Are you an Angel?

[Thank God!!! Another successful operation. Another life has been saved!!] As Quincie remove her mask and surgical gloves she open the door and walk outside towards the waiting family of the newly operated patient with a big smile. 

"Doctor Queen!! How's our dad?" They all rush towards her the moment the door of operating room opens. 

"He's out on danger now. The operation is successfully performed. Now all he needs is rest. He's still sleeping because of the anesthesia but I expect him to wake up after 6 hours so calm yourself now guys." She announced happily. Looking at the face of the family become bright and alive again is the best reward for the doctors like her after spending 6 hours straight in the operating room. 

"Thank God.. Thank you Doctor Queen you're really an angel to us.." Out of so much emotion the wife of the patient burst into tears. She helplessly hugged her and patted her back to make her calm. 

"That's enough Mrs. Reynolds it's supposed to be a time for celebration. Look they're all crying now. I'm sure Mr. Reynolds don't want all of you to worry this much. He's fine now, so cheer up OK?" She sighed when she saw all the family members are starting to cry too. 

"Doctor Queen?" A call from someone on her back make her pulled away from the embrace. She saw one of the son of her patient around 15 or 16. She sure he's one of the heartthrobs in his school. He's handsome and cute at the same time because of his dimples. 

"Yes Mark?" Because she's the doctor in charge since the day Mr. Reynolds bring to that hospital she already met all his family members. 

"For you.. Thank you for saving our dad." He handed her a huge bouquet of different colors of roses shyly. He's also blushing. 

"awww.. Thank you Mark. You don't have to do this. I just did my job." He reaches out the boy's head and ruffled his hair. 

"No.. You don't understand Doctor. We went to a lot of hospitals and doctors before but when they check dad's records they easily turn their back on us without even checking out on him." He said in crack voice. Everyone burst into tears when they heard it. Remembering those painful moments they've been through. 

Honestly when she saw Mr. Reynolds records even she wants to give up. She even think of talking to his family that kindly accept the fact that it's the end for their Dad. But one night when she's doing her rounds. She didn't find Mr. Reynolds in his room. She searched for him everywhere until she found him in church. Praying while crying, begging for another chance to live for his family. When she saw that scene she remembered her father. She remembered how painful it is to lose someone you really love. Then she remembered those kids eyes that hoping for Mr. Reynolds recovery, it squeezing her heart. 

That time after she make sure that Mr. Reynolds bring back to his room safe. She begins her research. She even make an extra effort to visit her professors to ask some advice. She even consult some professional in his illness and sort it all out. It took her 6 months before she manages to make his immune system strong and prepared his body for the major operation. At first the Director of the Hospital it self is against her requests to operate him but since the family sign the waiver of agreement that the hospital is not responsible for their loss. He allowed her to do the operation.

At first she also doubt that she can make it. Especially when no one wants to assist you. She understands them. The psychological impact can make on a doctor if she or he failed to save their patients lives is not a joke. But thankfully she has some friends who cheer her up. One of her close friends volunteered to help her in the operation even though he's still on leave. After 6 hours straight they finally save him from death and bring him to his family with his extended life. 

Someone tugged her robe makes her bring back to her senses. When she looks down she saw one of Mr. Reynolds granddaughter. She put the flowers on the side and bent down and pick her up. "What is it Anna?" 

"Doctor Queen.. Are you an angel?" the girls ask innocently caressing her cheek with her small hand. 

"No baby I'm not." 

"Because you bring our Daddy granny back to us. You take away his pain." 

"I just did my job baby girl. I'm not an angel nor anything. In fact you should all be thankful to your daddy granny we can't make it this far if he didn't fight to live. But since he still wants to be with all of you God heard his prayers and give her another chance to live."

"Someday I want to be like you Doctor Queen." 

"Really? I'm sure you will become much more better than me in the future." She pinches the chubby cheek of the girl lightly. When finally the nurses inside done cleaning the patient they rolled him back to his room to rest. The family went next to them leaving her alone after thanking her again nonstop. 

"Happy?" 

"More than happy.. It's fulfilling Kelvs. Seeing them with happy smiling for the good news is worth the effort." She turned around to the handsome man that just come out from the operating room. 

"I can really see your happy. So it's almost dinner want to grab something to eat?" 

"Sure.. My treat. For helping me here even if you're still on your leave." 

"That's a great idea.. C'mon I'm craving for some Korean food now. And I know the perfect place." He puts his arm on her shoulder and guide her outside. After removing her robe and they're ready to go with some of the nurses that help her earlier when suddenly. 

"PAGING DOCTOR QUEEN YOU ARE IN NEED ON ER 4.. DOCTOR QUEEN TO ER 4 PLEASE" 

"Arghhh.. Again?" Her friend complained. 

"Sorry Kelvs that's our job works. Anyway, you guys can go ahead if you want, I'll try to come after this." She took her card and hand it to him. "Here use this.. I really like to treat you all tonight so please have some fun." She put her card in his hand then turn around to get her robe and run toward the direction of ER. 

"PAGING DOCTOR QUEEN YOU ARE IN NEED ON ER 4.. DOCTOR QUEEN TO ER 4 PLEASE." 

"Doctor Queen is really the most hard working Doctor I've ever met." One of the nurses commented 

"Yeah.. She's really a good catch. Young and super talented and dedicated. Not to mention she's beautiful and kind too." 

"Too much dedicated that leads her marriage life in failure. Not just once but twice." 

"Hey.. Will you shut your mouth up!!! What's with you?!!" 

"What?? I'm just telling the truth. You all know that." 

"Even so.. You don't need to drag that sensitive topic here. That's her personal life and we're all out of it." 

"OK.. OK guys.. That's enough. We're here to celebrate so let's go!!! I'm sure Doctor Queen will follow us there." Kelvin decided to be in the middle of arguing. 

"We doubt it Doc Kelvs.. When I saw her schedule she's well occupied tonight until tomorrow night."

"Let's bring her some take outs instead."
