Throw this rascal out of here!

How was this even possible? His head reeled from trying to comprehend what had just happened he thought he might go crazy pretty soon. Was it a scam alert? Or a mistake? Or probably a network glitch causing issues in a bank--! Or who the fuck would explain this to him?

His head was still banging from trying to suck in what Ashley had just done to him and now this. What was he supposed to do!? He inhaled and exhaled slowly, trying to calm his nerves down as he entered the coffee shop.

"Why the hell are you just coming to work now, John!?" Someone said behind him and he almost jumped.

"Mr Steels, I'm so sorry, I had a situation. It was urgent." He said, bowing slightly.

He dismissed it with a wave of his hand. "You have to be very careful!"

"Yes sir!" He said and went behind the counter to get on with his work.

His thoughts trailed to Ashley. He still couldn't believe that she had cheated on him. He had loved her so much, trying to give her the best life he could afford, even at the expense of his mental health.

Since last year, he had taken up three jobs, all for her sake. He would go from coffee shop to the company where he worked as a janitor then to the other where he worked as a delivery guy. But what did he gain? She said she was tired of his poverty-stricken life.

"Hello?" He almost jumped when he heard someone speak in from of him. He'd let his mind drift from his present environment. Great! He thought dryly. Talk about work ethics.

"Are you crazy!?" The voice brought his mind back.

He blinked rapidly. "Sorry, ma'am. I didn't hear what you said."

"Oh, really? Then I would just have to waste my precious saliva and repeat what I just said, huh!?" She yelled at him. "I stood here for over five minutes talking to you, but you weren't even answering. Do you think I have that much time to spare!?"

This woman was stepping on her boundary but he kept his cool. He let professionalism play its role. "I'm so sorry ma'am. What would you like to order?"

The woman scoffed. "You can't be serious, you fucking rascal! You wasted my time and you think an ordinary apology is going to cut it? You must be joking."

John had had enough. "Madam, you're disrupting work here and other customers would really love a quiet environment to help them collect their minds. So I'd beg you to please act rational." He told her coolly.

"Act rational!?" She placed her bag on the counter, her eyes blazing red.

"Excuse me, but do you know me? Have we had an issue before now?" He just couldn't understand why she was taking the issue as a big deal. Alright, she was talking to him and he was lost in thought. It's not like he disrespected her on purpose.

Her hands worked the counter, and she scattered the cups and other stuff there. "Are you implying that I'm crazy? I'm not acting rationally? Is this how you guys treat your customers around here!"

The woman continued yapping and seriously, all John wanted right now was for everywhere to be quiet. He had too much on his mind to deal with than something like this.

"I don't understand why you poor people always act out. Is it some poverty-deranged strategy of you guys? You guys feel inferior always, then any little opportunity you get in rendering services, you act like you're on top of the world!"

That caught his attention. Poverty deranged? She must be joking. "Ma'am, I'd rather not call the security guy to drag you out. So, just leave quietly. You don't want me to lose my cool." His voice was quiet and his face had gone cold. Yeah, he was poor. But how could she say something like that? She didn't even know him? She didn't---

"You're sending me out?" She laughed sarcastically. "So what if I refuse to leave?"

"Then I'll be forced to drag you out, ma'am. You're causing a scene and disturbing everyone's peace!"

The woman lost her cool. "You rude brat!" She raised her hand to smack his face, but he caught it and held it roughly in the air. He might be a loser as Ashley said he was. Or better still a poverty-stricken man, but he would never let anyone take him for granted.

"I warned you enough ma'am. But I'll just have to kick you out."

"What the hell is going on here!?" Mr Steel said as he came down the stairs.

"Oh! Mrs Mooney?" He walked to the woman and bowed.

She must be rich. John thought. But then, so what!? Does being rich give her an excuse to act recklessly?

Before he could open his mouth to talk, Mrs. Mooney spoke. "This riffraff here." She pointed at him. "He almost assaulted me. I only came to order coffee, he ignored me and when he would answer, started hurling all sorts of insults at me!"

John couldn't help but laugh. This woman was so shameless. Why would she even lie? What was she hoping to gain?

"What!? You are laughing? John, you're seriously laughing." Mr Steel said, staring at him in disdain. "Do you even have any idea who she is? Do you want to ruin my business? You must be out of your mind!"

Well, that was a little bit hurtful. John thought. He was the person who was wronged here, but he guessed he didn't have more of a choice than to apologize. "I'm sorry sir!" He turned to the woman. "Sorry once again, ma'am."

"Well, you should have probably done that earlier, because you're so fucking fired!"

John blinked in confusion. "I don't understand, sir!"

"Yeah, you don't, but you'll do so soon!" Mr. Steel gave him a friendly pat on the back. "Boys!?" He yelled at some burly guys seeping coffee at one corner of the room. "Throw this rascal out of here!"
