Their mutual confession didn't change things much at first. Emily still packed him lunch every day, Justin still gave her rides to and from school, and they talked and texted like they had already been doing.

The shift in their relationship was both subtle and gradual. Little things added up, like meeting up between classes on campus when they were free to talk or do homework or Justin picking Emily up from work because it was dark out when she got off.

A couple weeks before finals the indie game club had their closing social for the semester which was basically a potluck where everyone sat around and talked. As Emily's side business got more orders she was able to buy more cookie cutters. She already had one game controller cookie cutter but bought a couple of recognizable video game character ones to go along with the cookies Justin commissioned for the club party.
