170 Anybody Would Be Lucky to Marry You

Emily got off work earlier than usual but with traffic she still didn't make it home until nearly 7 PM. When she walked through the door, she was greeted by a chorus of meows begging for dinner. Funny, Justin usually fed them by now. What was he doing?

Taking care not to step on any of the kittens underfoot, she tiptoed her way into the living room and saw Justin flat on his back, asleep on the floor with a pile of six kittens on his chest. She couldn't help but laugh. Looks like they had worn him out playing. The feather toy was less than a foot away.

"Justin," Emily called sweetly. "Have you eaten dinner yet?"

"Huh?" he jolted up and the scattered kittens all hissed and fluffed up in alarm, a few of them scratching their former pillow in the process of being launched away. He winced. "Oh, hi. How was work?"

"Decent. We had a lot of good takes so we got off early. Is there any takeout left in the fridge?"
