Emily wasn't sure why she was so shocked when Justin went on about her cookie-decorating skills like a proud PTA mom in front of his friends. Come to think of it, it was very in character for the version of him she had come to know these past few months.

Justin didn't like a lot of people but if you were in his 'inner circle' he doted on you unconditionally. She had seen it many times for both friends and family members alike. She suspected that his extra kindness since she told him she liked him was but a small portion of what he was capable of.

Though she hadn't given him the green light yet after the ridiculous Alexa incident, Emily couldn't deny that he was started to act more like a boyfriend would. He had said he would be the best non-boyfriend ever and thus far that was proving to be correct.
