17 Neglected

"Hey Alice, how was your stay at Mark's house? Was it fun living with a bunch of boys for a change?" Rebecca asked as she took her seat next to Alice.

"News spread like a disease in this school." Alice groaned.

"Well, a bunch of our schoolmates saw you walking home together with the boys, so everyone thought of it that way." Kim grinned. "Was it fun? Did anyone confess to you? How about Mark?" she bombarded Alice with questions much to her surprise.

"What?" she nearly screeched. "We worked on a project darn it and why the fuck would you even mention Mark?" she received a flick on the forehead for that. Her friends told almost everyone that Alice should receive a flick on the forehead whenever she swears.

"Nothing, you two look cute together," they both shrugged. "Anyway, where are the guys? Why are you alone now?" Rebecca asked.

"They went to Tiffany's old school. They went there once and they've made friends with a bunch of guys." Alice answered.

"Too bad, I hope you're not lonely," Kim frowned. "You know boys, if they meet new friends they'd sometimes leave their old friends behind."

"Nah, as if something like that is going to come between our friendship."

Turns out that Alice was completely wrong. She was completely ignored for the next days. The guys would only talk to her if they were leaving to go to the other school and to tell her to keep their 'girls' busy in case they'd look for them. The same thing happened during their unit tests since it was only a half-day.

The routine kept repeating until one day, Alice couldn't stand it. She decided to secretly follow the guys at the other school. She saw them there talking happily, it made her upset since she was missing out on the fun, and they were playing with some students from a different school. Three of the guys look familiar to her.

"Tiffany's friends," Alice's eyes narrowed.

She was currently hiding behind a bush as she watched them. The school was open for visitors unlike their school that only allows authorized people to enter. "Do you even realize how ridiculous you look?" she heard someone chuckle.

She turned around and her mood immediately changed when she saw Grant. She stood up and she dusted her uniform and she faced him. "What are you doing here?" she scoffed.

Grant only gave her a lazy smile. "This is my school and those are my members you're stalking," he said as he pointed towards the students with Gerald and the others.

"I wasn't stalking anyone, I was just wondering why my friends think cutting classes are fine just to go to this damned place." Alice glared at him.

"You know you've changed a lot Alice. You used to be this sweet innocent looking girl," Grant said.

Alice only moved away from him. "Like I care Grant, it has been ages since we've seen each other. I'm leaving." Alice was about to leave but Grant took a hold of her arm and he pulled her with him.

"Let go of me you bastard!" she said as she tried to push him away, but her efforts were to no avail.

"Alice?" she stopped when she realized that Grant and she have already caused a scene to catch the other students' attention. Even her friends have noticed that she's already in school.

Grant released his grip on Alice. She immediately turned to the guys. "Let's go, you idiots. I can't believe you think cutting classes and staying here is much better than staying at school." she said.

"We're not cutting classes Alice, our subject teacher didn't attend class," Lance explained.

"That doesn't mean we're allowed to leave the school moron," Alice retorted as she crossed her arms.

"It's that girl again, what is she doing at our school? Do you know her?" One of the girls with the guys asked.

"She's... our classmate," Josh answered and the guys nodded. Alice bent down, picked up a rock, and threw it at him. Luckily, it only hit him on the arm.

"So I'm just a fucking classmate now?!" she complained. "Well then, tell them how this classmate of yours covered up for you whenever you're late for the next class. Tell them how this damned classmate kept stalling your girlfriends. Tell them how I followed you all the way here just to drag your asses back to school because our class president is planning on telling the teachers that you're all leaving the campus during class hours!"

The guys were rendered speechless of Alice's sudden outburst. "Alice, don't cause a scene here," Gerald said in a soft voice.

"Well, I'm sorry because I already caused a shitty scene!" she said furiously. "Don't even bother talking to me anymore. I'm done covering up for you idiots." she was about to leave when she heard the students around her laughing.

"My gosh, what a drama queen."

"I guess this little princess is pissed that her princes aren't there for her anymore,"

"What an embarrassment! And to think she caused a scene at our school. She needs to leave."

She turned around and she saw that it was Grant's friends who were laughing. Grant only had an arrogant smirk plastered on his face that Alice somehow wanted to punch the hell out of him. "You all have no goddamn idea on what's going on so you don't have the right to talk that way," she said as she narrowed her eyes at them.

