that thought pop in my head?! Fuck, I'm a mess right now.

"Huh?" I ask

"You were staring," he answers, "I thought you wanted to know how they taste."

"What? I wasn't um, staring." I lie through my teeth and gulp down saliva through my now dried throat.

"But you wanna know how it tastes." He says like he already knew and I lost the will to lie so I just stand there, looking into his eyes and my heart beating loudly in my ears as he comes even closer, my eyes closing immediately his lips brush mine.

"Go back to your room," his voice comes clear and louder than before causing my eyes to open instantly, "I'll see you in the morning."

With that, the door opens and I stagger backwards. He closes it back without hesitation and I stand there, looking at the door with a red face.
