1 Chapter 1

A figure arrived in front of the tall - almost herculean - gates of a large city surrounded by walls and circled around a tall spire seemingly piercing the heavens.

He wore a blue tunic over a light-white long-sleeved shirt. He wore beige trousers and leather boots and fingerless leather gloves moved to pull down a green hood masquerading his face from the world.

Handsome, cute, pretty; he was androgynous and his long-ears had blue earrings on each ear. Mementos from the backwater village that raised him.

His expression was neutral but his sea-blue eyes seemed to be perpetually calm. Long-blond hair tied into a small pony-tail behind him with bangs falling past his face and sides. He had a standard ruddy long-sword attached to a sheath behind his back.

He sighed; or rather I sighed.

Who was this? It was me! Link! Or Albert Edel.

Yes, a reincarnated human in Danmachi as an expy of the protag of the Legend Of Zelda series.

I sighed and walked into Orario. What was I here for?

Obviously money.

I have no archnemesis in this world and I'm pretty sure I have no Zelda to save, hence all I gotta do is live — and in order to do that I need money. So seeing that I have an instinctual ability to use swords, bows and shields I obviously picked to go to the dungeon city for money.

Now ima be honest, I remember jack-shit from Danmachi series other than the main character has white hair, red eyes, somewhat of a pussy who ignores the pussy around and has an obsessive Goddess - make that two actually - hungry for his junior member.

Now my knowledge on Legend Of Zelda? Even worse, I played Twilight a few years back and never did anything else.

Why am I monologuing? Well, other than pre-occupying my mind of exposition to anyone listening in; I also need to do something to remedy my urges to search every barrel and place in people's homes as I wander the clean streets of Orario for the Guild.

Oh my God, I'm a worse hoarder than my previous self. It got even worse when I reincarnated as Link damn it!

Luckily my passive face lacks any sort of clear emotion.

Eventually I reached the Guild and signed up to register.

"Are you in a Familia? If so then would you like to see a list of Familias?" A random Guild-clerk asked me. Black hair, dead-fish eyes and an ahoge. Isn't this…? His eyes slightly widened too but he remained calm nonetheless.

I asked him to give me a list of new Familias and found one that I liked.

Dia Familia. Literally started two months ago with the Captain being a female named Emma Flores.

I was pointed to their location and so I left. Taking a deep sigh, I nulled my kleptomaniac desires and walked towards my destination.

A shabby hut near the cemetery. That's surprising, bodies usually can't be recovered because the dungeon noms on it. At least the cemetery was properly taken care of and had greenery all round…

I knocked on the door and I heard footsteps.

"Hello?" The door opened and I came face to face with… not small but more like 'in between medium and above short'. I was around 156cm. She was around 142cm.

In terms of womanly features she was quite petite but had more assets in her thigh and bottom department. She had long black hair that reached her belly-button (which was visible due to her green dress stopping above her belly-button) and continuing in a green dress below her waist and has a slit open on the right-side of her thigh which makes her white thigh-sock visible along with her sandals. One of her emerald eyes was covered by her glossy bangs and the hair near her sides stopped at her chin.

She stared at me and I stared back. Ugh, social anxiety still doesn't die in either life…

"Join, Familia." Shit, I only said two words. Fuck. Then again, the backwater village I was born in was a tight-nit community and it took me my whole 16 years to say paragraphs to them and gain the same social enthusiasm I had around groups I could trust in my past life.

She looked at me for a moment and then nodded with a slight graceful smile. "Come in."

I did as she said and looked around. There were a few mahogany drawers, a few green couches and two beds with little space in terms of overall space in the hut.

"Please take your shirt off." She asked kindly after we both sat down and so I did so.

A few moments later and her copying and pasting my status…

All in all, it wasn't bad. A skill is rare and starting off with one is even rarer. The fact that my skill gives two combat related buffs is even better.

Also… "Mario…" I never knew my second name since I was an orphan. Passing-by elves who stopped at the backwater village I was raised in usually stated that I felt like an elf but a human as well. I didn't feel like a half-elf but more like three-fourths elf and one-fourth human.

