2 Chapter 2

In my first day in the dungeon, after being lectured like hell by my Guild Adviser Hachiman Hikigaya for a week-straight, I entered the dungeon. I was obviously studious as this information was obviously important.

I also would like to note that I did not wear my cloak into the dungeon. After all, it's harder to fight with it as it gets in the way.

Not wearing armor either but it seems like no one noticed that…

Anyway, onto the topic. So I arrived at the first floor along with a supervising Emma Flores whom is willing to jump in if I find anything too strong for me to handle.

It's only the first few floors so I should be able to clear this easily…

"Remember, Link, slow and steady wins the race." She reminded me as she didn't want me to rush in recklessly "I've just been an adventurer for 2 months and I already have D Rank stats so you should be able to achieve the same at the same pace."

I nodded; I totally planned to throw myself in dangerous situations to powerlevel quicker.

Walking down the corridors I took notice of my surroundings. The first floor - and according to Emma fourth floor - have light-blue walls and it's quite the large area. This is called the beginning road as there are only simple monsters here: goblins and kobolds.

Goblins are small green humanoid creatures which look ugly due to their unshaven teeth.

Kobolds are furry humanoid average-sized creatures that attack with their claws and dive in to attack. Their fur didn't even fully cover their body…

My first encounter was with the both of them.

Easy to see, with just a single swing of the sword to both of them I killed them as their heads flew.

"Eh? One swing!" Emma who was exploring dropped her mouth in surprise. I raised my eyebrow. They were predictable as fuck that even a novice with the sword could be able to take them out.

She looked happy a moment later "I guess we can go in further?" She murmured as we both ventured onwards.

From what I realised as we went deeper to the fourth floor (and also collected the magic stones to trade in for Valis later) is that the lower the floor the stronger they are even if they're the same species as we go lower they become physically stronger and become just the slightest more intelligent as they begin to form packs and use tactics.

Emma wanted to step in when it was a 1v10 but got a complicated look after I signalled her to stop.

I unsheathed my sword from my back and when they dashed towards me I cleaved their heads off with the Passive Spin in my attacks.

More stones for me!

"I think we should stop today." Emma advised and I nodded.

It's getting hard to store all these away… I need a bag of holding.

Anyway, that was easy.

"Eh? Already!" Emma exclaimed as she saw my stats that were updated.

STR: G 270

VIT: H 172

DEX: G 289

AGI: G 270

In total Falna: 1,001

Now that may not seem like much but if you compare Emma's stats which are more like:

STR: E 482

VIT: E 466

DEX: D 558

AGI: D 527

In total Falna: 2,033

Then you might realise that after a single day I have gotten half of what Emma has when she spent 2 months training. Of course, we had gotten nothing for MAG.

"I thought Emma was faster than the normal adventurer… but her starter growth period ended around F and it took her a month to reach D." Deity Dia muttered as she then smiled and patted me on the head "Good work." She then patted Emma on the head "Good work too."

Ugh, I don't think I like headpats… it's too warm. People in my backwater village liked to do it too, but that doesn't mean I like it.

I nodded towards her.

Deity Dia nodded and then tapped her chin "How about we head to a café to celebrate?"

I liked cafés over taverns so I nodded whilst Emma pouted. Guess she wanted the tavern. Can't see why, there's only rowdy people there.

On the way there were minor discrepancies like thieves whom I knocked out with a spin kick, or a lost pet which I sniffed out and used my pointy ears to find or even someone dropping their wallet causing me to hand it back to them.

We were soon in a café and I noticed something. The gender disparity is notable… I'm the only guy in… Café LeBlanc I'm pretty sure it's called.

Oh well, I'll just stick to myself and my group.

Deity Dia ordered herbal tea and mint cake.

Emma ordered a sweet tea and strawberry cake.

I ordered hot chocolate and chocolate cake. I miss chocolate so when it arrived I took a delicate time savouring it.

During this peaceful time, Deity Dia alerted me of something.

"By the way, I hope you take care of Emma. Her sense of direction is absolutely atrocious." Damn, hard words.

Emma choked on her drink "W-why are you telling him that?"

She tilted her head "Hmm, isn't it true?"

Emma flushed "But what if it drives him away?"

Dia waved her concern away "Oh please, I doubt that would happen; he's not the type of person to do that."

Emma frowned "But what if he is?"

I'm right in front of them, calmly sipping tea and ignoring the fervent stares of other customers towards me. Damn, Link is such a pretty-boy…

She frowned "Emma, remember all the events that occurred on our way to here and calmly tell me what you think."

Emma took a moment then sighed "I guess he's not." She then turned towards me and apologised with a bow "Sorry, for not trusting you."

I nodded and patted her head. "Reasonable." They've only met me for a little over a week. I would be hard-pressed too, and the main reason why I trust them is that I doubt they want me dead.

Emma's eyes sparkled "Link… You're such a good guy…!"

Dia chopped her head before she did anything embarrassingly dramatic.
