Justin was amazed that he was able to keep it together long enough to get through a conversation about their shared high school without giving anything away. Emily seemed utterly unsuspicious. Had he really been worried over nothing? He texted Sam to tell her what happened and she sent a smug 'I told you so' back. It was over before he knew it.

When the new semester started, their schedules were complete opposites so they weren't able to carpool for the first time since the Brandon incident. Since they were both nearing the end of their academic careers, class schedules were less flexible. Sometimes there was only a single section at a horrible time like 4 PM for a required class. This was what led Justin to having entirely evening classes and Emily having her school day start at 7:30 AM.