"Ah? Did you not know?" She asked to which I shook my head. It was nice to know. "Then congratulations."

"Are you prepared to go to the dungeon?" She asked after a few moments of awkward silence. I nodded. "Do you have a Guild Adviser to help you?" I nodded "Do you have any combat training or survival training?" I nodded to which she frowned "Your skill doesn't count as combat training."

I frowned, I had combat training! Well, more like my dreams consist of soloing various iterations of Link and getting my ass whooped. Even the chibi versions.

Especially the chibi versions.

It also made me discover that there's a high probability that I'm a genuine reincarnation of Link as there are a LOT of iterations of Link in my dreams and my life as Albert Edel was probably a one-off. Wouldn't be surprised if my soul fell off the incarnation cycle after permanently killing our archnemesis.

She sighed, "Fine, as long as you take care of yourself and listen to Emma I'm fine with you." She then got off the "I'm going to go cook; if you have anything to do then feel free." She walked outside the hut and started a fire to cook food. Huh, neat. She's even using spices with such efficiency.

I sighed and so I unsheathed my sword and started practicing swings a decent distance away from the hut. Still visible to Deity Dia but far away enough my intense training wouldn't get in the way.

After a light warm-up I decided to finally do my proper training.

I closed my eyes as I sheathed my sword. I visualized an opponent in front of me — an iteration of Link to pass on their skills through combat.

The iteration of me in front of me when I opened my eyes was someone who looked similar to me. Difference is that he had a green floppy hat and green tunic.

If I remember correctly, this is the first iteration of Link. He wasn't the weakest and he wasn't the strongest - although he was definitely up there - he was a version who trained in a knight-academy.

I sighed and unsheathed my sword at the same time as him.

We glared at each other and his Triforce Of Courage glowed on his right hand as it did on mine.

We both dashed towards each other.

Diagonal slash. Counter. Horizontal slash. Avoid. Spin kick. Dodge.

I was on the defensive for quite some time… I needed to turn the tables.

I picked spin-kicked him horizontally which pushed him back and I channelled the Spin in me. All the Links I fought had a fighting style and while I can emulate them with ease — it would be prudent to create my own style. Hence my Spin Style; ready to evade, ready to dodge, but also ready to magnify weight and redirect it back as well as increase even basic moves through Half-Spins like a Horizontal Sword Spin where I don't fully spin around but out enough force to cut all those in front of me as if I was planning to.

Once he was stunned I went for the killing blow.

A move which is passively integrated into my Swordsmanship but when actively done is fierce as a fighting style. Diagonal Spin Slash. I thrust my Rusty Longsword a comfortable distance behind my shoulder and swing down with an irrefutable spin.

I swing down my sword and the other Link has a clear cut on his green clothes. I breathed heavily as I sheathed my sword. He did the same as his Triforce glowed on his forehand and promptly disappeared.

I sighed heavily as sweat poured down my face. That was more intensive than usual and it lasted a couple hours props.

Eventually I heard clapping hence I turned my eyes to the ones clapping as there were two sets of clapping resonating in this lush forest.

One of two people clapping was Deity Dia.

The other was a girl with cheek-length pink-hair almost similar to almond or milk-chocolate in colour. Her side-bangs were tied with silver cylinders and her eyes were the same pink-almond-chocolate as her hair - if only a tad darker. She wore a dark-red corset and a pink top-like dress that reached half of her thighs (which led parts of her shoulder visible) with a ribbon on the centre of her expanding chest, a red skirt that also only reached her half of her thighs, pinkish-leather shoes along with dual blades sheathed behind her waist as well as a necklace with a blue diamond on her neck.

I walked towards her and nodded "Link Mario." I held my hand out for a handshake which she took.

She smiled cheerfully "Emma Flores; I'm your captain!"

Thank God I'm not the Captain… I have absolutely no Leadership skills. Or social skills. Or communication skills. I feel kinda sad now.

We had small talk and eventually we ate inside to consume dinner.
