2 2. Morning

A pair of long, long legs stepped out of the shiny vehicle, causing more than a dozen pairs of admiring eyes to be trained upon him.

His hair, seemingly as soft as clouds danced lightly in the cool morning breeze. The weak morning sun brought light to his dazzling face, revealing the melting pool of obsidian blades swirling in his pupils, the high nose bridge, and the plump red lips that seemed to have been made to kiss the angels.

The beautiful boy stepped into the white, clean building and as he made his way to the room labeled A-11, countless squeals erupted from behind him.

He soon arrived at his classroom's entrance but before he managed to get inside his path was blocked by a gaggle of girls with blushing, red-as-tomato faces. All of them stared at the handsome countenance before them with admiring eyes.

After a minute of staring, he felt his patience stirring. His luscious lips parted and soon his command was heard in a low, authoritative voice,

"Move."

The girls subsconciously opened a path for him, but then one brave girl stepped forward and thrusted a daintily wrapped box filled with heart shaped cherry chocolates. "Senior, please... accept my gift, and, and... " the girl started to stutter.

"M-m-my heart as well, please accept it, Senior Noah!"

The gentle, beautiful teenage boy before them is exactly Noah Brihms- the one and only heir of the Brihms group, and one of the 4 Young Masters that controls the economy of the Country of Grozeia- one of the most powerful countries in the world!

He coldly glanced at the girl, who in turn gave a shy, hoping peek at him.

He looked at the box in his hands and went into the classroom silently. The girls outside the classroom could somehow hear the sound of their friend's heart breaking like a fragile glass as teardrops rolled down the fair maiden's face.

"It's alright..."

Noah had already arrived in the classroom and immediately his eyes searched for his one and only deskmate.

The girl sitting on the chair placed near the desk besides his was writing something on her notebook. He didn't have to peek over to know that whatever she wrote is a masterpiece- even the sound of the frictions of her pen against the paper was pleasing to his ears especially in the dewy, calm morning.

Such a pity it was that the peaceful ambience were slightly disrupted by the girl's visuals- sallowy skin due to an illness that she hadn't made known, thick, foggy white-rimmed eyeglasses, red bumps scattered across her forehead and nose bridge while the part of her face below the nose was covered by a surgical mask.

Noah didn' t mind all this, however, and went on to sit besides her. He didn't dare peek at the quiet girl or the notebook in front of her- knowing full well she hated her personal space getting intruded by an entity she didn't welcome.

This girl was the smartest student in their entire school, and it was a well known fact she is even smarter than their seniors. Her name was Luna and her middle name was Emerald. She was a top student who was unusually quiet- throughout her years in Tulips Jones High School , her voice had never been heard, leading others to think she was mute, but when someone finally voiced that question to her, she will just shook her head and go about her business, uncaring about their, the mortals, business.

She played sports actively but the only types of academic competitions she went to was always the ones that didn't require her to speak. And as she always won the grand prize to each and every one of it, the teachers and students alike had repeatedly bugged her to participate in other competitions as well that required her to talk, but she shook her head calmly and went through an entire week of not even winning one medal of honor for the school. Although she mantained her icy, glacier-like aura that seems to never melt, the principal soon realized she was so gey annoyed that he made a public apology and asked her to win again in her competitions. And the school was brought to honor once again.

She always wore oversized, baggy sweaters with loose and faded jeans. But her classmates noticed that whenever she played sports, her graceful figure will momentarily be seen before it was blown out of shape again by the winds caused by her fast and sharp movements.

Although her appearance was indeed revolting, it certainly did not prove a deterrence against the number of students who admired her in the whole school. This was also caused by that iceberg personality of hers, with an unflawed, natural elegance and the charismatically gentle aura she exuded that everyone would just subsconciously follow her and obey her every orders, which she relayed through her actions.

Therefore, the whole school had only seen these 2 sides of her- the elegant, unapproachable, noble young lady, or either the charismatic, stern-yet gentle leader.

And strictly speaking- they didn't know anything about her- her preferences, her dislikes-even her face, as the lower part of it was always covered by her surgical mask.

Teachers and students alike have grew fond of her, and over the years she had became every teacher's pet with her impeccable manners and the comforting silent aura around her that always makes one feel inexplicably peacefully safe.

She was a mystery not yet solved, a puzzle which picture had not been formed- an entity whose very existence was shrouded in the dark, unearthed and unknown.

This is the very reason she had became the only person whom Noah had truly saw and valued as his friend in the whole school. He first came here to be independent, away from his parents, the wealth and the fame he enjoyed in the capital city. He left without the intention to expose who he is, but he certainly underestimated the value his face hold and the popularity he currently had. Within just 2 days of school here, the students and teachers alike had came to know who he is and treated him with reverence and adoration. He felt chaotic- he hadn't wanted this.

But then, on the 4th day he came to school he saw his quiet deskmate still treating him coldly, totally unbothered by the truth. His heart felt at peace befriending her, and although he had asked her countless times to be his friend she had kept silent.

As time went by, she gradually warmed a little bit to him, allowing him to call her a nickname he picked- 'Lune'. They were then known as the Power Seniors of the school as they kept on winning countless honors and fame for the school.

It was Noah's first time ever following someone- usually it was he who was always the captain, the helm of the ship- but then he met Luna and things changed.

And he felt it a nice change.

He snapped out of his trance and looked at his phone before turning to face her. "Lune."

She kept her head down, but he didn't notice the decreasing speed of her writing.

"The principal asked us to go to his office-said he had an offer to make... to the both of us. Care to join?" he flashed an award- winning smile that had melted countless of hearts around the world...

But it certainly did nothing to disturb the frozen calm lake that is the heart of this deskmate of his-not even a ripple.

She wasn't cruel nor was she heartless, she...

Was just unfeeling like that.

And somehow it won't make the people around her take offence or be pissed off at her dismissing attitude, like... she was born to let the world know and accept this characteristic of hers.

The girl's writing decreased at a more obvious speed before stopping completely. She put down the engraved pen and stood up, walking out of the door. Noticing he wasn't following she tilted her head at him before continuing to make her move.

His heart felt like it stopped for a bit or two.

When she tilted her head she absolutely had no idea how....

He stilled for a moment before running to catch up to her.
