Justin could tell Rachelle was curious when he suddenly warned her about getting an email from someone he knew about internship applications. She thought he was middle aged so she probably wondered how he even knew a college student.

To keep her from getting any weird ideas, he claimed Emily was a relative and told her not to reference their relationship in the email or say anything about Costa Coding and simply take Emily's questions at face value, promising a bonus for doing so. Rachelle clearly wanted to ask questions but complied with her usual "yes, Mr. Costa." That was one problem down.

Rachelle may have handled the interns but Justin was the one who interviewed them. He totally could have helped Emily out himself but he didn't know how to explain his extensive knowledge of interview procedures. It would be easier coming from someone else. As long as she got the help she needed that was what mattered, right?
