18 Apologies

Minutes of dead silence passed by and no one still dared to talk. Alice was quiet and so were the rest. They all knew that no apology would work on Alice right now. They ditched her and they even had a bet about her right behind her back. Worst of all was that they denied her to their new-friends-who-are-no-longer-their-friends-after-what-happened.

"You know Alice, we only said that you were a classmate because we didn't want you to find out about the bet," Josh finally broke the silence.

"Well thank you, that made me feel better." she replied sarcastically.

"Can you stop acting like that? All of us just want to apologize to you, that's about it," Lance sighed in disbelief.

Alice only narrowed her eyes at them. "It would've been so much easier to accept it if you didn't have a bet behind my back, denied me to your so-called friends, ditched me to stall your girlfriends, and practically ignored me for almost two weeks."

"You're being too difficult," Mark groaned.

"Well sorry then," she raised her arms in defeat. "I'm sorry if I only said what I had to say to you and your new friends. I'm sorry if I acted all tough when in the end, I'm the one who got beaten up."

"You didn't have to fight them and you shouldn't have pushed us out of the way. We could've helped you," Alex said guiltily.

"I only pushed you guys out of the way so that you won't get involved. To sum it all up, I was the one who started the fight and all you guys ever did was just meet new friends. I guess I just really felt left out that you didn't even bother to invite me once." she explained.

"On the bright side, you won't get a big punishment like me." she added.

The door to the rooftop opened and they all saw Alice's parents. Alice stood up and she slowly approached them. "Young lady, we have a lot to talk about," her mother said.

Alice's father then eyed them, much to their surprise. "You know I really want to give all of you a beating because you really did deserve it but I know my daughter won't let me. Alice is suspended for a week. It really isn't a big deal but the whole reason why she did get suspended is just pathetic," they froze at her father's words.

"Let's go Alice," her mother said as they left.

"Alice's dad is just like her. They're both tough and right about the whole damn situation." Vincent said.

"We have to make up to Alice," Gerald told them and they nodded in agreement.

Turns out that the guys got a three-day suspension. On the first day, they all worked together to look for Alice's house. When they did, they left a letter of apology and a box of Alice's favorite donuts on the doorway, which Alice grumpily took by the way.

On the second day, they sent seven different flavors of her favorite bubble tea brand. As they watched from afar, they did see that it made Alice smile but when she saw their names written on each of the bubble tea, it disappeared but she still took the bubble teas nonetheless.

Now it was the third and final day of their suspension. It was their last chance of apologizing to her, they all headed to Alice's house and knocked on the door. Gerald kept ringing the doorbell like there was no tomorrow.

"Seriously is it your first time to use a damn doorbe—" Alice stopped upon seeing them. Her eyebrows knitted and she slammed the door shut.

Good thing Alex was fast enough to grab the doorknob and push it so that they were able to enter Alice's house. From the looks of it, she's alone. "What the fuck do you clowns want? You're not welcome here." She hissed.

"Alice, we want to make-up with you. That's about it," Matthew said.

Alice rolled her eyes. "And you all think that a bunch of donuts and bubble teas would make me accept your apology? Think idiots, you're practically bribing me," she said.

"If you think it is bribery then you should've returned the food we sent. It cost a lot you know." Josh grumbled.

"I know it cost a lot, that's why I took it. Heck, I think I finished four bubble teas yesterday." she narrated.

"So is it apology accepted?" Mark asked uneasily.

"I guess you could say that," Alice nodded. "I just needed to cool off I guess, being grounded for the past two days made me realize all the stupid things I did. Sorry for going on full bitch mode on you guys." She said.

Much to Alice's surprise the guys all ran towards her and sandwiched her in a group hug. "Don't touch me, idiots! Do you have a death wish from my father?!" She groaned.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to resist us!" Gerald said happily.

"We're sorry Aliceeee!" the guys cried out.

Alice giggled as she squeezed her way out of them. "Okay, okay, now come and head to the living room. I still have about seven donuts left." she grinned.

"Awesome!" Matthew cheered as they followed Alice towards their living room.

They all watched a movie together and Alice took some snacks from their fridge. "Mom and dad actually said that I should accept the apology right after they saw the donuts," Alice chuckled.

"You should've! The bubble teas are expensive!" Vincent complained.

"I know you guys know me enough. So I knew that bubble was coming up next, and by the way. Hiding at our neighbor's garden is pretty obvious, that's why I pretended to get mad every time I took these gifts," she giggled.

The guys stared at her in disbelief but they just shrugged it off anyways. "I guess that's enough to make us pay for the whole encounter with that frat I guess," Alex stated.

"By the way Alice, you seem to know one of them. The leader I think?" Matthew asked.

"Nice observation, I know Grant and some other two dudes there. They're the ones I fought with because they're all friends with Tiffany. Also, Grant is like a childhood friend of mine," Alice shrugged.

"Childhood friend?" the guys asked curiously as they munched on the snacks.

"Back then I'd always go to the office with my mom and dad, Grant is a son of their colleagues so I'd often play with him. We just met each other again now, and we're already at each other's bad sides." Alice explained.

"I don't like the sound of that Grant," Mark grumbled.

"You're just jealous because he's a childhood friend," Alex teased. Good thing Alice didn't hear any of it.

"Anyway, I've got something interesting to show you," Alice said as she took her laptop and showed it to them.

Everyone nearly fell off their seats when they saw the screen. They were practically gawking at it. On the screen was Alice's Facebook account and there were so many friend requests, messages, and notifications.

"I guess everyone found out about my fight at the other school huh?" She grinned as she showed them her timeline.

It was filled with pictures of what happened during that day and there were videos too that the students around the school took while they were way too busy. The bigger surprise was the fact that there was no bashing happening on Alice's account, there were posts saying that they admire Alice for being a tough, cool, and awesome girl.

"It seems that a lot of people like what I did. Seriously, I think it's ridiculous." She said as she shook her head.

"That's because you really did look cool while fighting them. I've gotta admit, I think you looked like a hot mess when I saw you with those bruises." Josh said.

Everyone threw him dirty looks. "Keep your thoughts to yourself Josh," Alice seethed.

"You make me sick," Mark hissed.

Josh only grinned goofily at them "Don't worry, my girlfriend is hotter." He shrugged.

"Anyway," Alice coughed to get rid of all the awkwardness. "Here's the biggest surprise," she opened the messages.

They saw that Grant had sent her several messages. They all had matching jaw drops with the stuff they read.

------

Hey Alice

Sorry about what happened. :(

Wanna meet up with me sometimes?

I missed playing with you

------

There were plenty more. "Why is he sending me stuff like this all of a sudden? Does he think that I want to be friends with him?" She rolled her eyes as she pointed out Grant's profile picture. "And seriously, he made my picture his DP. Does he think he'll win me over with that? Sheesh," she shook her head.

The guys all thought of two things. One, Grant likes Alice and two, Alice is too dumb to realize it. On the other hand, Mark thought of three things, the first two mentioned and that he's going to kill Grant if he sees him.

"But I might think about it, Grant did stop the fight back then. I think I owe him for that," Alice smiled.

The guys immediately looked at Mark who seemed to be mentally adding Grant's name to his To-kill list.
