4 Sis

The bathroom door swung open, steam flowed out of it as it revealed a shining orange light that flickered off, she made her way out the bathroom in silence. A pure white towel wrapped around her body tight as she trudged to her room. Once she made it to her room, she let the towel drop onto the carpet-covered floor, she strolled nakedly to her drawers, opening them. Her eyes searched for undergarments; picking things out as she flowed along with the time of getting dressed, she wore her casual. She strolled towards her towel and picked it up, making a gesture of putting it on her head and wrestling it with her hair. Proceeding to do this in peace, she heard a knock at the front door.

"I wonder who that can be?" Charlie grumbled out while making her way to the front door, leaving the towel sitting on her head. The knocking came once more but harder, it felt like the police was at the door. The thought about the police standing at the door made her roll her eyes. Swinging the door open, there stood a woman who was taller than Charlie by five inches, seven inches if counting the two more inches in heels. Her brown eyes were the same as Charlies', but lighter. Her features were more fuller in a way more as they were somehow soft and bubbly.

"You need to answer your fucking phone sometimes!" She screeched in Charlie's face as if they were the only two who lived inside the apartment building. Shoving Charlie aside, the female invited herself in, her heels clicked against the old squeaky wooden floor as her steps became steady. Her hands were on her fuller hips, she stopped in one place as her eyes observed the layout of the living room and the kitchen. The slam of the front door and Charlie's grumbling finally made the younger taller woman respond demandly," You're an adult not a child, Lee. Use your words."

It's been ages since she heard her nickname and even when it was ages, it still never made sense to her. Her name was a nickname, Charlie Summer Notes, why add another nickname? Why add more questions and no answers? Charlie rolled her eyes to the demand as she finally opened her mouth, beginning to respond, but only stopping herself. She knew well that if she spoke now, she'll never hear the end of it.

"Well are you going to speak to me and give me a hug like normal sisters do?"

Charlie scoffed while removing herself from her spot by the door and making her way towards her sofa. Plopping herself down, she let out an unsatisfied exhale, this would cause an eye roll from her sister. Charlie thought of what her sister said and scoffed once more. Her and her sister were beyond normal, and the normal today would be the protesters on the news.

"I just thought you would be more happy to see me." Her sister said with a huff.

"When am I ever happy to see you?" No response was said between the two sisters, the tension began to build as one sister was irritated by the other. One had her eyes on the television screen, the other had her eyes to the side as if she didn't know what to say and accepted the fact that her sister was right. Their relationship and bond was destroyed, both their lives were shit; one was living in an old diminishing apartment building with others who were struggling to keep their life together, and the other sister...she was surprisingly rich. They both lived in two different worlds, universes that couldn't collide correctly without a war breaking out between the two.

"How are you?"

"Fine."

"I see you have a new pla-"

"Why are you here?" Charlie cut to the chase, she didn't have the time nor the care to actually have a "nice" conversation with her sister. It was always like this, no one knows what to say nor know how to talk so "nicely", it runs in the family. She heard her sister let out a sigh as she continued to watch the television in silence. "I just needed-"

"Needed?" Charlie interrupted.

"Just stop interrupting me!" Her sister shrieked.

"Why should I fucking stop interrupting you?" Charlie's eyes now snapped towards her sister, her dark black eyes now forming into angry slits, "You the one who came into my apartment like you pay the damn rent around here," she jumped off the couch, she stood tall as she could, staring at her sister now irritated more with her presence of popping up out of nowhere. It's been about a year since Charlie has seen her sister, she hated when she popped up out of nowhere then becoming bossy and trying to act sisterly all of the sudden.

"So why should I give you the time to talk?" Charlie was now crossing her arms as her head tilted to the side, her foot tapping as she impatiently waited for her sister's response, but instead she got a dreadful silence. "What do you want, Vivan?" Charlie gritted as the silence was now killing her, the only reason why her sister would come was to check on her which was every two weeks, but like said it has been a year.

"Can I just see you? Just this once? We are sisters!" Vivian declared as Charlie could tell that she was hiding something from her and trying to change the subject, but Charlie wasn't having it, she scorned at the fact that she even said that. "The last time you came, you stole money from me and claimed you didn't want me to buy any alcohol, you bastard," Charlie huffed out a forced laugh as she threw up her arms, she was becoming more angry by the second, "Now you wanna claim that we're sisters and act like you really wan-"

"I kinda sold you out to some rich guy!" Her sister confessed.
