“Come on, Robin. You know.”

“Not my era.” Robin took the towel from Hendrix and tossed it to the side. “But I was teasing. I’m familiar with the song.” He led him toward the couch, just half a step back. “There is a theory, you know, that the early and middle stages of sexual arousal trump every other signal and response in the human brain, from fear to common sense.”

“I subscribe to that theory, and have been grateful for it at times.”

Robin smiled then. It wasn’t just his libido that was taking over his emotions; it was Hendrix’s dimples and the mischievous glint in his eyes. “Unfortunately, that takeover doesn’t always last into the final stage.”

“No.”
