34 Chapter 34 - Surprise ! Only to be Surprised

The morning came, Tim is refreshed from the good sleep. He quickly freshen himself up and dressed up casually in It's almost 7:00 am. Based on her schedule there is no business meeting today. Beside even if there is, it's too early for business engagement.

Tim checked in his phone there is no new message from Lissy. 'Did she not notice the flower and champagne in her room?'

He then proceed to Lissy's room. Wearing soft khaki twill fitted pants and white long sleeves cotton shirt with 2 buttons in front, he looks like someone who is going on casual date, very relaxed.

When he reached front of Lissy's room he position himself sideways and pressed the doorbell. At the thought of Lissy looking at the peephole only to find no one is there, Tim grinned. There was no reaction.

'Hmmm is she still sleeping? It's 7:15am....'

He once again pressed the doorbell, once, twice thrice each time with enough interval to get her up walk towards the door.

Tim initiated a video call via app. There was no response either. Was she still sleeping? But she buzzed her room to many times. He found his way down to the hotel restaurant at the lobby. He is tempted to ask the reception but it's a hassle to go through that, he doesn't want to explain himself. More importantly he doesn't want to look like lurking at her.

He sat in table position near the al fresco area, this allowed him to look outside the hotel and also see the reception.

While sipping hot cappuccino, he opened a message from Jenna. After their brief chat last time she came back with a short message, 'I need to talk you.'

Tim: I'll message you when I am back, in Shanghai.

Almost done with his breakfast a figure familiar to him appeared from outside the hotel. The lady was wearing hair in bun in a fitted sports wear. The curves are in the right places. It's Lissy! She was wearing a black with pink pattern leggings for running with matching fitted tank top. His woman is both lovely and sexy! He is extremely proud of her being smart, good looking in and out plus the fact that she doesn't shy away from sports. She may not be outstanding in that area but she takes interest.

When Lissy entered the lobby, he just got his bill charged to his room. Tim was about to walk towards Lissy when a talk Chinese guy in track suit followed her closely from behind seemed to have called her. Tim has no intention of slowing down until he saw the guy cheek kissed her. Tim was taken aback. If this was the US or Australia he would not be surprised. He stopped. The Chinese guy left, Lissy even waved at him.

Tim walked once more to catch up with Lissy however she was able to take the next immediate available elevator.

The guy looks pure Chinese, unlike him who does give out a mixed race look. The guy was just as white as Lissy and he does not look like some random ordinary guy.

Inside the elevator Tim had second thoughts of hitting the floor number to where Lissy's room is. He instead hit 8th floor, where he stays.

Tim opened the chat app on his phone and sent Lissy a message. It's nearly 9:00am.

Tim: Honey good morning how are you?

It took a while before he got a reply. She is probably taking a bath. After running a hot bath is perfect. When the phone buzzed, it rendered Tim wandering.

Lissy: Morning! I just woke up.

'Waking up 2 or 3 hours this hour cannot be considered just woke up.'

Tim is tempted to call, he had always trusted Lissy she is not someone who could be two timing. From what he saw in the lobby there is nothing wrong how ever this response did send an alarm to him.

Tim: It's too early and it's a Saturday you can take you rest.

Who is the person she run with this morning. There was also no hint on thanking him for the flowers and champagne.

Tim: I am arriving later this afternoon can you see me?

There was a long silence before Tim saw her very brief message, 'Arriving in Shanghai?'

Tim: yes

Lissy was both alarmed and surprised, looks like she needed to rearranged some items.

Tim was still staring at his phone. He will know who is that guy later on. He will find a way to ask Lissy. His brows were furrowed. He cannot entertain these thoughts about Lissy. She is very decent and she had full trust in her.

Back at NextGen, Pam revived a message from Dindin from her phone.

Dindin: Do you have any plans this afternoon?

Pam: Nothing.

Dindin: Do you want to go out and have some organic lunch at The Table?

The Table is known for their farm to table concept. The food are served with fresh organic vegetable. He wanted to try this with Pam. Pam has turn a liking to organic stuff with Tim before.

Pam: let me check.

Pam immediately got a reply for the message,

Dindin: come on! Don't be a couch potato in a weekend!

After much thinking Pam agreed anyway to Dindin's suggestions. It's good to have people you are familiar with in her case. She wanted to be cheered on!

Dindin: My boss is still in Shanghai. She is probably having fun with Tim now.

Pam: oh, is they are together in business trip?

Dindin: Not exactly, Tim went to surprise her. He might be popping the question today.

Pam was no longer in the mood to go out, after seeing last message from Dindin, she felt something is heavy in her chest. Why is it feeling hard yet broken?

He is finally going to marry the person he loved the most. While I am here struggling to be out of the shadows of His love. She felt so pathetic.
