13 Chapter 12

Jade was sitting on her bed facetiming Jacob.

"I'm glad your starting to feel better."

"Thanks I'm glad too," Jade chuckled.

"So will you be back in town tomorrow?" she asked.

"Yea I will maybe next time i go out of town you won't have to ask when i'm coming back cause you'll be sitting by me on the plane... or I could help you join the mile high club."

"Boy you so crazy," she giggled.

"I know but how about you show me those...."

There was a knock at the door.

"I'm gonna see who that at the door I'll talk to you later."

"Ok babe, he said then she hung up the call and went to the door.

She opened the door to see the last person she wanted see.

"What the hell are you doing here.." she scowled at Nate

"Is it true?"

"What are you talking about?" she raised a brow.

"Can I come I just want to talk...."

Jade was about to say something.

"No it's not about us getting back together." Nate stated.

"Good cause were not." Jade told him

"Ok can I come in?"

"Fine, Jade said as she let Nate inside the apartment.

She looked directly at him.

"You got five minutes," she said in a cold tone.

He looked at her.

"Are you pregnant?"

Her face dropped.

"Who told you that?" Jade shoot daggers at him.

Nate was at Walmart waiting in one of the checkout lanes.

"Hey Nate."

He heard a familiar voice from behind him

He was surprised to turn to see Jade's mom standing behind him with a basket full of groceries.

"Hey Ms. Ruby, Nate said feeling weird considering what happened between him and Jade.

"So how you been?"

"I've been good."

Nate paused for a minute.

"Can I ask you something?"

"What you want to ask?"

"How is Jade doing?"

Ms. Ruby raised a eyebrow.

"Why do you want to know?"

"I just hope she's doing good."

"Oh she is doing real good especially with a baby on the way."

"Wait Jade is pregnant!" Nate was shocked.

Ms. Ruby had an instant look of regret.

"Don't say anything about that." she told him.

"I can get someone down here." The cashier in the next lane announced.

Ms. Ruby quickly moved her basket to the next lane.

"Are you ready to check out sir?" the checkout lady in front of him asked.

"I need your help finding something." he told her.

He sighed.

Jade looked at him she knew he was hiding something.

"Who told you." she snapped.

"Your mom did." Nate replied back.

Jade was visibly upset.

"Why are you talking to my mom!"

"She just told me I didn't ask." he explained.

"I'm not pregnant no matter what my mom tells you." Jade told him.

Nate started digging into the plastic store bag and pulled out a small box.

"You bought a pregnancy test?!" Jade asked surprised

"I told you I was at the store and I just want to know.. honestly."

"I'm going to take this just to prove a point to you and my mom."

Jade said snatching the box from nate's hands and walking into the bathroom. Nate was following behind her.

She turned and narrowed her eyes at him.

"Where do you think you going?"

"Oh," was all Nate could say as his cheeks turned red.

She rolled her eyes and closed the door in his face.

Jade walked out of the bathroom holding the pregnancy test she went over to Nate who was sitting on the couch he stood up in anticipation.

"So what does it say?"he asked

Jade said nothing as she placed the test down on the coffee table.

She crossed her arms as Nate picked it up and looked at the test it was negative.

His eyes met Jade's

"I told you I wasn't pregnant."

"Jade..."

"Get out," she said as she pointed to the direction of the front door.

Nate said nothing as he walked passed her walked out of the apartment closing the door behind him.
