3 Chapter 3 Escape

Natasha paled and turned her head behind and found a knight wearing black armor which already swinging his sword in the rotation in the middle of the circle. Natasha battle training kicked in and she pulled her sword in front of her chest to block. However, others not lucky enough to react and were slashed.

The swing was too strong that it blows the outer layer soldiers while killing the one close the inner layer, this of course including the Princess that they tried to protect. Her body literary flung out as blood poured out from her chest. Princess Karin was thrown 10 km and hit the tree and she coughed out blood. "That was two." The knight voice sounded so grim.

"Princess Karin!! You b***tard!!" Natasha shouted in anger and rushed to kill the knight. But her attack was easily blocked by him.

"Looks like that necklace really a miracle. Her injury is recovering." In the middle of blocking the attack of Natasha, the dark knight observed the Princess condition with a surprised voice. "I wonder are the rumors are true?" His eyes behind the armor glimmered as he suddenly made a gesture with his hand.

Natasha who is concentrated to attack the dark knight noticed a numerous shadow jumped from the trees and rushed to the Princess. Natasha gritted her teeth and rushed to stop them, only to be blocked by the dark knight attack. She cannot make it!

As the shadow sharp daggers were aiming at the terrified Princess, the group of injured soldiers jumped and killed few of the attacker, while some of them were pierced and decided to hold the attacker by they own bodies to die together.

Unfortunately, two shadows dashed past the last defense and swung their dagger at the Princess throat and heart. The Princess who was scared wasn't able to move and closes her eyes in panic. Seeing her expression, the attacked expression turned wild and their hand became faster.

However, their dagger was stopped before the tip touched her skin and they were hit by an invisible force. They felt like their body was hit by a hammer and coughed blood. Then the air around the barrier twisted into a ball of light and rushed forward at a fast speed. Aiming at the Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight who was dumbfounded like the rest of the people was taken by surprise. The ball of light hit the chest of the Dark Knight and send him flying. Natasha wakes up from her stupor and rushed to the Princess side just as the dark knight was hit.

"Princess please keep your consciousness!! We should leave this place!" Natasha then pulled out a ball from her pocket and pulled the string on it with her teeth before throwing it into the sky. The ball then exploded as the flame rushed to the sky. It was a flare.

*Cough* "I was taken by surprise. I don't think that the mana barrier could turn into mana blast and hurt me this much." A hollow voice appeared and the Dark Knight walked out from the forest with his armor badly damaged. All of them shivered when a dark aura emitted from the gap of the broken armor, it's looks so evil!

"Paul, take Princess Karin away! I would stay and buy you people time, run as fast as you can now!" Natasha stepped up and prepared her stance. Without much choice, Paul carried the half awake Princess Karin in a princess carry and run alongside the surviving soldiers deep into the dark forest. However before they run too far, the Princess speaks in a hoarse voice, "B-bring along Artuin… With us…" before she collapsed. The others stopped in track and turned toward Paul.

Paul was shocked as he doesn't know what to do! He was not the good knight who can think as fast as Arslan or Berthold who have a good leadership and can make a decision. But neither Arslan can think fast enough to survive the first siege or Berthold who was the guardian of the Fort they are after, is here. Paul doesn't know what to do! Commander Natasha ordered them to escape, but the Princess want them to take Artuin with them. Paul doesn't know what to do!

Why does Paul need to be mentioned three times? It's because Arslan said that something important should be said three times! Shaking his head Paul started to remember 'You aren't the clever one on the whole team, but that doesn't mean that you can't think. Actually, it said that people like you can use your brain in the critical moment because unlike the brain-type people that would actually confuse by their intelligence and ignored the simple solution, a people like you can do the thing that they not able to predict.'

The smile of the Princess in his mind overlapped with the girl who was laying in his arm with sweat covered her face, a bloodstain dirtied her beautiful dress but he can see that her injury already recovered.

Without everyone known, the Brain Muscle-Paul slowly changed on that night. His confused eyes started to calm down. He turned toward the soldiers beside him, shocked the others because of the sudden change of aura from Paul. Actually, all of them are close to this unique Knight better than the other Knights because of the simple-minded of Paul was fun.

However, in this night, they are shocked because they see a trace of light inside Paul's eyes.

"Mark, Ell, Donu you three move towards our horse and release Artuin and meet us at the road near the junction of the fort after you wait for a chance. Don't carelessly walk in the forest, it's too dark, go to the road. The rest of you follow me!"

The surviving soldiers who were at first were worried if this simple-minded Knight could lead them, suddenly nodded their head after hearing his order. They split into two group. One to escape and the other was planning to release the favorite horse of the Princess and wait. Before they run far, Paul glanced back and saw Natasha having a super duel with the terrifying dark knight. He can see that Natasha currently can follow up the enemy movement, sighed in relief. "Please be safe, Commander." Muttered under his breath, Paul escaped.
