25 So cute!!
Few days went by since the first day as a recruit. During the mornings, it was kenjutsu training with Sakumo and Kakashi, later memorizing the formations and practicing them and in the evening till night it is physical training along with increasing the control on the devil fruit. This has been a routine.
Training grounds, konoha
Ryuu was sitting in a meditation pose and a blob of fire was hovering in front of him. As the time gone by the flame was being compressed further. The red flame turned into yellow shiny orb and it further gets compressed to a marble size green orb. Ryuu slowly opened his eyes and manipulated this green orb to move, it went further and hit a log. As soon as the orb hit the log, it exploded, burning away half of the log that was buried on the ground.
'Using raw flames to fully go out is much easier than creating constructs such as fireflies. I finally managed to compress the fire into a firefly, but I am much farther than Ace. He is able to create and deploy fireflies in a large area in a matter of seconds at his peak. Now that i have short range and medium range attacks i should now focus on wide range attack such as firefly. Even though i have fire ring attack which releases rings with me as a center, it is not much destructive. A skilled shinobi will be able to escape that. My fire fist attack is now as large as a full grown person and the range is 50 meters. If it is fully developed it may be much more powerful than the majestic destroyer flame jutsu used by Madara. My kenjutsu training is proceeding smoothly, but it will take atleast a few months of practice to actually use in battles.'
'Tomorrow is the first assessment after joining anbu, I have confidence to breeze through it. It is nothing but a written exam. If I manage to convince that teacher of mine, I will be able to advance on my plans much further. Time to leave.'
Ryuu got up and left the training grounds and went home. As usual, Sakumo cooked a delicious meal. The trio ate and signed off for the day.

The next morning, Anbu HQ underground.
"Today is the assessment day, the topic of assesment would be battle tactics and your understaning on utilizing the formations that you were taught during the previous classes. Turn up the sheets on your desk and start answering. You have 2 hours." Bear announced.
Ryuu turned up the sheet on his desk and read through the scenario that was given to him and came up with best tactics suitable to counter them. He wrote down all the formations that can be used and the ninjutsu that can support to clear the scenario.
The first to submit the paper was A3, followed by Kakashi, A7 and Ryuu. After submitting the answersheets they left the classroom and waited outside for the results. One by one everyone went out of the classroom, some time later, the bear called everyone inside and announced the results.
"Only 7 members passed the assessment. And 3 were exceptional. A7,A18(Kakashi),A19(Ryuu) come forward. A7 already started on her Medical specialization training from last two weeks. A18,A19 you are now permitted to start your specialization training. Do you want to proceed?" the bear asked.
"Yes sensei, I want to have training in Summoning jutsu." Kakashi said.
"I want to start my specialization in Fuinjutsu." Ryuu answered.
The bear nodded and said, "I will send an application to Hokage-sama. You have done well in your assessment, i expect the same or better performance in the future assessments as well. Okay class, you are dismissed."
Everyone left the Anbu HQ. Ryuu and Kakashi left for training. Ryuu continued to practice firefly and physical excercises. Doing this constantly is increasing his chakra reserves, which is helpful for longer training and fights.
Next day, Classroom.
"... okay that's it for today. I expect everyone to completely memorize the poison plants by tomorrow. A18,A19 follow me." the bear said as he left the classroom.
Kakashi & Ryuu followed him out.
"Change to your normal clothes and meet me at the entrance of hokage building." The bear said and disappeared.
Ryuu and Kakashi quickly went home and changed, after 15 minutes they met a tall man with brown shaggy hair with a goatee at the entrance of the Hokage's office.
"Good, you came early. Lets not keep Hokage-sama waiting." The man said and asked the boys to follow him.
Kakashi & Ryuu recognised the man to be their sensei in Anbu. They quickly followed him to the hokage's office.
As they were nearing the office, they heard some one shouting inside, "Damn you old man, I was having a nice time today and you have to summon me today? if you don't give me a good reason, I will tell your wife on you. "
"Calm down a little, you will know soon enough." Hokage said trying to calm her down.
Bear lead both the boys into the office and everyone greeted Hokage. Ryuu's eyes fell on the girl who was sitting on the sofa on the side eyes closed, clearly upset. Ryuu immediately recognized her and smiled inside.
"I was pleased with your results on your first assessment, I heard good things about you from your sensei. I called you here regarding your application on specializations." Hokage said as he smiled at the boys.
"Kakashi, you want to learn summoning. So, i am assigning your Anbu teacher for you. He is Inuzuka Hiro. He will teach you summoning." Hokage said to kakashi.
"We will continue our classes from 3-4 pm after your Anbu classes end." Hiro said looking at Kakashi.
Kakashi simply nodded and thanked Hokage.
"Ryuu, Knowing your speed of learning, I want to assign best teacher possible to you. Fuinjutsu require lots of dedication and hardwork." Hokage said to Ryuu, he turned his face to the girl sitting on sofa and said,"Kushina, meet your student. You will be teaching him Fuinjutsu"
Kushina opened her eyes slowly and met Ryuu's eyes. She stared at him for a few seconds and jumped towards him, kneeled in fromt of him to match his height, hugged him and started rubbing her cheecks with Ryuu's and squealed, "Aww, he is so cuteee!!"