The other students just laughed loudly at her. "Just leave Alice, don't embarrass yourself any further," Grant said.

Just when Alice was about to leave, the guys went after her. "Hey, sorry about that but you were acting rude to our new friends," Matthew explained. Alice only scoffed and ignored them.

"Hey guys, you leaving already?" one guy called after them.

"Yeah dude, we can't let her return to the school alone at this state," Mark said as he placed his arm on Alice's shoulder which she just quickly swatted away.

"What about the deal? Where's your money? You lost our bet didn't you?" Another guy added.

"Bet?" Alice asked as she turned again.

"Well your friends told us about you, we told them that you're going to come and embarrass yourself but they said you'd be too busy in your own world to even come," a girl chuckled. "I feel sorry for you, you had no idea with anythi—" Everyone gasped in surprise when the girl suddenly fell on the ground.

"Bitch," Alice scoffed as she took off her other shoe. She threw the other one towards the guys and it hit Alex on the arm. "And you're all jerks. I can't believe you'd even do something as shitty as that!" She hissed.

"I guess the joke's on me then," she sighed. "Fan-fucking-tastic you lowlife protozoans," she said one more time.

"Don't get too upset Alice, you can always come and visit me when you're lonely." Grant smirked.

In a mere flash, Alice ran towards Grant, threw herself at him, and gave him a beating. Grant managed to block her but she was able to land a punch on him which caused his lips to bleed. On the other hand, Mark was the first one to pull Alice away from him. But they were a little too late. Alice forgot one fact that Grant is a leader of a fraternity and who were they with?—his fraternity.

They immediately got surrounded by the students whom the guys came to know as their 'new friends'. "Hey guys, maybe we can all talk this out? Alice just got pissed that's all," Lance tried to explain.

"Sorry guys, our rule is that if someone hurts our leader then they're considered as public enemy number one," one guy said.

"We're really sorry, Alice didn't mean it. Go ahead and apologize Alice." Mark said as he tapped Alice. He suddenly received a jab on the ribs from Alice.

"I regret nothing you idiots, I'm just a classmate right? So don't get these boys involved. If there's one person you should all consider as an enemy, it's me." Alice smirked. "That is... if you're all smart enough to realize it,"

It all happened too quickly. Alice pushed the other guys out of the way and she fought the members of Grant's fraternity alone. They tried to stop the fight but it was too hard, everyone was pissed.

"Stop!" the students all stopped, it was Grant. "What were you guys thinking? Fighting a girl? What's more ridiculous is the fact that it's a seven on one battle." He said as he went near Alice and he pulled her up.

Alice was hurt, she had a couple of scratches and bruises all over her. Grant held her by the arm then lightly pushed her towards the guys. Mark was the one able to catch her. "Leave and don't come back. It's for your own good. Alice did have a point, sorry for this mess." He said.

They would've left already but something made all of them, including the delinquents, stop. There were teachers all over the place. "All of you! Head to the office, now!"

All of them got sent to the office, the teachers called Alice and the boys' school and their teachers immediately arrived. It was all messed up, and there was no way out. In the end, it was a mistake on Alice's part since none of it would've happened if she kept her cool.

They got sent back to their school and their parents got called. While their principal and teacher talked to their parents, they all stayed at the rooftop. There was still a tense atmosphere surrounding all of them.

They all looked at Alice who was just seated on the floor and she was still looking as pissed as ever. "What the fuck are you looking at?" she hissed.

"You're hurt," Gerald pointed out.

Alice smiled and clapped mockingly. "Yay, that's the first thing that you got right today," she said.

"Hey, we're sorry. We know we were a bunch of jerks." Alex began.

"Assholes," Alice corrected which caused them to fall silent again. "Since I'm probably going to get expelled or whatever, let's just have one last talk. I only did that for you guys. I didn't want you all to get in trouble, but I didn't know that things would end up this way if I went there," she sighed. "I guess I'm just jealous." She looked at them and she forced out a smile. "It just hurts in my part that you didn't even acknowledge me as a friend. Are you really that happy with your new friends? Well look at what happened now, they turned their backs on you when I punched their frickin' leader."

The guys didn't even bother to make a response because no matter what they do or say, Alice is so damn right.
