6 Chapter 6

Two days passed in a flash since nothing interesting happened.

Aster: Tomorrow is the entrance exam for the UA. I should take a break. I have to do something to be more relaxed around women. I mean I can't be this handsome and be bad with the ladies.

So I put my plan in to action.

Aster: Try to pick up a girl at the mall!!

Ordis: Operator, I'll be rooting for you!

Ordis chimed. After walking for some time, I entered a huge mall. Looking around for girls of my age I was surprised to see a familiar face in front of a music store. She has a slender body, short dark purple hair and from her earlobes extended two skin coloured earphone jacks. As I approached I also noticed a set of clothes floating next to her.

"Kyoka Jiro has been found and the person next to her should be Toru Hagakure. Wow, she has some nice curves, kinda sad that she's invisible"

Aster: Excuse me!

I talked, grabbing their attention and they turn to look at me.

Aster: Hi, I'm Aster! I'm new here and I'm kinda lost. Is it possible to show me the way to the cafe?

Kyoka: I guess we can, right Toru?

She answered kinda lazily.

Toru: Umu! Of course we can, don't worry about it!

Toru said full of energy while raising her hand high.

As we walked, my head kinda started spinning not knowing what to say but then, inspiration hit me.

Aster: Do you girls play any music instrument? I saw you looking at that store.

Toru: Yeah! We came to check some strings for Kyoka's bass!

Kyoka: I don't play much but I am interested in music.

Aster: That sounds amazing! I wanted to learn play the guitar but I'm not that good.

It seems she was about to say something but we reached the cafe.

Toru: Tada! We have arrived to our destination!

I chuckled a bit at her joke.

Aster: If it's not too much please stay and allow me to buy you coffee as thanks for showing me the way.

Kyoka: It's ok we didn't do that much.

Toru: Of course we'll stay!

Kyoka turned and gave Toru a strange look but all she saw in return was the girl's sleeves moving a bit.

Kyoka then smiled for a bit

Kyoka: Alright, I don't see why not.

Toru: Yay!

Toru said and jumped happily.

Toru led us to a table and we ordered. They sat at one side, I sat at the other.

Aster: Thanks again for your help! Let me introduce myself properly, my name is Aster Phoenix it's nice to meet you.

I raised my hand in their direction for a handshake.

Kyoka: I'm Kyoka Jiro.

She shook my hand.

Tory: I'm Toru Hagakure! It's very nice to meet you!

I felt her hand shaking mine.

"Very energetic indeed!"

Toru: What brings you to the city Aster?

Aster: I'm taking the entrance exam for UA.

Toru: No way! Really? We're also taking the entrance exam!

Aster: For real? That's cool! Maybe we will be in the same class.

Kyoka: It would be nice if we have people we know as classmates but first we have to pass the exam.

"The voice of reason! Can't blame her though, she doesn't have the knowledge that I do"

Aster: I'm certain that we'll pass and everything will end up nicely. Right?

I turn towards Toru as I said the last part.

Toru: You got that right Aster!

She seems really cheerful for some reason.

We kept talking about different things. What we liked, disliked etc. Toru and I laughed and joked around but Kyoka doesn't seem to want to open up that much. At some point Toru asked me.

Toru: So Aster, what's your quirk? I don't see any sort of physical indication.

Kyoka also seemed to be interested in the answer as I see her earphone jacks swing like a cat's tail.

Aster: Ah you see, it's very interesting, it's...

I pause to build tension.

Toru seems to lean forward if her clothes are any indication.

Aster: ...a surprise!

Toru almost fell from her seat but Kyoka started laughing. It was actually the first time I saw her laugh. It seems something has been bothering her.

I turned to Toru and gave her a playful smile then looked to Kyoka.

Aster: You should laugh more, it's cute!

Kyoka stopped laughing and blushed.

Kyoka: Wh-what are you saying all of a sudden?

Aster: Just the truth though.

I said matter of factly and winked at Toru, who then started laughing.

Kyoka blushed even more at that.

Kyoka: You two!! I-

She stopped herself from continuing and I spoke.

Aster: You got to relax more, you're anxious about the exams right? Don't worry, you'll do fine.

After that we kept talking and Kyoka participated more than before. We had so much fun that we didn't notice the time passing and it got late.

It was time to leave but we exchanged phone numbers. Toru's dad came to pick them up with a car and they went to the exit. I turned around and stood there to think if I should get something from the restaurant as dinner. But a thought came to mind.

Aster: Man, Kyoka is cute but Toru is even more so. Even if she's invisible.

What I didn't know was that Toru was right behind me when I said that.

Toru: E-excuse me.

Toru said uncharacteristically with a low voice as I froze on the spot.

"Shit! She must have heard me! Uuuugh how embarrassing!"

I turn around and look at her.

Aster: D-do you n-need something?

Toru: My dad told me to ask you if you need a lift since it's pretty late.

"Aahh dad! It's all your fault!"

Calming down I answered.

Aster: Thank you very much but it's ok, I enjoy a night walk and my home is not that far from here.

Toru: Alright, I will see you tomorrow then!

Aster: Yes, I'll see you tomorrow. Goodnight!

Ordis: So, is this the operation "picking up a girl at the mall"?

Aster: Shut up Ordis!
