Her Wish

As I sat on the rattan chair with my slightly bent back and a shawl draped over me to prevent the breeze I gazed at my grandchildren playing in the garden together and let out a gentle smile that radiated love.

She had three children, two sons and one daughter who were all married, her two sons had three children, and her daughter had one child. So she had four granchildren in total.

Two grandchildren of hers were boys and other two girls. At this moment they were all gathered at her place as holidays were going on.

She wished to see her lovely little grandchildren grow into capable men and women and give birth to cute great-grandchildren for her.

"Haha"

As this thought emerged in my mind, I let out a joyful and foolish giggle but became gloomy a second later.

Letting out a sigh she murmured,

"Though I doubt I will be able to witness that as a human...I am getting old and am not as healthy as I used to be..."

Thinking about such thoughts I drifted into sleep under the warm sunlight.

"Urgh..."

In a daze I suddenly felt a gripping tightness in my chest and felt a wave of dizziness washing over me, I felt like my throat was being squeezed and not even a single word came out.

Her second son noticed her abnormality after a while and called out to his big brother and sister in a frenzy,

"MOTHER!!! What happened?!! BROTHER! SISTER!"

Among the disorder and confusion the last thing I heard was my second son's words of panic and fear and then all became black...
