16 Chapter 16 Hidden under the Bed

Odelle currently feels really scared. When she started to search for the Princess, she was found out looking around by Natasha in the first floor. With Natasha's cold gaze upon her, it sends a shiver down her spine. She manages to excuse herself, but it wouldn't take too much time before Natasha found that the Princess was missing.

Holding the long maid skirt with both hands, she runs along the hallway while holding her urges to shout the Princess name, or else Natasha would notice it.

Meanwhile, unknown of Odelle distress, Princess Karin who was hiding inside Mary's room currently looking around for magic books, but looking at the whole collection in this room, Princess Karin still shocked.

"This is her temporary residence, right? How could she put all of it here? Or she just doesn't have much space in the room of her home that she decides to bring it here?" Princess Karin smiled and cannot help but had a sudden imagination of Mary winked at her while holding a stack of book on her arms.

She shook her imagination and then focused to search the book that interests her. It was glad that the bookshelf wasn't that high. Before long, one of the book titles takes her attention. This book looks different than the others. Its cover was darker and some of it was like gold.

Her hand unconsciously pulled the book and she found that the cover was made of Winged Sheepskin which is known to preserve stack of papers for a long time. Her eyes then fell on the big title in the middle of the book cover.

"History of the World: Darkness Hours?" She tilted her head in confusion before a realization dawned on her. She believes her history teacher once mentioned something like this, but she almost cannot remember about it. Her memory was a bit hazy.

She stared at it for a moment and then shifted her eyes. 'I'm not here for history.' She thought as she placed it back, then started to search again.

However, in a few minutes, she noticed something about all these books. "…There is no other book about magic… There is a book about the history of magic though, but all of it already compiled inside the book that Mary give to me." When Princess Karin thought of the thick book inside her room, she feels her mood dropped.

She then sighed and plopped her butt at the bed. The bed creaked under the pressure, but otherwise, it could hold the Princess weight. At first, she lightly laughed at it and she played with creaking sound as she waking and plopped again and again. However, Princess Karin then stopped for a moment, she thought that there was something wrong with Mary's bed.

It's not like Princess Karin were fat or anything like that. She just feels that the bed unusually heavy than her own bed, but for what reason?

Princess Karin curiosity takes over her other reasons and she started to checks the bed. Just as she looks around the side of the bed, she finally found something. She found a crack line which strangely creating a pattern of the round. The pattern was hidden among the other patterns which surrounded it.

Basically, it was looked like an art of wood sculpting to create abstract like the pattern, but if one would squint their eyes to observe, there was a certain pattern that looks different than other. And by chance, Princess Karin noticed four different patterns.

The first pattern was the Circle that she noticed first, the second was a diamond pattern, a triangle for the third pattern, and the last was an inverted triangle. The four of them has the same trait that it was protruded out. So she assumes that she needs to push the pattern based on the key code.

But what the meaning of this pattern? Princess Karin frowned in confusion. She has a thought to randomly push it to see what would happen. But remembering the recent sudden assassin attack, she has a little trauma to do something alone.

Her courage slowly starts to diminish and she also feels scared of this dim room. She had a scary thought that something would pop out to find her. And what if she picked the wrong code and the hidden trap would activate? Then Natasha would found her here who was intruding Mary's room-Wait!

'Mary! It was Mary's room, and this bed must be created and she must request it from Berthold, so he should also know about it!' Princess' eyes shined remembering the gentleman Knight figure and she almost forgets about her fear as she grasped her hand tightly.

But she then remembered that she wasn't allowed to go outside and she frowned. If she waits for him, there would be no other chance to escape. She sighed and lowered her head.
